BOBBY GERALD GRIFFIN
HUNTSVILLE — Graveside service for Bobby (Sonny) Gerald Griffin, 72, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery
Inc. with Brother Sonny Kirk and Brother Lee Kilbourn officiating.
Mr. Griffin died Oct. 8. He was a member and deacon of East Huntsville Baptist Church and was retired from Madison Square Chrysler Dealership.
He is survived by his wife, Charlsie L. Griffin; daughter, Deborah Griffin Rhodes of Huntsville; sons, Johnny Frank Griffin of Mary Esther, Fla., James Matthew Griffin of Richmond, Va., and Thomas Gerald Griffin of Cedar Park, Texas; brothers, Dr. William J. Griffin of Huntsville, David G. Griffin of Birmingham and Charles R. Griffin of McCalla; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Huntsville Baptist Church, the Cancer Society or the Lung Association.

KATHY COOPER RATLIFF
TALLADEGA — Graveside service for Kathy Cooper Ratliff, 50, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Pine Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Martin Murray officiating.
Mrs. Ratliff died Oct. 9 at Citizens BMC. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Cooper. She was a lifelong resident of Talladega County and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by daughter, April Ellen Horn of Talladega; sons, Tracy Ratliff and Patrick Ratliff of Texas and Keith Ratliff of North Carolina; her mother, Elizabeth Freeman of Talladega; sister, Anna Odham of Talladega; brothers, Lamar Cooper of Talladega and Mike Cooper of Anniston; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Gaither, Randy Gaither, Bob Freeman, Allen Freeman, Bill Matson and Tony Spurling.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

JIMMY L. SCOGGINS
PELL CITY — Memorial service for Jimmy L. Scoggins, 60, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Estelle Baptist Church in Sylacauga with the Rev. Mark Deason officiating.
Mr. Scoggins died Oct. 7. He was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Childersburg and was preceded in death by his parents, J.L. Scoggins and Mrytle Scoggins. He was a steel mill worker with Connor's Steel Company in Birmingham and attended Estelle Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons, Timothy Scoggins of Sylacauga and Charles Scoggins of Frazier, Tenn.; daughter, Crystal Brown of Stanton, Tenn.; brothers, Bobby Scoggins and Gene Scoggins of Birmingham; sister, Bertie Joiner of Sylacauga; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until service time at the church.

MICHAEL HOLLIS WELLS
ALPINE — Funeral service for Michael Hollis Wells, 50, will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Maynor officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Wells died Oct. 8 at his residence. He was a native of Mobile and had lived most of his life in Alpine. He was the highest level in Eagle Scouts, was a self-employed painting contractor and was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Barney H. Wells.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Holmes Wells of Alpine; son, Chris Ray Holmes and wife Kim of Huntsville; his mother, Mary Ann Wells of Vestavia Hills; sisters, Barbara Wells Forrester of Birmingham and Rene' Wells Sullivan of Tuscaloosa; brother, Larry Mark Wells of Birmingham; grandchildren, Jerilee Salem Holmes and Christopher Riley Holmes of Huntsville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of very close friends.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Stone, Dale Roberson, Steve Tinney, Ralph Finn, Michael Vickers and Gene Sherrill.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Salem Presbyterian Church.
Midway Memory Gardens Funeral Home will direct the service.

DETROIT, Mich. — Milton Willis, 57, formerly of Alpine, died Sept. 24 in Detroit, Mich.

HAROLD DEAN HELTON
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Harold Dean Helton, 69, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Sylacauga with the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery
in Sylacauga.
Mr. Helton died Oct. 9. He was married for 50 years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga where he served as a deacon and in several other capacities. He was active in the Gideons, was employed by Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga and was retired as a Post Master with the U.S. Postal Service after some 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne C. Helton of Sylacauga; daughters, Marilyn Helton Bedford of Indianapolis, Ind., and Gilda Helton Coker of Hoover; son, Leslie Dean Helton of Collierville, Tenn.; sisters, Helen Howell and Hazel Lambert of Sylacauga; and six grandchildren.
The Gideons-Sylacauga Camp will serve as active and honorary pallbearers.
The Adult III Co-ed Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Missions at First Baptist Church of Sylacauga, P.O. Box 234, Sylacauga, Ala., 35150.

ALPINE — Funeral service for Hugh Watkins, 74, of 525 Feddisburg Road, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary chapel with the Rev. A.C. Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins died Oct. 6 at Talladega Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Watkins; his parents, James Lewis Watkins and Ollie Cross Watkins; and a brother, Bennie Watkins. He was retired from his own janitorial company in Chicago, Ill., and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by daughters, Yvonne Watkins of Washington, D.C., and Ruby Mavis Turner of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Mildred Watkins of Fontana, Calif., and Lillian Phelps and Purgie Ruth Watkins of Los Angeles, Calif.; and brothers, Arthur J. Watkins and Calvin Watkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Clifford Watkins of Talladega and Freeman Watkins of Carson, Calif.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

SYLACAUGA — Memorial service for Clarence Robert (Bobby) Seale Jr., 73, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Seale officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
Mr. Seale died Oct. 9. He was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Birmingham and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Shelby County High School Class of 1949 and he was retired from Pemco, formerly Haynes International.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary B. Seale; children, Frances Louise Seale Thomas, Clarence Robert Seale III, Lonnie E. Seale and William Thomas Seale; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Raymond E. Seale.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Columbiana.
