Quinn, Martha McAnnally, of Homewood, died June 21, 1999. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and was retired from the Registrars Office at Samford University. Survivors: husband, George T. Quinn; sons, Thomas Allen Quinn and his wife, Esther and their son, Peter of Hoover; Terry E. Quinn and his wife, Laura and their son, Patrick of Marietta, Ga. Graveside service will be Thursday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Reverend Paul Sanderson, officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 until 7:30 at the funeral home. Peter Quinn, Bill Box, John Cadden, Reid Manley, Bob Methvin, and Kile Putman will serve as active pallbearers and Dr. James E. Stone will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel, 205-879-3401, in Homewood.

Tompkins, B. Marie, age 54, of Birmingham, died Friday, June 18, 1999. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at The Guiding Light Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors: daughters, LaVonda (Steve) Brannon, Ulvesa (Stanley) Blackmon, Karen L. (Edmond) Tompkins Green, Karol L. Tompkins, Karla L. Tompkins, and KaSandra L. (Ike) Frison; sons, Terrance (Audrey) Wray, Theron LeNorris (Robin) Tompkins, James Tompkins, and Reuben D. Tompkins; sisters, Edna Earle (Moses) Javis and Carolyn Frances Hall; brothers, Alvin Tennell (Lula) Shack, George Monroe (Ivy) Shack, and Benjamin Lou is (Alberta) Shack; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Bushelon Funeral Home directing.

Ware, James D., Ii, age 44, of Birmingham, died June 21, 1999. He was a native of Laverne and had lived most of his life in Birmingham; member of Hillview Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 24, at 7 p.m. at Hillview Baptist Church with Randy Atkinson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until service time at the church. Survivors: wife, Penny Ware of Brookside; stepson, Jory David Singleton of Brookside; daughter, Amira Nichole Ware of Adamsville; mother, Gail Ware of Center Point; brother, Ben Ware of Pinson; sister, Vickie Harvell of Moody. Whisenhunt, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth, 78 of Chelsea died June 21, 1999. She is survived by her son, William Larry Whisenhunt and wife, Sherry; two grandchildren, Eve Lair and husband, Scott, all of Leeds; William Vann Whisenhunt and wife, Christa, of Trussville; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Seth, and Eden Lair. Funeral is 2 p.m., Wednesday at Bolton Brown Chapel, burial at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Brown Ser vice Directing.

Shore, Margaret Alice, age 91, of Oxford, died June 21, 1999. Graveside service will be Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Ken Ballard officiating. Survivors: brother, seven nieces and five nephews; several great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews. Brown and Kughn Memory Chapel directing.

Suttles, Leathia, age 92, of Birmingham, died June 21, 1999. Graveside service will be Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Zion Memorial Gardens. Survivors: three daughters, 34 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren. Wren Funeral Home directing.

Hayes, Mrs . Katherine Wall, 85 of Hueytown, died June 20, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Hanceford W. Haynes; two sisters; Mrs. Edith Hayes and Mrs. Carrie Nesbitt of Wilsonville, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. til 11 a.m. before the funeral. Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Bolton Brown Chapel, with burial at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Brown Service Directing.

Cregar, Robbie Lee, age 71, of Plantersville, AL, died June 21, 1999. Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24th at Charter Funeral Home. Survivors: husband, Clyde Cregar; daughter, Palela A. Cregar; sons, Clyde Cregar III; Michael D. Cregar; sister, Billie Pendegras 3 grandsons and 3 great-granddaughters. Charter Funeral Home in Calera directing.

Kirby, Mrs. Annie Webb Thompson, 92, of Birmingham passed away June 21, 1999. Survivors include: daughters: Edna Bishop, Mary Thompson, Evelyn Medlen; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Roebuck East Chapel Directing.

Boshell, Mr. Robert Walter, age 83, of Adamsville, passed away Monday, June 21, 1999. He was a member of Hillview Church of Christ and attended Adamsville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial in Forest Crest Cemetery. Brother Bobby Duncan will officiate. He is survived by two sons, Jerry (Barbara) Boshell of Adamsville and Clarence R. Boshell of Adamsville; two brothers, Cephus Boshell and John Wesley Boshell of Jasper; two sisters, Gracie Sprouse of Jasper and Doris Jean Hillard of Detroit; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Reid, John David, Jr., age 78, of Birmingham, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999. He was retired from the Birmingham Transit Authority. He was a World War II Veteran. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served aboard the S. S. Kenmore. Later he was attached to the Second Marine Division and was in the Invasion of Tinian, Saipan and served on Guadalcanal. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Reid, Sr. and Myrtle McDuffie Reid. Funeral services will be Thurs day, June 24, at 3:30 p.m. at Ridout's Roebuck East Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Quinton McKay officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 23, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Roebuck East Chapel. Survivors: wife, Naomi Johnson Reid; daughter, Nancy Reid, both of Birmingham; sister, Mildred Sawyer; brother, Thomas Reid, both of Hayden; special person, Jean Crenshaw of Birmingham. Fikes, Mrs. Nelle Fay, age 82, of Adamsville, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 1999. She was born in Shady Grove (Bibb County), Alabama and was one of thirteen children born to the late James Luther and Annie Pearl Kelley. She was a former member of Ensley Baptist Church for fifty years, but in recent years was a member of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home in Forestdale. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bell Forestdale Chapel with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery. Rev. Rickey Patterson will officiate. She is survived by her husband, Lacey Ray Fikes of Shady Grove; son, Kelley Ray (Frieda) Fikes of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Patricia (Joe) Green of Shady Grove; five grandchildren, Michael Ray Fikes of Atlanta, Bryan (Glenda) Fikes of Trussville, Kellie (Ken) Crumpton of Shady Grove, Jeff Green of Shady Grove, and Jason (Connie) Green of Alabaster; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Ray Fikes of Atlanta, Bryan Weathers of Trussville, Brittany Crumpton, Ashlyn Green, Jake Crumpton, and Kelsey Green all of Shady Grove; two sisters, Ella Story (Berlie) Langston of Sparks, Nevada and Louise (J.D.) Vance, Mr. Henry Carl, age 80, of Minor, AL, died June 22, 1999. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23 at Crest view Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Grave side service will be Thursday, June 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Gardens. Survivors include wife, Betty J. Vance, Minor; two sons, Carl W. Vance (Judy), Sylvan Springs; David W. Vance (Ann), Sylvan Springs; two grandchildren: Kent Vance (Karen), Shady Grove and Tonya Bowens (David), Alliance; one great-grandson, Ty Bowens; one sister, Laura Pike (Raymond), Fairfield Highlands. Morrow, Mrs. Kathleen Miller, age 79, of Crumley Chapel, passed away Friday, January 22, 1999.
