Lionel Ray Bright, a supervisor at Reynolds Ready Mix for 27 years, died Aug. 24. He was 45.
Bright, affectionately known as "Tootsie Roll, " was a native and resident of Atmore. He graduated from Escambia County High School in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lynn Bright; five daughters, Titticcie Dailey, Monica Smith, Kimwanna Bright, Samantha Bright and Lela Bright; one son, Lionel Ray Bright, all of Atmore; his father, "Roy" Leo Bright of Franklin, Ala.; four sisters, Cynthia Kaye Cooper and Bessie Lee, both of Atmore, Barbara Bullard and Emma Bright, both of Monroeville, Ala.; nine brothers, Cleave Knight of Fairhope, Darryl Barnes of Virginia, Leo Bright Jr., Kenneth Bright, John Bright, Jackie Bright, Larry Bright and Marcus Bright, all of Monroeville, and Ricky Bright of Foley; and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral took place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Atmore. Burial was in Williams Cemetery in Atmore. Turner Funeral Home in Atmore handled arrangements.
Agnes Pearson

Agnes Lucille Rigdon Pearson, a native of Monroeville, Ala., and a resident of Atmore for 53 years, died Sunday in Atmore. She was 78.
Mrs. Pearson attended New Beginning Church.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Pearson of Atmore; two sons, Ollie James Pearson of Mobile and Thurl Pearson of Atmore; two daughters, Lillian Nix of Brewton and Frances Brown of Evergreen; one sister, Aline Direckson of Seattle; 12 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore, where the service is set for 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Barbara Crocker

Barbara Barkley Crocker, a homemaker, died Monday at her home. She was 78.
A native of Linden, Mrs. Crocker was a resident of Magnolia.
She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton F. Crocker Sr.; one son, Clinton G. Crocker Jr., both of Magnolia; one daughter, Charlotte Warren of Marion, Ala.; two brothers, Chalmus Barkley and Mack Barkley, both of Linden; two sisters, Mildred Thrash of Myrtlewood, Ala., and Patricia Nichols of Linden; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The service is set for 2 p.m. today at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Lancer Edward Chad Lucas, a maintenance chief with a poultry producer, died Monday in Chatom from injuries suffered in a traffic accident. He was 20.
He was a native of Mobile and a resident of Millry.
Survivors include his wife, Christina Rhodes Lucas; a daughter, Brittany Lucas; and his mother, Linda Koen Lucas, all of Millry; a brother, Madrid Lucas of Toxey; a sister, Holly Sanderson Colquitt of Dothan, Ala.; and his grandmothers, Ruth Koen of Chatom and Cora Koen Sanderson of Millry.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler, Ala., where the service is set for 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gilbertown, Ala.
Marvin Tanner

Marvin Gaines Tanner, a retired farmer, died Monday afternoon at his daughter's home. He was 94.
Tanner, a native of Mississippi, was a resident of Theodore for nearly 75 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Theodore. He formerly served as a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Fowl River.
Survivors include two children, Marvina Tanner Janes and Marvin Ray Tanner, both of Theodore; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced later by Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Three Notch Road.
John Williams

John Jackson Williams, a native of Louisville, Ky., and resident of Coffeeville, died Friday at his residence. He was 75.
Williams was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Williams and Van Doran Williams, both of Roseland, La.; one daughter, Ethelyn Denise Williams of Montgomery; and three sisters, Bessie Williams and Bernice Fluker, both of Mobile, and Minnie Johnson of Coffeeville.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral at Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Williams family cemetery. Reese Funeral Home in Thomasville is handling arrangements.
Myrtle Birringer

Myrtle Birringer, a native of Monroe County, died Tuesday at a hospital in Monroeville. She was 93.
Mrs. Birringer was a resident of Frisco City for the past several years.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Johnson Funeral Home in Monroeville. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Franklin, Ala.
Hayward Hayes Sr.

Hayward Hayes Sr., a veteran of the U.S. Navy, died Sunday at a nursing facility. He was 79.
A resident of Atmore, he was retired the Alabama prison system, where he worked as a guard.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Nevels and Patricia Hayes; three sons, Hayward Hayes Jr., Robert Hayes and Russell Hayes; two sisters, Dottie Burdick and Gracie May Kemen; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service is set for 11 a.m. today at Popular Springs Cemetery in Uriah.
