MILDRED HARDWICK CAMP
TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Mildred Hardwick Camp, 98, will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. at Talladega Church of Christ with Lee Camp and Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Camp died Oct. 24 at her residence. She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Enoch and Jack Hardwick, and two sisters, Lorene Hardwick Foster and Louise Hardwick Fungerburk. She was a native of the Pisgah Community near Pell City. She spent most of her younger years in Dadeville, and for several years was part owner, with several family members, of a ladies clothing store. She attended Howard College and Auburn University and studied voice at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. In 1932, she married Herschell Camp. In 1949, the moved to Munford, Ala., where she taught first grade. In 1952, they moved to Talladega where Mr. Camp purchased an accounting practice. She worked alongside him in the business and later their sons joined them to form, what is known today as Camp & Associates.
She was a faithful member of the Talladega Church of Christ for 52 years and was the oldest living member of the congregation. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by sons, William H. Camp Jr. (Betty Lou) and James F. Camp (Gayle), all of Talladega; and grandchildren, Jeffry Camp (Hyland), Andrew Camp (Jenny), Conrad Camp (Sara), Lee Camp (Laura) and Kathryn Camp Nelson (Will).
The family will receive flowers or memorials to Childhaven Orphanage, P.O. Box 2070, Cullman, Ala., 35056-2070 or Orphans’ Fund, P.O. Box 1413, Banner Elk, N.C., 28604.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Will Nelson, Carson Camp, Blake Harris and Jimmy Norred.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Clark and elders and deacons of Talladega Church of Christ.
Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
PINKIE OGLETREE HUNT
VINCENT - Funeral service for Pinkie Ogletree Hunt, 97, will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Duncan Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with Elder Eddie Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Calcis Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt died Oct. 21 at Jefferson Rehabilitation and Health Center in Tarrant.
She is survived by son, Larry Hunt of Bessemer; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.
ANNIE PEARL LINDSEY McLAIN
LINEVILLE — Funeral service for Annie Pearl Lindsey McLain, 72, will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Strong and Pastor Elston D. McLain officiating. Burial will follow at Lineville Community Cemetery.
Mrs. McLain died Oct. 20 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, K.C. Lindsey and Dovie Sears Lindsey; and a brother, Jessie B. Lindsey. She was a graduate of Clay County Training School, received a B.S. degree from Alabama State University in Montgomery; was an educator who taught for 42 years at Bunker Hill School, Barfield Middle School, and Lineville Elementary School. She was a member of the Alabama Education Retirement Association, the American Association of Retired Persons and the National Education Association. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, where she was president and treasurer of the Missionary Society, a certified lay speaker, communion steward, Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Sunday school and children-youth coordinator.
She is survived by five sons, Royce McLain of Stone Mountain, Ga., Elston D. McLain of Huntsville, James R. McLain and Victor L. McLain of Lineville and Julian McLain of Munford; sisters, Lovie Dean McLain, Ora Lindsey and Julie Garrett of Lineville and Frances Diggs of Westerbury, N.Y.; brothers, Donald Lindsey, Henry Clay Lindsey, Jimmy Pat Barker, Ernest Lindsey of Lineville and Dennis Roy Lindsey of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as step relatives and her primary caregiver.
Pallbearers will be nephews and family friends.
The family will receive friends at Bethlehem United Methodist Church at noon Tuesday.

