VINCENT - Funeral service for Ruth L. Threatt, 87, will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at noon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Carter officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery.
Mrs. Threatt died Nov. 26 at her residence. She was a native of Shelby County and was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, choir member and member of the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Threatt; brothers, Cleveland, Jimmie and Welch; sisters, Catherine, Maggie and Maple; daughter, Nadine; stepdaughter, Marjorie; and stepmother, Lillie Fair.
She is survived by daughters, Roxie Mallory and Sandra Porch of Vincent, Frances Dates of Harpersville and Nettie Hightower of Birmingham; sons, William T. Threatt of Alabaster, Eddie Threatt of Chicago, Ill., Rufus Threatt of Talladega, Terry Threatt of Harpersville, Jimmy Threatt of Fayetteville, Ga., Arthur Threatt of Colbert, Ga., Mark Threatt and Larry Threatt of Vincent and Gary Threatt of Bessemer; brothers, the Rev. Richard Fair of Harpersville, Willie Fair Jr. of Childersburg and Reuben Fair of Atlanta, Ga.; 51 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Sons will serve as pallbearers.
Madden’s Funeral Service will direct the service.

BIRMINGHAM - Edward Ball, 64, of 1320-33rd St. North, formerly of Alpine, died Nov. 28 at University Hospital in Birmingham.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary.

ASHLAND - Funeral service for Louell Caldwell, 90, will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at Clay County Funeral Home chapel with Brother Dan Keith officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Caldwell died Nov. 27 at Clay County Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and was retired from Southland Manufacturing and was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Caldwell.
She is survived by daughter, Anita Craft of Ashland; brothers, Jesse Lee Jackson and Morris Jackson of Ashland; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The staff of Clay County Nursing Home will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Clay County Funeral Home will direct the service.

WARNER ROBBINS, Ga. - Kimberly Sewell Cotter, 35, formerly of Talladega, died Nov. 29.

SYLACAUGA - Arrangements for a memorial service for Sandra Kathleen Craig, 42, will be announced at a later time.
Ms. Craig died Nov. 26 in Sylacauga.
She is survived by her fiancé, Steve Butler of Wetumpka; daughter, Jennifer Gibson of Homewood; brother, William A. Craig Jr.; and sisters, Suzanne Williams and Toni Nelson.
Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga is in charge of the arrangements.

PELL CITY - Funeral service for Austin Wrenn Dye, 70, will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dye died Nov. 28. He was preceded in death by a son, William A. Dye. He was an automotive mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Garrett Dye; daughters, Rita Dye Welch (Bruce) and Teresa Dye Martin (Stenson); son, James A. Dye (Kathy); brothers, John Dye (Dean) and Merril Dye; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Tollison, Freddie Dye, Reginald Foster, Willie Lybrand and Nicky Lybrand.

Mrs. Farless died Nov. 28 in Birmingham.
She is survived by son, James Farless of Birmingham; half brothers, Curtis Clark of Margaret and Roger Clark of Cullman; half sisters, Frances Bush of Ashville and Ruby Mitchell of Pell City; and son-in-law.

HERSHEL WILSON GRICE
SYLACAUGA - Funeral service for Hershel Wilson Grice, 89, will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Donald Grice and the Rev. Donnie Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery
in Sylacauga.
Mr. Grice died Nov. 29 in Sylacauga. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and Unity Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served a total of 27 months as a Seabee in World War II. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Magalean Grice of Sylacauga; daughter, Mary Ann Simmons of Gadsden; sons, Luke Grice of Sylacauga and Donald Grice of Sylacauga; and 13 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

TALLADEGA - Funeral service for William Paul Hanner, 61, will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Jeff Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Hanner died Nov. 27 in Talladega. He was a native of Ashland and lived in Vincent prior to moving to Talladega in 1991. He was a member of Calvery Baptist Church in Vincent and was owner of East Shelby Electric in Talladega.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hanner of Talladega; daughters, Regina Ann Deason of Montevallo, Paula D. Merrit of Calera and Debbie Lynn Wilbanks of Odenville; son, Kent Wayne Hanner of Weogufka; sister, Charlotte Gardner of Centerpoint; brother, Eugene Hanner of Pinson; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Wilbanks, Grady Thrower, Doug Cruise, Jason Knapp, James Rolane and Dennis Earl Ray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew (Chief) Lavore, James Campbell, Keith Deason, Tommy Dale Hanner and Bart Hanner.

Mr. Hill died Nov. 26.
He is survived by his mother, Queenie Hill of Kellyton; special friend, Juanita Corbett of Wetumpka; nine children, Nenea H. Torbert of Opelika, Aretha H. Hill of Alexander City, Christopher Lynn Hill and Jackie Thomas of Alexander City, Lanay Bowe of Montgomery, Latricia Bowe and Marco James of Columbus, Ga., Gaddis Hill II and Jonathan T. Hill of Wetumpka; sisters, Izora Maxwell and Annie Ruth Kendricks of Kellyton; brothers, Louis Hill, Franklin Hill and John Ross Hill of Columbus, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

LEEDS - Funeral service for Vedie I. Hill, 86, will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hill died Nov. 28. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Jerry" Hill. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who is loved and will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda Slatton; sister, Vivian Smith; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
