Knox, Sarah, age 67, of Lipscomb, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Bessemer. She retired from U. A. B. Hospital and became a Foster Parent for numerous children for over 16 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 1999 at 11:00 a.m., at the church with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Survivors: three daughters, Loretta Green (Ben ny), Vanessa Stallworth (Tony) and Shantae Knox; six sons, Benny (Cheryl), Donald (Johnnie), John (Jacqueline), Isaac (Shelia), Jeffery, and James Knox; two sisters, Mary Hall and Dora Chaney; numerous grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Smith, Noel Vaughn, age 18 of Auburn formerly of Win field, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999. Noel was born on February 18, l981 in Amory, MS, a son of James Odis Smith and Nancy Dianne Weeks Smith. He was a resident of Winfield most of his life, resident of Auburn the past four years, attended Winfield and Auburn High Schools. He was a registered freshman at Southern Union Community College at Opelika, and a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his father, James O. "Bud" Smith, Lewisville, TX; mother, Mrs. Nancy Weeks Smith and brother, Jamie Smith, both of Auburn; grandparents, Fred and Betty Weeks, Winfield; and Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Birmingham; two aunts, Mrs. Ann Gunnels, Hallsville, TX and Mrs. Jennifer Rostahar, Lawrence, KS; host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services to be held Friday, June 25, 1999 at 1 p.m. from the Miles Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at the Zion cemetery. Minton, Mr. Robert Allen "Ram" (October 3, 1931-June 9, 1999), age 67, of Shannon, passed away June 9, 1999. He was retired from the City of Birmingham. He was also a veteran and a member of both the VFW Post 3407 and the Eagles Lodge #972 in Pratt City. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. Stricklin, Mr. W. D. "Jack", of Birmingham, retired 82, passed away June 10, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gipsy Stricklin. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the South Pacific - #106 Observation Squadron. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 13, 1999, 4:30 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
