Sijgers, Dr. Hendrik K., age 64, of Birmingham, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. He was originally from the Netherlands, a loving father who overcame great adversity to independently raise his three children in Reston, Virginia. He was an active community member involved in the Lions Club and coached youth soccer. He was a graduate of the University of Delft in The Netherlands. He had an outstanding career at Fort Belvoir, Virginia where he developed night-vision and other optical equipment for the Department of Defense. He retired to Birmingham, Alabama in 1995. Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 10, at 3:30 p.m. at Southern Heritage Chapel. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church; lifetime member of Concordia Beneficial Society and member of Ladies Aux. of Disabled American Veterans. Nabors, Marvin H, age 81, of Irondale, AL., died June 9, 1999. He was a lifelong active member of Avondale United Methodist Church, and was retired from U. S. Steel. He was a 50 year member and past Master of Woodlawn Fraternal Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
