JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Funeral service for Gladys Culpepper Fowler, 84, will be Sunday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Sandfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Fowler died Oct. 7. She was formerly of Union Springs. She was born Aug. 7, 1920 in Corinth to Jim and Annie Culpepper. For 41 _ years she was employed at Cowikee Textile Mille in Union Springs. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Fowler; son, Virgil Fowler; brothers, Johnnie Culpepper and James Culpepper; and sisters, Jessie Lee Dease, Lois Dease, Clyde Stewart, Annie Mae Austin and Ada Austin.
She is survived by daughter, Margaret McKinney of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Harold Fowler of Talladega; grandchildren, Sheila Jones, Ervin (Gloria) McKinney, Paul (Renee) Fowler and Eric Fowler; great-grandchildren, Chris Camp, Tammy Jones and Will Fowler; great-great-grandchild, Brandy Camp.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday.
Gray Funeral Home in Union Springs will direct the service.

LEEDS - Funeral service for Billie Gay Harris, 72, will be Saturday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died Oct. 8.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Harris; son, Ray Harris; daughters, Rita Uhis, Kim Ellison and Kristi Dutton; brother, Charles Green; sister, Sue Maxey; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds will direct the service.
JOSEPHINE ELEANOR McGUIRE
WEOGUFKA - Graveside service for Josephine Eleanor McGuire, 79, will be Sunday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in Midway Memory Gardens in Talladega.
Mrs. McGuire died Oct. 8 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.H. "Mickey" McGuire. She was a member of Weogufka Methodist Church. She was born and raised in Sycamore and moved to Weogufka in the late 1960’s.
She is survived by stepson, Gene L. McGuire and wife Shirley of Goldsboro, N.C.; grandchild, Lynne McGuire Waddell of Goldsboro, N.C.; great-grandchild, Macy Lynne Waddell of Goldsboro, N.C.; special friend, Angie Camp of Weogufka; and niece, Jeanette Burns.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Senior Citizens Center in Stewartville.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Christine McElrath Averette, 82, will be Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby L. Harris officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Averette died Oct. 11 at her residence. She was a native of Talladega County and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She served in the Willing Workers, pastor aide, and was president of the senior choir. She was a member of the Golden Keys and was a member of T.C.D.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Averette; a daughter, Roberta Ann Williams; and a son, Joe Ray Averette.
She is survived by daughter, Alice Faye (Bill) Porch of Sylacauga; sons, Billy Ross (Pam) Averette, James Aaron Averette, Robert Vann (Loventrice) Averette and Henry Franklin (Mary) Averette of Sylacauga; adopted son, Danny Rea (Linda) Averette of Sylacauga; sister, Thelma Christian of Youngstown, Ohio; brothers, Johnny G. McElrath of Akron, Ohio and Winston (Katherine) McElrath of Sylacauga; 29 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Edward (Ed) Darby.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Joy Cameron, 30, of 222 Dunn Lane, will be Saturday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at Africa Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William T. Threatt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Ms. Cameron died Oct. 13 at University Hospital in Birmingham. She was a member of Africa Missionary Baptist Church, was a graduate of Munford High School and was formerly employed at Tyson Foods, Wal-Mart, Piggly Wiggly and General Dollar Store. She was a member of the Virtious Ones Social and Savings Club.
She is survived by daughters, Jasmine LaShae Cameron and Eboni Todshae McKenzie of Talladega; her parents, Tommy L. Cameron and Winnie M. Cameron of Talladega; fiancé, Kendall Swain of Alpine; sister, Jacqueline McClendon of Anderson, Ind.; and brothers, Devlin Cameron of Ashland, Ricardo Cameron of Inverness and Myles Cameron and Eric Samuel of Talladega.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Cousins and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The High Rollers Social and Savings Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the service.

LINCOLN — Funeral service for Robert Frank Cox Jr., 57, will be Friday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. John Love officiating.
Mr. Cox died Oct. 13 at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and was owner of several businesses. He was a great gardener, was a graduate of JSU with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Shirey of Lincoln; daughters, Emily Cox of Tionesta, Pa., and Melanie Cox of Jerusalem, Israel; cousin, Cindy Smothers of Columbiana; stepson, Oliver Shirey; and stepgranddaughter, Caitie Bedor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Rice, Shirley Parks, Bentley Forker, Oliver Shirey, Bruce Townsend, Andrea Belcher, Glenda Waldrop, Jackie Strickland, Allen Baker, Charlie Watson, Robert Townsend, Brinton Coughran and a host of close friends.
