MARY SADDLER
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Mary Saddler, 93, of Sylacauga will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Harris officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Saddler died Jan. 14 at Baptist Coosa Valley Nursing Home. A native of Talladega County, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the Senior Choir and was a deaconess. She was president emeritus of the General Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Saddler.
She is survived by two sons, John H. Saddler of Sylacauga and the Rev. George F. Saddler of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four daughters, Juanita Long of Sylacauga, Lillian Lawrence of Talladega, Mae Eva Threatt of Birmingham and Pauline Hamlette of Ft. Washington, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Deacons of New Hope Baptist Church will be pallbearers.
Madden's Funeral Service will direct the service.

THORSBY — Graveside service for Quita Faye Robinson, 39, of Thorsby will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery
in Jemison with the Rev. Matt Davis officiating.
Mrs. Robinson died Jan. 9 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
She is survived by one son, Charlie Robinson of Clanton; one daughter, Misty Bartlett of Childersburg; and two sisters, Susan Thornton of Thorsby and Lisa Nicholson of Clanton.
Martin Funeral Home of Clanton will direct the service.

SYLACAUGA — Franklin Whetstone, 69, of Sylacauga died Jan. 16 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center in Sylacauga.

PELL CITY — Funeral service for Julia Grimmer, 75, of Pell City will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. James Dendy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Grimmer died Jan. 15 in Pell City. She was preceded in death by Johnny Williams.
She is survived by one sister, Barbara Grill of Pell City; one brother, James L. Looser of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Freda Henderson of Littleton, Col.; one stepson, Russell Williams of Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

ALEXANDER CITY — Funeral service for Christopher L. Russell, 20, of Anahuac, Texas, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church in Dadeville with the Rev. Lindsey Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in Dadeville City Cemetery.
Mr. Russell died Jan. 10 in Anahuac, Texas.
He is survived by one son, Jayvan C. Russell of Anahuac, Texas; his mother Bobbie Russell of Anahuac, Texas; one brother, Timothy L. (Sonya) Russell of Anahuac, Texas; one sister, Charlene R. (Charles) LeDay; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

IMOGENE H. NEWBY
KILLEN — Funeral service for Imogene Hornsby Newby, 73, of Killen will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Elkins East Chapel in Center Star with the Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence.
Mrs. Newby died Jan. 16 at her home with her family and friends, following an extended illness. She was a much-loved wife, homemaker and mother for more than 54 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyce Rich Hornsby and Bennett Hornsby, and a sister, Sara Lightsey, all of Childersburg.
She is survived by her husband, William B. Newby Jr., of Killen; one son, William B. Newby III of Killen; one daughter, Vikki (Neil) Fievet of Hayden; grandchildren, William Newby IV of Decatur and Kelli and Karri Fievet of Hayden; sisters, Louise Hope of Chapel Hill, N.C., Mary Lou Wilson of Panama City, Fla., Essie Mae Jones of Huntsville, Bennie Jo Morris and Laney Blackerby of Childersburg; and one brother, Tom Hornsby of Southhaven, Miss.
The family will be accompanied by special friends, Linda McGee of Killen and Robbie Wilks of Florence.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family, Don Adams, Scott Butkis, Bob Eison, Gary Gamble, Jay Klos, Larry Moore, Pat Renegar and Terry Wylie.
Honorary pallbearers will include John Bibb, Jack Bradford, Nathan Brewer, Sandy Harrison, Matt Jones, John Jordan, Joe Killough, Odell Millsaps and Boyd Neblett.
The family is thankful for the prayers of her treasured friends of 40 years in Huntsville and 10 years in the Shoals. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hospice for their love and care given to Mrs. Newby.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

PELL CITY — Funeral service for infant Bailey Braden Pike of Pell City will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Kendall Bosman officiating. Burial will follow in Bowman Cemetery.
The infant died Jan. 15.
He is survived by his mother, Christie Pike Porter; grandparents, Bonnie and Danny Howell and Raymond "June Bug" Pike; great-grandparents, Earl and Betty Hilburn; and one sister, Charissa Holmes.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

JERRY DAN JOHNS
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Jerry Dan Johns, 62, of Talladega will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Paul McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega.
Mr. Johns died Jan. 15 at University Hospitals in Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County. He retired from BE&K Engineering in 1993 and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Faine Creek Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Daniel Johns, and a son, Jerry Dan John Jr.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna E. Johns of Pell City and Judy Johns (Heath) Gallagher; former spouse, JoAnn Johns Lowry of Leeds; mother, Syble Pauline Johns of Talladega; three sisters, Casey J. Blount of Tucker, Ga., Peggy Cappers of Long Valley, N.J., and Leone (Sutton) Dean of Talladega.
Pallbearers will be Paul McLaughlin, Ron Hamilton, Greg Achille, Bobby Don McCarter, Jeff Wright and Mike Gilmore.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

TALLADEGA — Lillian P. Felliston, 77, of 408 Shaw Ave., died Jan. 21 at her residence.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Agnes S. Forrest, 84, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Talladega with the Rev. Jimmy Nixon officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Forrest died Jan. 20 at Citizens BMC. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of Eureka Homemakers Club and was retired from Bemis Company. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Forrest.
She is survived by daughter, Margaret Stewart of Fairhope; sons, Larry Forrest and Edward Forrest of Talladega, Wayne Forrest of Mt. Olive, William "Billy" Forrest of Chesapeake, Va., and Howard Ray Forrest of Orange Park, Fla.; sisters, Seleta Thomaston and Virginia Moreland of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice in Alexander City.
Pallbearers will be Tom Thomaston, Don Thomaston, Steve Forrest, John Stewart, James Forrest and Terry Forrest.

RAGLAND — Funeral service for Luther Kay, 79, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford and the Rev. Curtis Fuller officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kay died Jan. 20.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Kay; daughters, Bertha Faye Higginbotham and husband Billy E., Brenda Morgan and husband Larry, Bonnie Jean Gearhart and Karen Jackson and husband Danny; son, Donald Kay and wife Vangie; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Sally Ann Reese.
