Veronica Jill Parker Jones, a native of Jackson and resident of St. Stephens, died Thursday at an area hospital.
Jones was a member of the Bethel AOH Church of God Inc. of Lisman, where she served as assistant superintendent, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Survivors include her husband, Hosie Jones of St. Stephens; three sons, Marcus Jones of San Diego, Patrick Parker of Dothan and Andrea Parker of Oakland, Calif.; her parents, W.G. Parker and Martha Parker, both of Jackson;and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Mt. Olive No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church of Jackson, where the funeral is set for noon Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery of Barlow Bend. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Reynalds Edward Haas, a native of Mobile and resident of Rockledge, Fla., died Friday at his home. He was 65.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Thomas Haas of Rockledge; two sons, Alexander Frank Haas of Jacksonville, Fla., and Reynalds Andrew "Drew" Haas of Chicago; three daughters, Edith Haas of Houston, Kathleen Haas Ellis of Rockledge and Suzanne Haas Dininny of Cocoa, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockledge.

Arthur Smith Jr., a native of Whistler and a resident of New York, died Thursday at a New York area hospital after an extended illness. He was 65.
Smith was a bacteriologist and hematologist with the New York Department of Health. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Livingston College in North Carolina and a master's degree in secondary education from Long Island University before obtaining an M.D. in 1983.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Emma Jean Smith of New York; two daughters, Afia Smith and Jamila Smith, both of New York; two sisters, Evelyn Cook of New Jersey and Marian Jordan of Georgia; and a brother, Dr. Ronald Smith of Mobile.
The viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m today at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at Pilgrim Rest AME Church in Whistler. Burial will follow in Whistler Cemetery.

Kohre Wyatt McDaniel, an infant, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Survivors include his parents, Dave and Pamela McDaniel of Mobile; two brothers, Dave McDaniel IV of Mobile and Zion Livingston of Dallas; his grandparents, Dave McDaniel Jr. of Montgomery, Rhonda McDaniel of Mobile and Laurinda Boynes of Huntsville; and his great-grandparents, Marianne Felton of Mobile, Ronald Gibson Sr., Helen Gibson, Dave McDaniel Sr. and Ellen McDaniel, all of Pensacola.
The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Monday at Lily Baptist Church on Kennedy Street. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Arrangements are being made by Christian Benevolent Funeral Home on North Hamilton Street.

Robert Mixon Sr., a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, died Friday at a family home. He was 69.
Mixon was a native of Atmore and a resident of Eight Mile. He was a shipfitter for 26 years.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Mixon Jr. and Daniel Mixon, both of Semmes, Al Mixon of Irvington and Douglas Mixon of Eight Mile; two sisters, Brenda Roberts and Doris Grimes, both of Mobile; and two brothers, Jack Mixon of Niceville, Fla., and Henry Mixon II of Mobile.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral at Serenity Funeral Home on Old Pascagoula Road. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

William Henry "Bill" Perry Jr., a native of Monroeville and a resident of Mobile, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was 58.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Perry and Ronnie Perry; three sons, Ronnie Perry, William Perry and Joshua Perry, all of Mobile; five sisters, Linda Blake, Carol Barnhill, Jennifer Perry and Sharon Stillwagoner, all of Mobile, and Bonnie Foehl of Eight Mile; one brother, Thomas Perry of Mobile; and 8 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Valhalla Memorial Funeral home in Semmes, where the funeral is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.

Lillie Tyree Rester, a homemaker, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 84.
Rester was a lifelong resident of Mobile.
Survivors include her husband, Elvin Rester of Eight Mile; one son, Randy Rester of Theodore; one daughter, Bonnie Hicks of Mobile; one brother, Bob Frye of Eight Mile; one sister, Ilene Adams of Louisiana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eugene Varrientos Jr., an employee of Wal-Mart, died Thursday. He was 23.
Varrientos was a native of Mobile and a resident of Chunchula.
Survivors include his father, Eugene Varrientos Sr. of Citronelle; his mother, Naomi Dean of Comanche, Okla.; his wife, Laurie Varrientos; and a daughter, Melissa Varrientos, both of Chunchula; two brothers, Salvador Varrientos of Duncan, Okla., and Ron Varrientos of Comanche; two sisters, Elizabeth Varrientos and Rebecca Varrientos, both of Comanche; and his grandmother, Jesse Mae Sullivan of Eight Mile.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at Gilmer's Funeral Home on Zeigler Circle West. Burial will be in Wilmer Cemetery.
