BETTY HUBBARD MORROW
TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Betty Hubbard Morrow, 68, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Morrow died Dec. 3 at Brookwood Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was retired from the Palm Beach Company and Bemiston Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Morrow.
She is survived by son, Michael Lynn Morrow and wife Connie of Talladega; her mother, Mrs. Oma T. Hubbard of Talladega; sisters, Mrs. Joyce H. Ferrell and Mrs. Rachel Gaither, both of Talladega; brothers, Bobby Gene Hubbard and Joe Hubbard, both of Talladega; and grandchildren, Emily and Eric Shierling.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lester Allen, Wayne Taylor, Sammy Taylor, Roger Davis and Hubert Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Hubbard, Leon Nix, Donald Hubbard, Dr. Jimmy Davis, Dr. Larry Dye and the staff at Usrey Funeral Home.
Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
IRENE PHIFER
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Irene Phifer, 94, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bruce O. Alford officiating. Burial will be in the Sylacauga Cemetery.
Mrs. Phifer died Dec. 1 at Brookwood Medical Center. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and had been active in Sunday school and the Senior Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Allen Phifer Sr. and five daughters, Josephine Phifer, Beaulah Williams, Lyda P. Woods, Annie D. Wallace and Bessie L. Christian.
She is survived by sons, Veston Phifer (Evelyn) of Columbus, Ga., and Allen (Sonny) Phifer of Sylacauga; and daughters, Ora L. Brown, Irene McGhee, Daisy M. Hart and Alva Phifer of Sylacauga and Eloise Forney of Inglewood, N.J.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Madden's Funeral Service will direct the service.
JAMES D. LOGGINS
PELL CITY — Funeral service for James D. Loggins, 82, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Locust Fork. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Loggins died Dec. 3.
He is survived by his wife, Jean V. Loggins; sons, David (Jeffrey) Loggins of Fayetteville, Ga., and James Robert Loggins of Pell City; daughter, Janice D. Stadler of Sylacauga; sister, Anna Merle Sherer of Jasper; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the church from 1 until 2 p.m.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

KATHERINE H. ROBERTS
GROVES, Texas — Funeral service for Katherine H. Roberts, 87, will be Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Talladega with the Rev. Robert Blackwell officiating.
Mrs. Roberts died Nov. 29 at Christus St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. She was born June 30, 1916, in Birmingham, was a former resident of Chicago, Ill., and Talladega. She had lived in Groves for the past five years. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Talladega. She was also a longtime member of the Central School PTA and also belonged to the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a direct descendent of Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. She was a member of the Delta Omicron Sorority and a classical music DJ for a local radio station for a number of years. She received her degree from the Chicago Conservatory School of Music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Wells Hall and Katherine Burt Forney; her husband, Dr. Edward H. Roberts; and a granddaughter, Michelle Powell.
She is survived by her children, Kate Noble Roberts Powell of Virginia, Edward H. Roberts Jr. of Talladega, David Hall Roberts M.D. of Talladega, Jennifer Suzanne Roberts Fairchild of Groves, Texas, Jean Middleton Roberts Tate of Talladega and Duncan MacGlaughin Roberts of Tuscaloosa; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the church parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Katherine Roberts' Fund for Animals, P.O. Box 765, Groves, Texas, 77619 or to St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Talladega.
Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will be in charge of the local arrangements.
Broussard's Mortuary, Nederland, will direct the service.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Nan Treadwell Anderson, 92, formerly of Ashland, died Dec. 5 at Cypress Court Assisted Living in Smyrna, Ga.

BUDDY CARROLL
PELL CITY — Funeral service for Willis M. "Buddy" Carroll, 69, was Thursday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Jerome Allen and the Rev. David Houston officiating. Burial was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Carroll died Dec. 2. He was an electrician with Carroll Electric. He was a Baptist by faith, was loved by all who knew him and was preceded in death by his sister, Adele Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Tommie Jo Carroll of Pell City; daughter, Tina Bagby (John) of Italy; stepdaughter, Christie (Ronnie) Howell of Pell City; son, Mike Carroll of Lincoln; stepsons, Bobby (Dawn) Waldrop, Jimmy (Cindy) Waldrop and Jeremy Waldrop, all of Pell City; half-brother, Royce Carroll of Pell City; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Alan Graham, Wade Graham, Brandon Ham, Shay Pierce, Larry Rich, Joey Bunt, Michael Bunt and Danny Howell.
Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.

TALLADEGA — Funeral service for Richard Penson Coker, 81, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Talladega Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Barber officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Coker died Dec. 5 at Bill Nichol's State Veterans Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Coker, and a son, Dickey Coker. He was a native of St. Clair County and had lived most of his life in Talladega County. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot, was a veteran of World War II, was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by daughter, Linda Abrams and husband Millard of Clanton; son, Scott Coker of Gulf Shores; grandchildren, David Abrams and Stacey Moten; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie Abrams, Savannah Abrams, Baylee Abrams and Randi Moten.
Pallbearers will be Randy Cochran, Kerry Cochran, Milton Cochran, Wendell Herrington, Danny Herrington and Jon Duke.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m.
Talladega Funeral Home will direct the service.

CRAGFORD — Funeral service for Bulah L. Dunaway, 76, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home chapel in Lineville with the Rev. Zenus Windsor, the Rev. Chaude Bennett and the Rev. Raymond Long officiating. Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Dunaway died Dec. 4 at Clay County Hospital. She was a native of Coffee County and had lived most of her life in Clay County. She was employed with Higgins Slacks Manufacturing Company for more than 27 years and was a member of Cragford Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Worth Dunaway of Cragford; daughter, Betty S. Griffin of Cragford; sons, Charlie G. Dunaway of Cragford, Henry L. Dunaway of Ashland, Tommy Dunaway of Clayton, N.C., and Jerry J. Dunaway of Ashland; sisters, Jackie Newsom of Phenix City and Verlyn Betts of Childersburg; brothers, Emory Owens of Shiloh, Ga., and Kenneth Owens of Columbus, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Griffin, Derick Griffin, David Dunaway, Michael Dunaway, Jason Dunaway, Jerry Dunaway, Earl Cochran and Scott Fullington.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home until service time.

SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Laura H. Thomas, 91, will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Arzell Hyche officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas died Dec. 4 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Thomas. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was employed at Sylacauga Hospital as an aide for several years.
She is survived by son, Lavoid Thomas of Sylacauga; sister, Lorine Rice of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Andy McGrady, Ronnie McGrady, Marshall McGrady, Mike Miller, James Spencer and Doyle Johnson.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
DALLAS WOLFE
ASHLAND — Funeral service for Dallas "Dan" Wolfe, 75, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Brother Warren Wilson and the Brother Steve Dyess officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wolfe died Dec. 5 at his residence. He was a native of Clay County, lived in Talladega from 1954 to 1967 then moved back to Clay County. He was a graduate of Clay County High School, was a Korean United States Army veteran and had been employed with Madix Store Furnishings in Goodwater. He was a Protestant by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Magelene Wolfe and a brother, Orville Wolfe.
He is survived by daughter, Martha Jean Hill of Ashland; sisters, Willie Maude Hayes of Ashland, Geneva Campbell of Heflin and Vestula Duncan of Montgomery; brother, D.L. Wolfe of Ashland; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wendell Wolfe, Michael Hayes, Allen McCain, Roger Harris, Joel Burch, Jim Sherrill, Alfred Simmons and Ed Searcey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Saturday and until one hour before the service on Sunday.
The body may be viewed at the church for one hour.
