Ola Mae Cheese Timmons, a homemaker and a resident of Mobile, died Sept. 2 at a local hospital. She was 82.
Survivors include five daughters, Elnora Timmons, Theresa Lyles, Ethel Timmons, Joann Harper and Patricia Timmons; four sons, Edward Timmons, James Timmons, Alphonse Timmons and Robert Timmons; and one brother, Eddie Cheese Sr., all of Mobile; 40 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Small's Mortuary on South Broad Street, where another viewing will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service. Burial will take place in Prichard Memorial Cemetery.

Mae Wanda Robinson, a former machine operator, died Saturday at a hospital in Grove Hill. She was 45.
She was a native and resident of Grove Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Hezikiah McGhee of Hayneville, Ala.; one daughter, Cheakita Robinson of Huntsville; two sons, Marland Robinson and Jamie Robinson, both of Grove Hill; two sisters, Diane Robinson of Grove Hill and Brenda Robinson of Akron, Ohio; two brothers, Bruce Robinson of Grove Hill and David Robinson of Monroeville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson. The funeral is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Grove Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Norman Chafin

Norman Rayford Chafin, a native of Rabun and a resident of Chatom, died Thursday at a family home. He was 69.
Chafin was a retired machine operator for Masonite Corporation in Laurel, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Dessie Chafin of Chatom; two sons, Don Chafin of Buckatunna, Miss., and Larry Chafin of Clara, Miss.; two daughters, Debbie Ethridge of Fruitdale and Norma Busby of Chatom; one brother, Warren Chafin; and three sisters, Gladys Gilley, Alene Beech and Ella Dees, all of Chatom; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom. A second visitation is set for Saturday from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral at Yarborough Assembly of God Church in Chatom. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Robert Lee Kimble, a retired logger, died Monday in Mobile. He was 51.
Kimble was a native and resident of McIntosh, where he was a member of St. Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert Lee Williams of Bronx, N.Y.; five sisters, Dorothy Ann Kimble, Katherine Kimble and Helen Ann Kimble, all of McIntosh, Mary Alston of Bronx and Eunice Farley of Carrollton, Ga.; four brothers, Thomas Kimble Jr., Alexander Kimble and Larry Kimble, all of McIntosh, and Matthew Kimble of Allentown, Pa.; and one grandchild.
Viewing will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at St. Union Baptist Church in McIntosh, with burial in Roberts Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson is handling arrangements.

Edward O. Harper Jr., retired from the U.S. Postal Service with over 30 years service, died Thursday. He was 56.
Harper was a resident of Hueytown, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Harper of Hueytown; two daughters, Wendy Gober and Randi Allen; his father, E.O. Harper Sr.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Brown Service West Chapel in Hueytown, where the funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Coats, Mildred LaGrone
Coats, Mildred LaGrone, age 88, of Springville, died January 5, 1999. She was a member of the Center Point Church of Christ. She lived in Springville for over 44 years, and was a retired school teacher for St. Clair County Schools. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Alabama College (University of Montevallo). Funeral services will be Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Roebuck East Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Mr. Paul Sikes officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Friday. Survivors: daughter, Miss Carroll Coats; brother, Herman LaGrone of Berry; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Payne, Mary Moore
Payne, Mary Moore, age 85, of Mountain Brook, died Thursday, April 22, 1999. She was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew H. Payne, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha Baldridge and husband, John T. of Irondale and Eleanor Posey and husband, James E. of Vincent; one grandchild, Rachel Proelss of Salt Lake City, Utah and two step-grandchildren, Martee Posey of Birmingham and Jodee Koopman of Henderson, Nev.; two special friends, Katherine Hubbard and Margaret Trammell. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Southside Chapel. Dr. Cary Speaker officiating. The family will receive friends at 5 p.m. and a reception will follow the service. Gipson, Harold R., age 75, of Gardendale, died Sunday, January 3, 1999. He was a retired supervisor with South Central Bell having 33 years of service. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 5, at 2 p.m. at Gardendale Chapel with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. McClendon officiating. Visitation was Monday, January 4, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Gardendale Chapel. Survivors: wife, Marie Gipson; sons, James H. (Gale) Gipson of Mt. Olive and Michael R. Scarber, Reverend Dr. Dorosco, Sr.
Scarber, Reverend Dr. Dorosco, Sr. was born July 19, 1927. He passed away December 29, 1998 at his home. Funeral will be Saturday, January 9, 1999 at 12 o'clock noon at Twenty-fifth Avenue Baptist Church (2100 25th Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama). Reverend Adam McCray and Reverend Clyde Beverly, Sr. officiating. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Dr. Scarber recently retired after over 40 years of dedicated service as Pastor of Twenty-fifth Avenue Baptist Church. He was Founder and Pastor of First Baptist Church of North Birmingham. He was educated in the Birmingham Public Schools. He furthered his education at Daniel Payne College, Alabama A&M; University, New Orleans Theological Seminary and Union Baptist Seminary. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Valerie Tolbert Scarber; three children, Dorosco (Marilyn) Scarber, Debra Fields, and Joslyn (Marvin) Smith; sisters, Evelyn (Herman) Chandler and Ethel (Arthur) Agee; brother, Preston (Annette) Scarber; aunts, Beatrice Smith and Sarah Lee; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; mother and father-in-law, Thelma & Thomas Tolbert; and a host of other relatives and friends.