WILLIAM EDWARD PARRISH
William Edward Parrish of Alpine, Alabama, was born April 26, 1929, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Edward Jesse and Montez Nicholson Parrish. Education in schools in Florida and Georgia, he graduated from Blountstown High School, Blountstown, Florida in 1950. After a four year period of military service which included the
Korean War, he entered Florida State University. Because of the unexpected death of his father, he discontinued his education at FSU. Later he enrolled in the George C. Wallace Technical School in Dothan, Alabama earning a degree in drafting technology. While working in drafting technology, he continued to study painting, graphic arts, photography, videography, music (voice and piano) and later, computer science. He completed his undergraduate degree in teaching in the early 1980’s and his Master of Arts Degree in Education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
Bill began his career as a drafting technician with the Jimmy Grant Company in Dothan, Alabama, moving to Montgomery in 1969 he accepted a position with the State of Alabama Building Commission and then with the Highway Department working as a cartographer. During this period he continued to pursue his interest in the study of media technology, working part-time with the Alabama State Department of Education in videography, graphic arts and computer science. He was offered a position working in a federal program in conjunction with the State Department, The University of Montevallo, UAB, Alabama A&M University/Cullman County Teacher Corps Project which was designed to improve teaching of vocational students through Performance Based Instruction. He continued with the extension of that project in Talladega County Schools. The project was designed to improve teaching and learning through research based education. When Teacher Corps was discontinued in the early 1980’s, Bill accepted a position with The Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, the E.H. Gentry Technical Facility, teaching computer science. He retired from the Institute in 1992.
On a personal level, Bill lived his life as a caring, kind and generous person. He cared for others and loved his friends and students, served as a mentor to new and experienced teachers, always encouraging others to broaden and expand their horizons, enhance their careers and their personal lives. He will be missed by those who took the time to learn him well. He was a member of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge.
Bill died on Oct. 24, 2004 at Brookwood Hospital. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Martha Roney Parrish.
He is survived by his brother, James Parrish of Chattanooga, Tennessee and four children, Angie Hecht, Jan Sides, David and Douglas Parrish, all of Montgomery.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Donald D. Hartman officiating. Entombment will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.

SARA L. AMES
MONTGOMERY - Funeral arrangements for Sara L. (Sally) Ames will be announced.
Mrs. Ames died Oct. 25. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Ames.
She is survived by sister, Daisy L. Harmon of Munford; niece, Donna (Roy) Kendrick of Banks; and nephews, John C. (Faye) Harmon of Munford and George J. (Connie) Harmon of Summerville.
Alabama Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
JAMES WILLIAM ARMBRESTER
ALPINE - Funeral service for James William "J" Armbrester, 51, of 12018 Renfroe Road, will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Fair and the Rev. Raymond Garrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Armbrester died Oct. 20 at Coosa Valley BMC. He was a lifelong member of St. Campbell Baptist Church, was employed by Labor Local No. 559 in Birmingham and was a mechanic. He attended Hannah Mallory School and Talladega County Training School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny C. Armbrester and Catherine Thomas Armbrester; sisters, Liza Jo Armbrester, Mary Elizabeth Garrett and Mannie Helen Swain; and brother, Edward Armbrester.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Garrett Armbrester of Alpine; sons, Atari Garrett and Tavarus Garrett of Alpine; sisters, Mable Louise Garrett and Annie Pearl Armbrester of Alpine; and brothers, John Henry Armbrester, Walter Armbrester, Roy Armbrester and Larry Armbrester of Alpine.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

WILLIAM JERRY BANNISTER
RIVERSIDE - Funeral service for William Jerry Bannister, 69, will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Bannister died Oct. 24. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and was a 1953 graduate of Pell City High School. He retired from Anniston Army Depot in 1994 and was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Millie Bannister.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Bannister; sons, Roger D. Bannister (Janice) and Michael D. Bannister; sisters, Aline Braden (James) and Shirley Adams (Hobson); grandchildren, Sonya Bannister Helms (Kevin), Chris Bannister (Debbie) and Brian Bannister; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Bannister and Brant Helms.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

LILLIE CAMPBELL
SYLACAUGA - Graveside service for Lillie "Nora" Campbell, 75, will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. in Marble City Cemetery
with the Rev. Bill Gwathney officiating.
Mrs. Campbell died Oct. 23 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Campbell Jr.; her brothers, Loomis Jones, Billy Jones and Roy Jones; and her sisters, Mary Lee Green, Nellie Joe Naugle, Sally Thomason, Laverne McElrath and Naomi Gamel. She loved her grandsons and great-grandson.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Amason of Sylacauga; son, Arthur Lee Campbell III of Prattville; grandsons, Jeremy Amason and wife Kristin of Auburn and Blake Amason of Sevierville, Tenn.; and great-grandson, Arthur Amason of Auburn.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
