Shannon, Mr. Len B., age 94, of Birmingham, passed away on November 28, 1999. He was a member of Ensley First United Methodist Church for 60 years and a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was retired from U.S. Steel after 43 years of service. The family suggests memorials be given to Trinity United Methodist Church or Alabama Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 146, Sylacauga, AL 35150. Survivors: his son and daughter-in-law, Len B., Jr. and Jeneal Shannon; and his grandchildren, Len B. Shannon, III and Neal Edward Shannon. Scott, Gladys Elizabeth, age 92, of Birmingham, died February 14, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Scott. She was an active member of Roebuck Christian Church. Klie, Annis, born in Forkland, Alabama, finished high school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Alabama. She taught high school in Pine Bluff for several years before beginning a long and distinguished career with the Girl Scouts of America in Monroe, La. Among her achievements with the Girl Scouts was the establishment of a camp where the activity trail is now named in her honor. She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, La. Miss Klie spent her later years in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by a sister, Lu Klie Yeilding of Birmingham, AL; nieces, Lu Yeilding Downey of Huntsville, Sue Klie Ryall of Yorktown, AR, Bee Yeilding McNeil of Atlanta, Ga., Elizabeth Anita Klie of Birmingham; and nephews, Larry West Klie and William David Klie, both of Birmingham. Metcalf, Billie Ann, age 91, a resident of Wetumpka, died Saturday, February 13, 1999. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 16, at 11 a.m. from Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Holmes officiating. Gallagher, Richard "Dick", age 73, of Birmingham, died February 15, 1999. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps 6th Division during World War II and was retired from Baker and Sons Dairy. Witt, Archie Hanna, III, age 60, of Birmingham, died the second week of June 1999. He is survived by his children, Mary Susan Witt Hosier, Camille Witt and Archie Witt IV; one grandchild, Somerville Emily Hosier and his mother, Susan Wood Witt. Private family services were held. Horst, Robert William (BILL), age 48, of Trussville, died June 17, 1999. He was a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, and was Vice-President of Martin & Sons Wholesale Florist. He was a Former Deputy Sheriff for Jefferson County. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, and attended Auburn University. Mr. Horst was preceded in death by his father, Martin F. Horst.
