JOY ANNE ODOM
SYLACAUGA — Graveside service for Joy Anne Odom, 73, of Sylacauga will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery
with the Rev. Stephen Young officiating.
Mrs. Odom died Feb. 13 at her residence.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Odom of Sylacauga; three sons, John Odom Jr. of Sylacauga, Kenneth Odom of Sylacauga and David Odom of Delta; one daughter, Elizabeth Stewart of Clanton; two brothers, George Argo of Crown Point, Ind., and Raymond Argo of Centennial, Colo.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel.

KATHERINE M. STRINGER PORTERA
BIRMINGHAM — Funeral service for Katherine M. Stringer Portera, 77, of Birmingham, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel with Dr. Neal Schooley officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Chapel.
Mrs. Portera died Feb. 12. A native of Talladega, she was a resident of Regency Cove Retirement Community in Birmingham and member of Dawson Baptist Church. She retired from the Homewood City School System, and was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Auxiliary in Birmingham.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Major John Portera (ret.); three sons, James Stringer, Robert Stringer and David Stringer; three daughters, Virginia Gilbert, Elizabeth Tinney and LaDonna Portera Hassinger; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Joseph Bruno Cancer Center or the cancer charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ridout's Valley Chapel Funeral Home will direct the service.

TALLADEGA — Everline Richey, 72, of Talladega died Feb. 13 at her residence.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary.
MARY EVELYN SCARBROUGH
LINEVILLE — Funeral service for Mary Evelyn Scarbrough, 74, of Lineville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Talley officiating. Burial will be in Lineville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Scarbrough died Feb. 11 at her residence.
She was a native of Clay County, a former resident of Oxford, but moved back to Clay County in 1977. She was a homemaker and was employed by Fair Store for 10 years. She was the owner and operator of Washerteria in Oxford for five years and was a member of Lineville First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Eldon McDonald of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lester Bob McDonald of Jonesboro, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gurvas A. "Scotty" Scarbrough.
Pallbearers will be Bob Willis, Frank Moore, Lloyd Sparks, Harold Stanford, Cook Character, Wayne Creed and Tommy Hudson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Lineville Class of 1949, Sunshine Club of Lineville First United Methodist Church and Winnie Huckabey Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lineville First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 10 a.m. until service time.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Amos Eugene "Tot" Stacey, 83, of Birmingham, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors, with the Rev. Ray Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Stacey died Feb. 12 at his residence. A native of Alexander City, he retired from the U.S. Army after some 20 years of service.
He is survived by three sisters, Sue McGary of Childersburg, Margaret Cargile of Fultondale and Gertrude Bivin of Hollins; one brother, Donald D. Stacey Sr. of Childersburg; and one sister-in-law, Billie Stacey of Childersburg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Deason, Terry Lackey, Billy Phillips and Donny Jackson.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

SYLACAUGA — Sarah Nell Turney, 74, of Sylacauga died Feb. 13 at her residence.

ALEX CITY — Funeral service for Elizabeth Waver, 81, of Alex City, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Godfrey Methodist Church with the Rev. Shirleen Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Godfrey Cemetery.
Miss Waver died Feb. 11 at Russell Medical Center.
She is survived nephew Thomas J. (Linda) Tuck of East Point, Ga., and niece Franzetta Judkins of Alex City; special caregivers William B. and Aline Wyckoff and Mary W. Fernandez all of Alex City; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

ALPINE — John Williams, 82, of Alpine, died Feb. 13 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

HATTIE MAE YOUNGBLOOD
VINCENT — Funeral service for Hattie Mae Youngblood, 79 of Vincent will be at noon Monday at Baker Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Baker Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Youngblood died Feb. 11 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham.
She was a member of Baker Grove Baptist Church where she served in various positions. She was a Worthy Matron of the Lillie B. Chapter No. 582 Order of Eastern Star, Grand District Deputy District No. 5 of the Heroines of Jericho, the Golden Circle No. 202 and secretary of the Order of Eastern Star Council. Her community and civic involvement included the Alabama Democratic Conference, the Community Civic League and the E.C. Gaston Energizers.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Youngblood; five daughters, Shirley Abrams, Marion Curry, Sharon Smith, Cheri Dates and Helen Smith; one brother, Clyde McGraw; four grandchildren, two aunts and a host of other relatives.
Masonic Brothers will serve as pallbearers.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour before the service.
Sims Funeral Service will direct the service.
KIMBERLY ANN CHAMPION
MUNFORD — Funeral service for Kimberly Ann Champion, 34, of Munford will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Munford Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Forman officiating. Burial be follow in Munford Cemetery.
Ms. Champion died Feb. 13 at her residence.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Munford. She graduated from Munford Development Center.
She is survived by her parents Charles and Robera Champion of Munford; two sisters, Dawn Champion of Lincoln and Beverly Champion of Munford; two brothers, Shane Champion of Leeds and Wade Champion of Munford; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be brothers and sisters and Erik Roberson and Chaz Champion.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to United Cerebral Palsy or Cystic Fibrosis foundations.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home.
