James
WEDOWEE — Services for Richard "Dick" James, 78, of Wedowee, will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. EST at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Chapel Hill Harvester Church in Atlanta with Archbishop Earl P. Paulk and Pastor James E. Powers officiating and Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mr. James died Sunday in Anniston.
King
CENTRE — Graveside services for infant Julia Marie King of Centre will be today at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Hill Cemetery
in Centre with Rev. Roy Daugherty officiating and Perry Funeral Home in charge.
The infant died Thursday at UAB Hospital.
Survivors include her parents, Michelle Ankerich and John Thomas King, both of Centre; and two brothers, Jacob and Jarod Ankerich, both of Centre.
Wallace
TALLADEGA — Services for Anthony Carlton "Pete" Wallace, 45, of Talladega, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Jacobs Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. W. Clinton Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery
with Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.
Mr. Wallace died Friday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, LaShon Jemison Wallace of Talladega; a step-daughter, LaShannon M. Jemison of Talladega; two step-sons, Mikel J. Jemison and Marta G. Jemison, both of Talladega; his mother, Barbara G. Reynolds of Talladega; his father, James C. Wallace of Talladega; his step-father, Hardy Reynolds Jr., of Talladega; a sister, Belinda Carmichael of Talladega; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Wallace of Atlanta.
Pallbearers will be friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Stewards and Trustees of Jacobs Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Mr. Wallace, a 1977 graduate of Talladega High School, attended Nunnelly Technical College. He was veteran of the Army and a member of Jacobs Chapel C.M.E. Church. He was formerly employed by Tyson Foods, Crown Textiles, The Daily Home, and was a self-employed electrician.
Watts
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Memorial services for Raynae "Ray" Watts, 68, of Douglasville, Ga., will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Manning Chapel in Lineville.
Mr. Watts died March 14 in Douglasville.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold Watts and Willie "Booty" Watts and his wife, Margaret; a sister, Caroline Watts; four sons, Barry, Butch, Bill and Paul Watts; and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Amy, Levi, Michael, Renee, Austin, Whitney and Sarah Watts.
Mr. Watts was born in Clay County and was a carpenter. A 1956 graduate of Alexandria High School, he was an All-American basketball player in 1955-56, having set many scoring records that still remain today. He attended the University of Tulsa on a full basketball scholarship, where he set a freshman record for scoring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hattie Watts; a daughter, Sherry Watts; and his wife, Tracey Watts.
Clark
OXFORD -- Services for Sylvia E. Clark, 62, of Oxford will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clark died Sunday at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Larry C. Clark of Oxford; a son, Cole Clark and his wife, Patty, of White Bear Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Jill Clark of Columbia, S.C., and Shelly Williams and her husband, Scott, of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Clark, Ashley Clark, Emily Clark, Rachel Williams, Holly Williams, Brooke Williams and Brittney Williams; a sister, Pat Reid of Jacksonville; an aunt, Ellen Reaves; and two nephews, Frank Reid and Bill Reid.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Clark, Eric Doss, Frank Reid, Bill Reid, Buddy Reaves and Jerry Reaves.
Mrs. Clark was a member of First United Methodist Church of Oxford, retired from civil service at Fort McClellan, and a real estate agent. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eschol and Elizabeth Spires, a grandmother, Flora Williams; and two brothers, John Spires and Jeffrey Mark Spires.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Oxford.
Dargin
TALLADEGA -- Services for Louise Dargin, 96, of Talladega will be announced by Sims Funeral Service.
Ms. Dargin died Sunday in Lincoln.
Graham
CENTRE -- Services for Lois Dell King Graham, 80, of Centre will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jim Wright and Randel Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight.
Mrs. Graham died Saturday at Cherokee Baptist Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, John B. Graham; a son, John Larry Graham and his wife, Sue, of Centre; a daughter, Rebecca Cindy Graham Sisco and her husband, Louis, of Huntsville; three sisters, Hazel King Warren of Ft. Olgethorpe, Ga., Gaye King Johnson of Albertville, and Sheila King Everett of Newport News, Va.; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Maggie Sisco.
Mrs. Graham was a Marshall County native. She was a retired educator, a member of Centre First Baptist Church, WMU, Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s sorority, and the Alabama Education Association.
Memorials may be made to Centre First Baptist Church or the family will accept flowers.
Harry
WEDOWEE -- Services for Alice L. Harry, 92, of Wedowee will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Wedowee with Revs. Gary Henderson and Earl Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedowee City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 today and 6-8 tonight at Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee and until the time of service Tuesday.
