MINNIE VERA KELLY
BRANCHVILLE — Funeral service for Minnie Vera Kelly, 90, was Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Leeds. Burial was in Branchville Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelly died June 10. She was a lifelong resident of the Sanie community and was a member of Sanie Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie J. Kelly; son, Jerry J. Kelly; two grandsons, Brian and Richard Kelly; daughter-in-law, Libby (Lynn) Kelly; her parents, George T. and Beula McGuire; sisters, Elzanna Partridge, Clara Clark and Jewell Stokes; and brothers, Leonard McGuire and George T. McGuire Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Jean Steed, Carolyn Davis (Jim), Irene Rock (Lowell) and Ruth Nichols (Jimmy); sons, Lawson Kelly, Willie Kelly (Shirley) and Ray Kelly; sister-in-law, Cleo McGuire; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds directed the service.

OHATCHEE — Funeral service for Corine Milton, 92, will be Wednesday, June 16, at 2 p.m. at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ohatchee with John James officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church Cemetery
in Ohatchee.
Mrs. Milton died June 8 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Ohatchee and a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by sons, Ferrie Montgomery of Ohatchee and George Montgomery of Stoughton, Mass.; daughters, Johnnie L. Cox of Anniston, Clara Johnson of Boston, Mass., Edna Hadrick of Boston, Mass., Bessie Brewster of Alexandria, Zola Blackburn of Ohatchee, Willie Mae Davis of Talladega and Willie L. Eskridge of Ohatchee; sister, Katie Irene Curry of Boston, Mass.; brother, Paul Sturkie of Ohatchee; 41 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Mildred Johnson, 74, will be Thursday, June 17, at 1 p.m. at Kelly Springs Baptist Church in Talladega with the Rev. L.L. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Kelly Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died June 12 at Talladega Health Care Center. She was a lifelong resident of Alabama and a member of Kelly Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Martiz Johnson of Japan; daughters, Gloria Johnson and Dawnya Thomas of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Lorene Bell of Detroit, Mich., and Ollie Jean Simmons of Talladega; and nine grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

RAGLAND — Funeral service for Lester Cleo "Cotton" Phillips, 63, will be Thursday, June 17, at 3 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in Providence Baptist Cemetery
in Ragland.
Mr. Phillips died June 14 in Pell City. He was a lifelong resident of Ragland and retired from National Cement in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Phillips of Ragland; daughters, Lynn Denise Phillips and Kerry Regina (Brandon) Poe, all of Ragland; his mother, Katie Phillips of Ragland; sisters, Lillie Mae Craven, Ruby Lee DiGiacoma and Janie Sue Bowlin, all of Ragland; brothers, Lonzo Phillips Jr., Elbert Paul "Boots" Phillips, Lomer Ray "Red" Phillips, J.L. Phillips and Larry Gene Phillips, all of Ragland; grandson, Seth "Little Man" Poe of Ragland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Gene Phillips, Glenn Phillips, Bruce Phillips, Randy Phillips, David Oliver, Timmy Oliver and Marvin Graham.
Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
