MYRTLE FRANCES GILLUM
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Myrtle Frances Gillum, 82, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial will be in Weogufka Cemetery.
Mrs. Gillum died Nov. 26 at Coosa Valley BMC.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Abrams of Sylacauga and Loretta May of Marrero, La.; two sons, Hughey Collins of Jacksonville, Fla. and Robert Collins of Shepardsville, Ky.; one sister, Jewel Johnston of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Warren Thornton of Santa Barbara, Calif.; four grandchildren, Chris Mayo of New Boston, Texas; David Mayo and Tim Mayo of Sylacauga; and Edwin May of Marrero, La.; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
Friends and family will be pallbearers.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
MAURICE LISTER HUNT
CHILDERSBURG — Memorial service for Maurice Lister Hunt, 87, will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Childersburg with the Rev. Frank Young officiating.
Mr. Hunt died Nov. 27 at his residence.
He was the personnel director at Coosa River Newsprint Company, Southeastern Sales at Kimberly Clark and personnel director for David Foods in Atlanta. He was and actor on Broadway and community theaters and was a staff sergeant for the 21st Bombardment Wing of the U.S. Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Sharil Zarker Hunt of Childersburg; one son, Bruce Emerson Hunt of Birmingham; one daughter, Laura Hunt Bailey of Moody; three grandchildren, Brad Hunt of Crested Butt, Colo., Alan Hunt of Auburn and Melissa Taylor of Nashville, Tenn.
The family requests no flowers and suggests donations may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Childersburg Library or Lakeside Hospice, P.O. Box 544, Pell City, AL 35125.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence L. Bailey, Laura Bailey, Bruce Hunt, Nancy Hunt, Keith Zarker, Brad Hunt, Alan Hunt and Melissa Taylor.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the funeral service.

PELL CITY — Mary Frances Bunt, 77, of Pell City died Nov. 28.

MARY Gardner MYERS
DENVER, Colo. — A memorial service celebrating the life of former Sylacaugan, Mary "Jill" Gardner Myers will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary in Denver, Colo.
Mrs. Myers died Nov. 24 at Lutheran Medical Center at Wheat Ridge, Colo.
She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Sylacauga to Raymond and Marion Gardner of Gantts Quarry where her father was an owner of Alabama Marble Co.
She graduated from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., and taught school in Denver prior to her marriage to Frederick Myers.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Myers; two daughters, Laura Myers DiFraia and Elizabeth Myers Morse; three sons, Raymond Myers, Stephen Myers and Charles Myers; one brother Charlie Gardner of Sylacauga; three sisters, Charlotte Kassube and Virginia Gardner of Sylacauga and Rae Christian of Mobile; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Maxfunds, 1041 Galapago, Denver, Colo., 80206.
Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary will direct the service.
VIRGIE FRANCES ROBINSON
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Virgie Frances Robinson, 93, of Sylacauga will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Shevin Rock Baptist Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Tony McGrady officiating. Burial will be in Shevin Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson died Nov. 27 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center in Sylacauga.
She was born and raised in the Holly Springs community. She was a lifetime member of Shelvin Rock Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Douglas Robinson; one son James Douglas Robinson; and three grandchildren, Teresa Landers, Eddie Robinson and Charles Gary Landers.
She is survived by one daughter, Virbie Sue Landers, of Sylacauga; one son-in-law, Charles W. Landers, one brother, R.S. Blankenship of Avon Park, Fla.; two grandsons, Mike Landers of Fayetteville, and Douglas Robinson of New Orleans, La.; two great-grandchildren, Seth Landers and Chase Landers; daughter-in-law, Martha Robinson of Oak Grove; and close friend Cecile Jean Robinson of Fayetteville; two nephews and one niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Shelvin Rock Baptist Church or to one’s favorite charity.

PIEDMONT — Funeral service for Elvin A. Townsend, 73, of Piedmont will be Sunday a 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Jimmy Kennedy and the Rev. Rodney Ragsdale officiating.
Mr. Townsend died Nov. 27 at Jacksonville Medical Center. He was a former resident of Childersburg and had lived in Piedmont for the past 20 years. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 15 years of service. He and his wife, Alice, had celebrated 55 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mammie Townsend.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Townsend of Piedmont; two daughters, Kathy Owen of Norcross, Ga., and Susette Wesley of Childersburg; one son, Jerry Townsend of Piedmont; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

in West Glendale, Ariz.
Mrs. Samuels died Nov. 24 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Samuels.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgia Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Ruthie L. Taylor of Anniston, Hattie Williams of Childersburg and Pearl M. Taylor of Mountavalley; two brothers, William Lemon of Dallas, Texas, and J. W. Lemon of Childersburg; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

CHILDERSBURG — Funeral service for Marshell Merritt Foster, 51, of 59 Kymulga Circle, will be Monday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Threatt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Mrs. Foster died Nov. 27 at Princeton Baptist Montclair Hospital in Birmingham.
A native of Talladega County, she was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She also served as secretary for Sunday school, on the Usher Board and Red Circle. She was a graduate of Winterboro High School.
She is survived by her husband, Derry Foster, of Childersburg; one daughter, Kayla Foster, of Childersburg; one son, Cornelius Foster, of Childersburg; her mother, Lillie Merritt, of Talladega; four sisters, Gladys Cook and Gail Millender, both of Talladega, Janet Reynolds, of Childersburg and Sandy Smith, of Lineville; and three brothers, Willie B. Merritt, Ulysses Merritt and Jeffrey Merritt, all of Talladega.
Pallbearers will be nephews.

Mrs. Bowman died Nov. 26.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Ann Thompson; two sons, Frankie Wayne Bowman Sr. and Freeman N. Bowman Sr.; one sister; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bunt died Nov. 28 at St. Clair Regional Hospital in Pell City.
She was a native of St. Clair County and a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by five daughters, Janet Poe and Victoria Castleberry, both of Pell City; Carolyn Blankenship of Trussville, Sandra Bagley of Moody, and Arlene Cooke of Leeds; one son, Harlan Bunt of Pell City; three sisters, Estelle Layton of Montevallo, Nellie Noan of Ragland and Earnestine Lodge of Calera; one brother, Edward Lawley of Cahaba Heights; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Usrey's Pell City Chapel Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m.
