LOIS LUKER CLARK
DELTA — Funeral service for Lois Luker Clark, 82, will be Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis P. Bowen, the Rev. Pete Haynes, the Rev. Ted Embry, the Rev. Curtis Beculhimer and the Rev. Jerry Edge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Clark died Sept. 26 at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Clay County and a former resident of Calhoun County and Randolph County since 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was church treasurer for many years until her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a daughter; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Clark of Delta; daughter, Carole Johnson of Delta; sons, Buddy Clark of Heflin, Steve Clark of Delta and Paul Clark of Arab; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Leon Luker of Heflin.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Clark, Rodney Clark, Stephen Johnson, Christopher Clark, Kevin Clark, Michael Clark and Keith Clarke.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, her grandson-in-laws, and Barron Luker and Wayne Luker.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home until one hour before the service.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville will direct the service.
JETTIE YOUNG DAVIS
DELTA — Funeral service for Jettie Young Davis, 69, will be Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Bethel North Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rinehart officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died Sept. 27 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. She was a native of Cleburne County and had lived in Randolph County since 1969. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by daughters, Edna J. Davis, Joan Davis and Margaret J. Davis of Delta; son, Alan Davis of Delta; sisters, Nettie Deemer of Oxford, Nelsie Harris of Heflin and Jeanie Hanson of Anniston; brothers, Clifford Young of Anniston and A.V. Young of Hollis Cross Roads; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and until service time on Wednesday.

ANNIE LAURA FARMER
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Annie Laura Farmer, 91, will be Thursday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Gary Braswell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Farmer died Sept. 27 at Northside Health Care in Gadsden. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and was a member of East Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Betty Sue Bone of Jacksonville, Francis Woodliet of Raleigh, N.C., and Joyce Gentry of Talladega; sons, Kerry Joe Farmer of Charleston, S.C., Fred Ray Farmer of Conover, N.C., and Robert Farmer of Ashville; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
EVELYN JOHNSTON LEWIS
PELL CITY — Funeral service for Evelyn Johnston Lewis, 83, was Monday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Word Alive International Outreach in Coldwater with the Rev. Kent Mattox and the Rev. Larry Maxwell. Burial will be in Valley Hill Memorial.
Mrs. Lewis died Sept. 25. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hause Lewis.
She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth L. McCormick, Mary L. Turner and Helen L. Gervais; son, William H. Lewis Jr.; sister, Grace J. Houston; brother, Edward E. Johnston Jr.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests donations may be made to the Word Alive International Outreach Childrens Ministry or the Harvest Home Shelter Home.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.
AUTHOR DAVID PODY
HONEA PATH, S.C. — Memorial service for Author David Pody, 66, will be Friday, Oct. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Westville Funerals and Cremations.
Mr. Pody died Sept. 24 at the V.A. Hospital in Charleston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter D. and Mabel P. Pody. He was born in Coosa County and was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Pody; son, David Alan Pody; brother, John H. Pody; and sister, Nelda P. Atwood.
Westville Funerals and Cremations will direct the service.

TALLADEGA — Lottie Irene Waits, 84, died Sept. 27 at Talladega Health Care Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

HAYWARD L. BISHOP
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Usrey Funeral Home for Mr. Hayward L. Bishop, 72, of Ragland. Mr. Bishop died Saturday, September 25, after an extended illness that began in 1993. The Reverend Douglas Ford and Reverend Curtis Fuller will deliver the message.
Mr. Bishop was of Methodist faith and a lifelong resident of St. Clair County. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from National Cement Co. as an electrician. He was active in his community by becoming a voluntary fireman from 1968 to 1976 and Chief from 1976 to 1990. He was awarded 1990 Firefighter of the Year by the American Legion as well as other recognitions.
In later years, Mr. Bishop was stricken with kidney failure and was a Dialysis patient for 10 1/2 years. Through many difficult times, he had a smile, determination in his heart, and no complaints to be heard.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Etta Bishop.
Those left to cherish and grow from his life's lessons are his wife, Lois, daughter, Patsy (Phil) Grady of Gadsden; sons Ricky (Karen) Bishop and Steven (Pam) Bishop; grandchildren, Kevin Bishop, Kari Bishop, Justin Bishop and Christi (Rusty) Lane; great-grandchildren, Marrissa Bishop and Breanna and Kaitlynn Lane; brother, Jerome (Myra) Bishop of Birmingham; sister, Martha (Don) Jones of West Palm Beach, Florida, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws, Aunt Hazel Edge, and mother-in-law, Estelle Davidson.
Pallbearers were David Burnham, Kenneth Crowe, Jeff French, Bill Burks as well as members of the Ragland Volunteer Fire Department. The firefighters "Last Call" will be sounded over the town of Ragland as Mr. Bishop is laid to rest at Hardin's Chapel Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles H. Davidson and Jimmy Bunt.
The family is grateful for the encouragement and prayers of many friends and to all the churches that have remembered us so lovingly.
Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Azita Takashen and all Staff of the Dialysis Inc. of Pell City and also, the Ragland Rescue Unit.
The family received friends and family from 6 to 9 Monday night at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City.
LETITIA THOMAS PORCH
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Letitia Thomas Porch will be Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby L. Harris officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Ms. Porch died Sept. 24 in Coosa County. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, was a graduate of Sylacauga High School and was a native of Talladega County.
She is survived by daughters, Nikisha Thomas and April Thomas of Sylacauga; sisters, Barbara (Anderson) Pope and Sherry Cowlin of Childersburg, Annie R. Stamps, Carolyn Thomas, Vickie Thomas, Gloria Thomas and Tracy (Ray) Gamble, all of Sylacauga; brothers, Earnest (Jeannie) Thomas Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, and James Thomas and Otis Thomas of Childersburg; brother-in-law, Bobby D. Lykes of Sylacauga; great-uncle, Daniel Threatt of Cleveland, Ohio; and aunt, Parthenia Thomas of Anniston.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

WILLIE MAUDE BRADFORD
BARFIELD — Funeral service for Willie Maude Bradford, 87, will be Thursday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. at Barfield Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne A. Stevens and the Rev. Ronald McKeever officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bradford died Sept. 27 at Clay County Nursing Home in Ashland. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and had been employed at the Fair Store in Lineville for 27 years. She was a member of Barfield Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Geanell Knight of Hartselle; sons, Bill Bradford of Birmingham and Pete Bradford of Wefowee; sister, Omeree Graben of Lineville; brother, Elbert Griffin of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Griffin, Tommy Bradford, John Griffin, Dave Burroughs, Jeff Gray and Ralph Houk.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and until one hour before the service.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour.
