COOK, Edna Ianther Hand, 92, a resident of Deatsville, AL, died peacefully at home and joined her heavenly Father on Friday, July 15, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from Liberty Baptist Church, with Reverend James Bozeman, Reverend Ed Eaton, and Reverend Frank Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Lee Cyril Cook, and one daughter, Mary Lee Cook. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Marvin Lee, Anita and Bill Fray, all of Deatsville, AL, Jean and Gerald Scott, Edith and Douglas Coburn, all of Prattville, AL, and Violet and Ronald Burke, Eclectic, AL; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Louise Chavers, Foley, AL. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Mark Lee, Shon Lee, Jeff Fray, Randy Fray, Bryan Fray, Todd Scott, Heath Scott, Jason Coburn, Jarred Coburn, and Brad Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Ladies Sunday School Class of Liberty Baptist Church and Members of the Choir. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Liberty Baptist Church, 2309 Highway 31 North, Deatsville, AL 36022. The body of Mrs. Cook will lie-in-state at the church one-half hour prior to her service.

COGGINS, Teddie Maxine, 74, a resident of Prattville, AL, died peacefully at home on Monday morning, October 4, 2004. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., from Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Linda Walker officiating, Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mrs. Coggins was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Willie Leon Coggins, and one brother, Roy Babston. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Lee and Bobby Bass, and LeeAnn Walker and fiance’ Jamie Anderson, all of Prattville, AL; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and JoAnn Coggins, Slap Out, AL, Malcolm and Dianna Coggins, Prattville, AL, Hayward and Janet Coggins, Montgomery, AL; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Penny Jinright and Jean Fraley; and two brothers, Billy Babston, Montgomery, AL, and Ray (Gwen) Babston, Prattville, AL. Pallbearers will be Danny Wood, Sidney Walker, Lonnie Melton, Greg Shaw, Chris Hill and Tim Collins. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8 p.m.
Billy Clark
CLARK, William “Billy” Roy, 71, a resident of Prattville, AL, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 12:00 noon, from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with Dr. Steve Muzio and Reverend Kirby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Clark honorably served his country with the United States Army Reserves. At the time of his death, he was the owner and operator of Area Sand and Gravel in Wetumpka, AL. He also served faithfully as an Elder in the Millbrook Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Wilda Clark; two daughters, Tanya Gingles and Terri (Johnny) Davila; two sons, Todd (Geeja) Clark and Trent (Crystal) Clark; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jimmy Clark and Don (Janice) Clark. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial Chapel on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

CHAVERS, L. M., 78, a resident of Prattville, AL, died on Monday, November 7, 2005, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial, with Reverend Bobby Hicks officiating. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Chavers honorably served his country for 22 years as a Veteran of the United States Army retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela Chavers. He is survived by one daughter, Sue Chavers, Montgomery, AL; one sister, Pearlie Wilson; one brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm and Clara Chavers, all of Prattville, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Chapman, A. D. “Dorris” Sr, 98, a resident of Montgomery, AL, formerly of Nauvoo, AL and Prattville, AL, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2006, at Crowne nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., from Prattville Memorial, with Ministers Steve Lawrence and C. R. Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruby V. (Beck) Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Hattie Chapman of Carbon Hill, AL; one devoted daughter, Joy Higgins Graham, Montgomery, AL; two sons, Marvin Earl (Sharon) Chapman, Macon, GA, and Allen Dean (Margaret) Chapman, Jr., Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one step daughter, Ann (Daniel) Kilgore, Adamsville, AL; one step-son, Buddy (Frances) Dunn, Nauvoo, AL; six grandsons, Jerry Higgins, Mark Higgins, Marvin E. CARTER, JR., Thomas Houston, a resident of Deatsville, AL, died on Friday evening, February 8, 2008, at a Montgomery hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., from Pine Level United Methodist Church, with Pastor Thomas Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Carter proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Owens. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Marie Carter; one daughter, Linda Randolph; three sons, Bobby Hayes, Clay Randolph, and Billy Randolph; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Brenda (John Henry) Dawson, and three nieces. Serving as pallbearers will be men of the Church, Paul Leverett, Mitch Singleton, Ron Lock, Ron Starker, Kenny Williams, and Beau McDougal. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Pine Level Sunday School Class. The body of Mr. Carter will lie-in-state, one-half hour prior to his service.