Mrs. Harry died Sunday at the Lineville Nursing Facility.
Survivors include two daughters, Edyth H. Payne and her husband, Alon, of Powder Springs, Ga., and Evelyn Rollins and her husband, J.O., of Wedowee; a sister, Kate Kelley of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Lee, Tom Burnside, Jeff Sentell, Jeff Payne, Alon Payne, and Don Pallas.
Mrs. Harry was a native of Randolph County and a member of the First United Church of Wedowee, the Eastern Star, U.M.C. Women’s Club, and the Wedowee Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Harry; a grandson, Mark Rollins; and her parents, Robert E. Lee and Carrie Hodge Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Hunt
HOKES BLUFF -- Services for John Berry Hunt, 62, of Hokes Bluff will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ecil Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight.
Mr. Hunt died Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Shaw Hunt; four sons, Scott Hunt and his wife, Denise, and Tab Hunt and his wife, Terrie, all of Webster’s Chapel, and Tim Hunt and Mark Hunt, both of Hokes Bluff; two daughters, Kerry Chasteen of Talladega, and Sandy Lowe and her husband, Andy, of Centre; a sister, Sherry McGatha and her husband, Kenneth, of Piedmont; nine grandchildren, Guy Hunt, Danielle Hunt, Chase Hunt, Adam Chasteen, Kassey Chasteen, Tiffany Wagnon and her husband, Will, Ty Hunt, Shaley Hunt, and Taylor Lowe; a great grandchild; special family, Wayne Jordan and Jenny Gray; and two nieces, Tina Lightsey and Stacy Haney.
Pallbearers include Aaron Collins, Joe Allen, Donald Pollard, Alan McMahan, Steve Nunn, Don Sexton, Charles Bobbitt, and Anthony Daugherty.
Mr. Hunt was a native of Cherokee County, but had lived in Etowah County several years. He was a member of the Gnattville Baptist Church and a career brick mason for 45 years. Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Faye Hunt; and his parents, Louis Morrison and Wilma Estes Hunt.
Kellum
LINEVILLE -- Services for Horace Kellum, 83, of Lineville will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Charlie Bolt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and until the time of service Wednesday.
Mr. Kellum died Sunday at the Clay County Hospital.
Thomas
Services for Brenda Thomas, 58, of Anniston will be announced by Chapel Hill Funeral Home of Anniston.
Mrs. Thomas died Sunday at Regional Medical Center.
Castleberry
Services for James T. Castleberry, 73, of Anniston will be 2 p.m. today at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Revs. Harold Payne and Malcolm Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Castleberry died Saturday at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include five sons, Fred Castleberry and his wife, Faye, and Crickett Castleberry, all of Woodland, Ronnie Castleberry of Anniston, Larry Castleberry of Ranburne, and Frank Castleberry and his wife, LynnAnn of Plant City, Fla.; five daughters, Gail Washington of Winder, Ga., Debra Morris of Rome, Ga., Glenda Signor and her husband, Albert, of Oxford, Karen Lam and her husband, Yung, of Oxford and Denise Turley and her husband, Kevin of Anniston; a brother, Carl Castleberry of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Jettie Mae Shaw of Wetumpka, Geraldine Swann of Fort Worth, Texas and Hazel Castleberry of Florida; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Zackery Castleberry, Christopher Castleberry, James Castleberry, Christopher Woods, Jeremy Morris and David Wright.
Mr. Castleberry was a resident of Calhoun County. He was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Castleberry, his parents, J.T. Castleberry and Exie Castleberry, a brother, Shorty Castleberry, and a sister, Pauline Wiggins.
Chandler
TALLADEGA — Memorial services for Paul Joseph Chandler, 52, of Talladega will be 2 p.m. Monday at Talladega Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Brown officiating.
Mr. Chandler died May 5 in DeerField Beach, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Faye Chandler of Talladega; a stepson, Brandon Horn of Talladega; three sisters, Jane Nieson and Barbie Duncan, both of Calhoun County, and Minnie Hester of Talladega County; and a brother, Douglas Chandler of Talladega County.
Mr. Chandler was a Talladega County native, and lived there most of his life. He was a computer technician and a Baptist.
Dark
TALLADEGA - Services for Willie Dark, 68, of Talladega will be announced by Terry’s Metropolitan Mortuary.
Mr. Dark died Saturday at his home.
