MARSHALL LEE DRAPER

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Funeral service for Marshall Lee Draper was Thursday, Aug. 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Greene's Funeral Home in Alexandria, Va., with Pastor Linda Y. Pitt officiating. Burial was in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Va.

Mr. Draper died Aug. 5. He was born April 26, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lune D. and Louise Draper. He completed his education at Talladega County Trade School in 1959. He immediately joined the U.S. Army and served until October of 1962. He then moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked in the restaurant industry until his retirement. In 1973 he married Sandra Lee Wilson Draper and they had a son, Keith Marshalle Draper. He accepted Christ on New Year's Eve 1984. He was a dedicated and faithful member under the leadership of the late Bishop St. Ruth Jeffries and now Pastor Linda Y. Pitt of Unity Center of Praise and Deliverance, totaling 19 years of commitment.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Keith; daughter, Monica; elder son, Marshall Jr.; sisters, Norma, Jeraldine, Gustina, Edie, Mary, Marvaline, Jacqueline, Garnett, Teresa, Sandra and Wanda; brothers, Norman, Robert, Victor and Andra; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Greene's Funeral Home directed the service.

GROVER C. BROWN

ANNISTON — Grover C. Brown, 58, died Aug. 23.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ervin Funeral Chapel.

MARGARET NELL CAMPBELL

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Margaret Nell Campbell, 74, will be Thursday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Paul Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Campbell died Aug. 24 at Sylacauga Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie V. Burkhalter and Clyde C. Burkhalter, and brother, Luverne Burkhalter.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred T. Campbell of Sylacauga; daughter, Janice C. Scroggins and husband Jimmy of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Warren Scroggins and wife Kelly of Sylacauga, Kim S. Smith and husband Kenny of Fayetteville, Jason Scroggins of Sylacauga and Jamie S. Culver and husband Shane of Sylacauga; and great-grandchildren, Brittany Scroggins, Brandon Riley, Kayla Riley, Dylan Smith, Kortney Smith, Kelsey Smith, Jaycie Smith, Slade Scroggins, Nellie Scroggins and Bailey Parker.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

THEDRICK ERVIN

SYLACAUGA — Thedrick Ervin, 46, of 403 Basement Circle, died Aug. 24 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Community Funeral Home.

PAMELA CREED FEDELE

Fedele, Pamela ("Pam") Creed, age 52, died August 21, 2004 in Clewiston, Florida after a valiant battle against cancer. Her devoted husband of 18 years, Dr. Adrian Fedele, M.D. took care of her to the end and was by her side, along with their son Eli Fedele, age 10, as she passed away in their home. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Alexander Creed of Pell City, AL; her sister, Sara Nell Creed of Pell City, AL; her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Lee Chaffin of Tampa, FL; her sister, Dale Creed Jones of Decatur, GA; her uncle and aunt, Claxton and Hazel Alexander of Pell City, AL; and her uncle and aunt, Bill and Gail Creed of Cahaba Heights, AL. She also has a host of cousins in Alabama and the Southeast. She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Creed of Ragland; by her maternal grandparents, Marvin and Cora Alexander of Pell City; and by her paternal grandparents, Joseph H. and Velma Shaddix Creed of Clay County, AL.

Pam and her sisters grew up in Ragland, AL. She was a 1970 graduate of Ragland High School. In 1975, she received her Bachelor's Degree of Social Work from the University of Alabama, Tucaloosa, AL and worked as a social worker in Florida until the birth of her son. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, a primary focus of Pam's life was service to her community. She was president of the Parent-Teacher Organization ("PTO") at Eastside Elementary School, Clewiston, FL and worked tirelessly to raise funds for the construction of a playground and butterfly garden at her son's school. On May 7, 2004, shortly after her diagnosis of cancer, Pam's Playground and Butterfly Garden opened on the school grounds and was dedicated to her.

