Mullins, Mrs. Billie Jo Bruner, age 67, of Southside, Alabama, died February 14, 1999. Visitation: Monday from 5:30- 8:00 P.M. Chapel service will be Tuesday, February 16, at 2:00 P.M. Rev. William Kitchens officiating. Burial in Jefferson. Survivors: sons, Daniel Bruner of Birmingham, William Kelly Bruner of Birmingham, and Ted Bruner of Dallas, Tex.; daughter, Judy O'Neal of Birmingham; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Jay Barbee of Merritt Island, Fla.; sister, Jean Humphrey of Morgan, Ga. Romine, Mr. Clarence Brown, age 99, of Pleasant Grove, died Monday, January 18, 1999. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Brown Service West Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He was born in Rogersville, Alabama, on July 22, 1899, attended Lauderdale County Schools and Old Howard College in Birmingham, served in Army in World War I, was a member of Masons for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ora Durham Romine; for years he worked for Barrett Division Allied Chemical and later retired from Craig Air Force in Selma as Civil Service Employee. Survivors: two children, Charles H. Romine (Emily) of Pleasant Grove and Norma R. Young (William A.) of Birmingham; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to: Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 452 9th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Alabama 35127 or to a favorite charity. Brown Service West Chapel directing.

Daniel, Pearl Mae, age 102, of Warrior, AL, died Monday, January 18, 1999. Funeral services Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at Messmer-Goodwin Chapel, beginning at 11:00 a.m. George Duke officiating. Burial in Warrior Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, January 19, 1999, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home. Survivors: sons, Charles Daniel of Alexandria, VA, Howard Daniel of Birmingham, AL, Leonard Daniel and Robert Daniel, both of Morris, AL; daughter, Jean Marlowe of Linden, AL; ten grandchildren; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren. Walker, Lucille Wade, age 83, of Sumiton, died February 14, 1999. She was a member of Sumiton United Methodist Church; member of the Eastern Star; preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Walker and son, Thomas B. Walker, Sr. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in McCormack Cemetery, Dora. Rev. Preston Headrick and Mr. Tim Nesmith officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors: daughters, Charlotte Walker Wilkie of Sipsey, Perry Walker Busby and her husband, Robert of Graysville. Butrick, Virginia Lee Smith, age 66, of Bessemer, died January 17, 1999. She was a member of North Highlands Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Service Bessemer Chapel with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. Doug O'Brien officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Survivors: son, Steven Wayne Butrick of Bessemer; daughter, Vicki Price of Demopolis; brother, John L. Price, Ella A. Dooly, age 75, of Birmingham, died February 13, 1999. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy WAVE during WWII. She was raised in #1 Mill Village. She was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Huffman. Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Forest Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Survivors: husband of 54 years, Leroy H. Price, of Birmingham; son, Leroy "Lee" H. Price, II of Acworth, Ga.; daughters, Louise Price of Birmingham, Katrina Price (SFC James A. "Tony") Knight of Ft. Knox, Ky.; grandchildren, James A. Knight, II "Jake", Meshan N. Montgomery, Mrs. Mary Sue, 60, of Bessemer, died Monday, January 18, 1999. Graveside services Wednesday, January 20, 12:00 noon at Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 5:30-8:00 PM. Survivors: husband, David L. Montgomery, Sr., of Bessemer; daughter, Sheila K. Brewer, Mr. Arthur Edward, age 76, of Birmingham, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 1999. He was a member of Vinesville Baptist Church and a U. S. Army veteran. Burgess, William "Shorty", age 80, of Fairfield, died Sunday, January 17, 1999. He was a member of Midfield Baptist Church, was a supervisor for U. S. Steel for 26 years, also worked for U. S. Pipe in Quality Control for 19 yea rs. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Rev. David Prince officiating. Felton, James O., Jr., age 73, of Hoover, died January 17, 1999. He was a veteran (Air Cadet) of World War II, retired from U. S. Steel as a General Mine Foreman, after 35 years of service and a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., January 20, at Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. David Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends at his residence from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19th. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Felton; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lorie Felton of Tifton, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Victor Crutsincer of San Marino, Calif.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Grady and Gwen Beck of Wilmington, NC; granddaughter, Eve Felton and several nieces and nephews. Barrett, Sister Lucy, O.S.B., age 92, of Cullman, died April 16, 1999 at her residence. Born January 31, 1907 in Mississippi, a daughter of Daniel Frisby Barrett & Frances McNeill Barrett. Teacher. Funeral service will be Monday, April 19, 1999 at 4:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Monastery Chapel. Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Interment: Sacred Heart Monastery Cemetery (Cullman, Alabama). Beaver, Mrs. Ruth Hughes, of Bessemer, passed away January 17, 1999. Mrs. Beaver was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, and was retired from Bessemer State Technical College. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Woodall and her husband, John, of Bessemer; two sons, Don Beaver and his wife, Marla, of Jemison, and Eddie Beaver and his wife, Kathy, of Orlando; one brother, Donald Hughes of Shannon; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Thornton of Raleigh, Miss., and Mrs. Betty Cowart of Shannon; as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Whitlock, Gladys Marie "Peggie", age 95, of Pinson, died January 17, 1999. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church for 50 years. She was retired from Pizitz Department Store. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, at 1 p.m. at Central Park Baptist Church with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Rev. Danny Summerlin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Survivors: nieces, Marjorie Bailey of Pinson, Eva Benson of Pensacola, Fla., and Frankie Morrow of Moody.
