Cooprider, Earl, age 79, of Pinson, died April 5, 1999. He was a retired minister having served 35 years with the Church of Nazarene. He was a member of Center Point Church of Nazarene, a Veteran of World War II, recipient of the Purple Heart, a Bronze Cluster and three Battle Stars. Mr. Cooprider was ordained in Louisville, Ky. by the Church of Nazarene in August of 1952. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Center Point Church of Nazarene with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville. He will lie in-state on Thursday from 1-2 PM. Survivors: wife, Mary Cooprider, Birmingham; two daughters, Janice Fleisher, Nashville, Tenn., and Sharon Little, Middleburg, Fla.; three sons, Terry Cooprider, Colorado Springs, Colo., David Earl Cooprider, Richland Center, Wis., and Stephen Cooprider, Lowell, Ind.; two sisters, Nolia O'Sullivan, Searcy, Ark., and Opal Ranson, Denmark, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mills, Ruth S. (MRS. ALBERT L.), age 83, of Mountain Brook, AL died April 4, 1999. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Albert for 60 years. She was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Albert; her daughter, Jan Mills Coleman; her son and daughter-in-law, Ted A. Mills and Gail L. Mills, and her granddaughters, Abigail Ruth Mills and Leigh Allison Mills, all of Birmingham. Lovelady, Mr. Richard Clyde (DICK), age 71, of Vestavia, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 1999. Funeral services will be held at Elmwood Chapel on April 10, 1999, at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Reverend Harry Walls and Reverend Joe Simmons will lead the service. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham. Mr. Lovelady was the son of Henry Clyde and Frances Jones Lovelady. He is survived by his: wife, Martha Bentley; son, Rick, and wife Suzanne Baker, of Birmingham; two daughters, Pam Kinnebrew and husband Terry, of Hoover, Patty Lucas and husband Roger, of Hoover; step-daughter, Clare Specht and Rod Matthews of Austell, Georgia; sister, Jacqueline and husband, Edward H. Till; grandchildren, Heath, Dylan, Madison, Corrin, Noah; and his beloved dog, Sandy. Dick was stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado, during the Korean conflict. It was there, at the Army Dog Training Center, that PFC Lovelady found his life's work, going on to become one of the foremost trainers in the country, training dogs for law enforcement, stage, screen and television, as well as for families and businesses, through Dick Lovelady's School for Dogs. With degrees from both Auburn and the University of Alabama, he was also an energetic and innovative educator, serving as teacher and principal in the Birmingham area high schools. The family suggests memorials be sent to Shades Mountain Independent Church, where Dick was an enthusiastic member. Services are under the direction of Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home (251-7227).
Glenn, Mr. Charles, age 61, of Columbiana died April 3, 1999. He was a member of Mt. Era Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Janet Glenn; son, Charles Stephen Glenn; two daughters, Kim Phelps, all of Columbiana, and Jenny Morris of Wilsonville; brother, Frank Glenn of Adamsville; sister, Judith Wisley of Columbus, Indiana; four grandchildren. Barnett, Wilburn Bunyon, age 98, passed from this life on April 5, 1999. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie Mae of 72 years. He is survived by daughter, Alyne Williams of Birmingham; sons, Dyrel of Birmingham and Gilbert of Cleveland, Tenn. He was a member of Robinwood Baptist Church.