Pam embraced life with enthusiasm; she was an avid gardener, cook, book-reader, crafts-maker and lover of the arts. She also loved the Florida beaches and on July 26, 2004, she traveled with her husband and son to Captiva Island Beach, FL to see the ocean for the last time. Pam will be missed by her family and friends for her beautiful smile, her energy and persistence, and her love of life.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Pell City, AL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church, Ragland, AL with burial to follow in the Methodist Church Cemetery, Ragland, AL. Flowers may be sent to Kilgroe Funeral Home or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be: Reid Alexander of Pell City, AL, Alex Seales formerly of Pell City, AL, Chris King of Birmingham, AL, Ray Bonner of Trussville, AL, David Ford of Ragland, AL and Larry Davis, formerly of Ragland, AL.

ANN E. FULLER

WILSONVILLE — Graveside service for Ann E. Fuller, 85, will be Thursday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Minister Joseph Parker officiating.

Mrs. Fuller died Aug. 22 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Duran, Ga.

She is survived by son, Wayne C. Fuller and wife Margaret of Wilsonville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

EVA SINGLETON HARVEY

Eva Singleton Harvey, age 96, died August 24, 2004. Mrs. Harvey lived all her life in Pell City, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late William Lafayette Singleton and Lucy Nevels Hindsmar Singleton. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Chester Harvey and son Michael Singleton Harvey. Mrs. Harvey is survived by her son Albert Thomas Harvey and daughter Elizabeth Harvey Stelzenmuller, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Harvey was the oldest member of the First United Methodist Church of Pell City.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 26 from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home with a graveside service at 11:30 at Valley Hill Cemetery in Cropwell. Family and friends are invited to visit the family at the home following the service — 1109 1st Avenue North, Pell City.

Kilgroe Funeral Home-Pell City will direct the service.

ALBERTA L. HAWKINS

GOODWATER — Funeral service for Alberta L. Hawkins, 79, will be Thursday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church in Goodwater with the Rev. Raymond Angel officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Mrs. Hawkins died Aug. 22 at Coosa Valley BMC in Sylacauga. She was born Jan. 21, 1925 in Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Leonard and Margie Crayton Leonard.

She is survived by daughter, Carrie D. Hawkins of Goodwater; sons, James Hawkins of Sylacauga and Tommie Hawkins, Benjamin Hawkins and Denver Hawkins of Goodwater; sisters, Karene McKinney of Goodwater and Betty Jo Davis of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers, the Rev. Albrey Leonard of Sylacauga and Samuel Leonard of Bedford, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Armour's Memorial Funeral Home will direct the service.

GEORGE A. JOINER

CROPWELL — Funeral service for George A. "Buddy" Joiner, 61, will be Thursday, Aug. 26, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Bobby Praytor officiating. Burial will be in Valley Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Joiner died Aug. 23 in Pell City. He retired from Local Union No. 91 after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Joiner of Cropwell; daughter, Lisa Joiner of Cropwell; son, Stan Joiner of Homewood; and grandchildren, Jessica Thompson, Gregory Joiner and Rebecca Joiner.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brothers of Local Union No. 91 will serve as pallbearers.

Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

LAURA MOORE

MUNFORD — Funeral service for Laura Moore, 81, will be Friday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Munford.

Mrs. Moore died Aug. 23 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Dixon Lackey and Leon Lackey.

She is survived by son, Bobby E. Lackey of Munford; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Helen Jackson.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

PATSY LOUISE PEPPERS

JACKSON'S GAP — Funeral service for Patsy Louise Peppers, 47, will be Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain James A. McKibbin officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Peppers died Aug. 23 at her residence. She was born July 11, 1956, to Elbert Watkins and Berna Lee Bence. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Watkins; and one daughter, Tammy Diane Peppers.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Peppers of Jackson's Gap; her mother, Berna Watkins of Jackson's Gap; son, Dewayne Peppers of Jackson's Gap; daughters, Glenda Manley of Buttston and Kimberly Peppers of Jackson's Gap; surrogate daughter, Nicole Lipscomb of Jackson's Gap; brother, Earl Watkins of Jackson's Gap; sister, Dora Jean Haggerty of Jackson's Gap; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family requests no flowers but donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.

Heritage Chapel Funeral Home in Alexander City will direct the service.
