FRED BAILEY
CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Fred "Neal" Bailey, 77, was Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Tommy Reaves officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery
in Brent.
Mr. Bailey died July 28 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bailey of Childersburg; son, Fred Bailey Jr. of Childersburg; daughter, Gail May of Newnan, Ga.; granddaughter, Dawn Cotter of Brasselton, Ga.; grandsons, Jim Thompson of Pelham, Brandon Bailey of Childersburg and Daniel Bailey of Childersburg; granddaughter, Brittney Bailey of Childersburg; great-granddaughters, Bailey and Abby Cotter of Brasselton, Ga.; sister, Viola Duncan of Brent; and brother, Carnell Bailey of Centreville.
The family requests no flowers but contributions to the building fund at Marble City Baptist Church, 1512 Quarry Road, Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.
Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga directed the service.
MARTHA FRANCES CASTLEBERRY
PELL CITY — Funeral service for Martha Frances Castleberry, 79, will be Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Wayne Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Mrs. Castleberry died Aug. 9. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Castleberry; son, Jerry Castleberry; and her parents, Herman and Mary Bradley.
She is survived by daughters, Ruth (Bobby) Davis, Mildred Wilson and Beverly (George) Pasvantis; sons, John W. Castleberry, Ronald (Susie) Castleberry and Sidney (Vickie) Castleberry; sister, Edith Elders; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Davis, Wallace Wilson, Kevin Castleberry and Jerry Castleberry Jr.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.

TALLADEGA — Graveside service for Edna Ceola Wright Conn, 86, was Monday, July 9, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery
with the Rev. David Lawrence officiating.
Mrs. Conn died Aug. 7 at Adams Nursing Home.
She is survived by daughter, Ann McGrady and husband Robert of Sycamore; and grandchildren, Bob McGrady and David McGrady.
Pallbearers were Bob McGrady, David McGrady, Jeff McGrady, Ronald McGrady, Chris McGrady and Tim McGrady.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel directed the service.
MARY JOSEPHINE GAMBLE GEORGE
Jackson — Funeral service for Mary Josephine Gamble George, 65, was Saturday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. George died July 28 at University Medical Center. She was a waitress at the Elite Restaurant for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her mother, Eula B. Harder of Jackson; daughters, Charlene Coleman of Pell City and Sharron True of Trussville; son, Telmon George of Talladega; grandchildren, Jennifer Leatherwood of Calera, Kyle Stevens of Mt. Olive, Lorraine Coleman of Birmingham, Megan Harris of Pell City, Cheri George and Timothy George of Talladega; great-grandchild, Maggie Leatherwood; brother, Walter Glenn Gamble of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home directed the service.
MARY NELL LEVERTON
RIVERSIDE — Funeral service for Mary Nell Leverton, 71, will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Ted Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Leverton died Aug. 8 at her residence. She was a member of Temple Praise in Gadsden. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John B. Leverton of Riverside; daughter, Dianne (Paul) Holley of Attalla; sons, John B. "Benny" Leverton Jr. (Paula) of Pell City and Randy Leverton (Letha) of Pell City; brother, Henry O. Nation Jr. (Boots) of Warrior; grandchildren, Lisa, Tamara, Michael, Eric, Shea, Daniel, Tabatha, Hailey, Rob, Kenneth, Cody and Clint; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bradley, Jonathan, Shealei, Maggi and Lexi.

SYLACAUGA — Memorial service for Lee A. Lynch, 55, will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 4 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Billy Epperson officiating.
Mr. Lynch died Aug. 7 at Coosa Valley BMC.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Lynch of Sylacauga; sons, Rusty Lynch of Nashville, Tenn., and Kippy Lynch of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughters, Leigh Lynch of Old Hickory, Tenn., Christy Lynch of Albertville and Dusty Lynch of Memphis, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.

TALLADEGA — Lawrence McGraw, 64, of 138 Baker St., died Aug. 7 at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, Ga.

ELVIN LEE SAFFOLD
ALEXANDER CITY — Funeral service for Elvin Lee Saffold, 67, will be Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald DeLee officiating. Burial will be in Hollins Cemetery.
Mr. Saffold died Aug. 6 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on July 10, 1937 in Talladega County to Ever Louis Saffold and Effie Mae Jones Saffold. He was self-employed as a cabinet builder and was a member of West End Baptist Church, the D.A.V. and American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dot Jenkins Saffold; his parents; and brother, Melvin Saffold.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley W. Saffold of Alexander City; sons, Timothy Saffold of Hawaii, Jerry Saffold of Chesapeake, Va., and Keith Saffold of Boston, Mass.; daughters, Sherry Saffold of Albany, Ga., and Melanye Morris of Sylacauga; 12 grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Saffold of Childersburg; sister, Dorothy Camp of Hollins; and stepchildren, Michael Yates and Tammy Edwards of Opelika and Donna Bush of Birmingham.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

SPRINGVILLE — Funeral service for Emma Jean Walker, 77, will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at Springville First Baptist Church with Brother Ed Massey and Brother Keith Wrenn officiating. Burial will be in Springville Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker died Aug. 7 at her residence. She was a lifelong member of Springville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Julia Higginbotham; and her sister, Mary Virginia Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred L. Walker of Springville; daughter, Melanie Keith (Don) of Trussville; son, Terry Walker (Charlotte) of Springville; grandchildren, Ty Keith of Birmingham, Ginger Higginbotham of Columbus, Miss., and Terry Wayne Walker of Springville; and great-grandson, Jacob Higginbotham of Columbus, Miss.
