HOWARD WILLIAM LACKEY
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Howard William Lackey, 91, of Talladega, will be Monday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. at Ironaton Church of Christ with the Rev. Cliff Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Lackey died July 30, at Lineville Nursing Home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He retired from S&R Lumber Company and was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma G. Lackey.
He is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Folsom of Munford, Wilma Hooper of Silver Run, Jacqueline Christensen of Juneau, Alaska, and Gwen Wyatt of Clairmont Springs; one son, Jim Lackey of Ironaton; three sisters, Velma East of Talladega, Margie and Nell Lackey of Munford; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Tyrone and Alan Hooper, Joey Reinier, Scott Lackey, John Daily and Steve Weldon.
Men of Ironaton Church of Christ will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the Talladega Funeral Home.
Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.
JON WILLIAM LEE
SYLACAUGA — Graveside service for Jon William Lee, 62, of Sylacauga will be Monday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery. The service will be a private ceremony for the family only.
Mr. Lee died July 30 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He leaves behind many friends at Alabama Diabetes. Association.
He is survived by two brothers, Leslie (Stephanie) Lee Jr. of Sylacauga and Charles J. (Mona) Lee of Sylacauga; one sister, Nicole (Donald) Haynes of Kahatchie; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
MARY JEANETTE NOBLES
SYLACAUGA — Mary Jeanette Nobles, 71, of Port St. Joe, Fla., passed away Friday, July 30, 2004 at her residence.
Mrs. Nobles was a longtime Port St. Joe resident, having moved to the area in 1954 from Sylacauga.
Mrs. Nobles was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Nobles of Port St. Joe; three sons, Teedy Nobles and his wife, Jan, of Port St. Joe, Rodney Nobles and his wife, Julie, of Niceville, Fla., and Barry Nobles and his, wife Jan, of Port St. Joe; one brother, O.J. Barnett and his wife, Nita, of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Sally Aaron and her husband, Walls, of Sylacauga, Jean Jones of Port St. Joe, Christine Adams and her husband, Virgil, of Sylacauga; six grandchildren, Bobby Nobles, Melissa Ramsey, Krista Nobles, Cody Nobles, Lindsey Nobles and Holly Nobles; four great-grandchildren, Katie Nobles, Austin Nobles, Rainey Nobles and Erica Ramsey.
Funeral service for Mrs. Nobles will be held at 2 p.m. EST, Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe with Rev. Brent Vickery, Rev. David Fernandez and Rev. Howard Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. EST, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at the church.
The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers: John Rich, Bobby Nobles, Cody Nobles, Carl Philips, Mike Burkett, Harry Smith, Harold Hinote and Eric Ramsey.
The family of Mrs. Nobles will be staying at 1620 Palm Blvd., Port St. Joe.

VINCENT — Graveside service for Michael "Bubble" Slettvet, 18, of Vincent will be Monday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. in Oak Ridge Cemetery
in Pell City.
Mr. Slettvet died July 29 in Ashville.
He is survived by his son, Cameron Slettvet; his mother, Diann Slettvet; his father, Larry Slettvet; four sisters, Tracy Slettvet, Angela (Brian) Slettvet, Misty (Jerry) Shore and Sandra Slettvet; two brothers, Wade Slettvet and Joey Slettvet; and grandparents, Douglas (Sue) Baker, Shelby (Justin) Stansell and Archie Slettvet.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

MITTIE BLOUNT
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mittie Blount, 89, will be Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Childersburg with the Rev. Calvin Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery
in Sylacauga.
Mrs. Blount died July 31 at Adams Nursing Home in Alexander City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lee Blount; her parents, James and Irene Oden Player; sister, Mildred Player; and brother, James Player.
She is survived by niece, Eloise Scott of Sylacauga; aunt, Vera Norman of Fairfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
Deacons of Enon Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Westview Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
KATHRYN JONES
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Kathryn Jones, 91, of 303 Brooks Road, will be Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home chapel in Sylacauga with the Rev. Ralph Green officiating. Burial will be in Harpersville Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones died Aug. 1. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked in the kitchen at Chilton County Hospital and later was a sitter for homebound patients. She was born in Clanton and lived there throughout her life until moving to Sylacauga in 1989 to be closer to her family. She became a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon Headley and Nora Emma Headley; sister, Lera Headley; brothers, Albert Headley and H.O. Headley; and grandsons, Doug Milford and Frankie Milford.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Jones of Sylacauga; daughter, Betty Buttram of Sylacauga; son, Paul Ray Milford Sr. of Slapout; stepdaughter, Judy Simmons of Prattville; granddaughter, Mona Carden of Sylacauga; grandsons, James Milford of Slapout and Paul Ray Milford Jr. of Slapout; stepgranddaughter, Anita Simmons of Prattville; great-granddaughters, Timeka Baker of Harpersville and Brianna Milford of Slapout; and great-grandson, Patrick Milford of Slapout.
Pallbearers will be Billy Carden, James Baker, Patrick Milford, Charles Robinson, Thomas McGrady and Dowell Goodson.
Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga will direct the service.
JAMES LEE ADKINSON
ANNISTON — Funeral service for James "Moodo" Lee Adkinson, 66, will be Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Cecil Sewell and the Rev. David Gilmore officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Adkinson died July 31 at NHC Heath Care. He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of Saks Civitan Club, Indian Oaks Golf Club, JSU Gamecock Club, Gideon's International and First Baptist Church of Saks, where he taught Sunday school.
He is surived by his wife, Doris M. Adkinson of Anniston; son, Jason Adkkinson of Ohatchee; brothers, William E. Adkinson of Panama City, Fla., and Lanny Adkinson of White, Ga.; sister, Alyce Barnwell of Cassville, Ga.; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles White, Allen Norman, Buddy Nix, Tommy Parker, Bob Garner, Jim Fuller and Pete Turner.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Kingsmen Sunday School Class, Friends of JSU Athletics, JSU Gamecock Club and members and golfing friends at Indian Oaks Country Club.
