Griffin, Frank Howard, age 74, of Birmingham, passed away December 30, 1998. Mr. Griffin was retired from the Birmingham Fire Department and Sears Roebuck Downtown Store. He was a member and a Jr. Warden of St. John's Episcopal Church. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 2, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Johns Episcopal Church on Ensley Ave. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jackson Griffin of Birmingham; one son, Rod (Lisa) Griffin of Birmingham; one daughter, Becky Griffin Cason of Chelsea; three granddaughters, Ginger Griffin of Hoover, Natalie Cason, Amy Cason, both of Chelsea; three brothers, Dr. Belton Griffin of Houston, Tex., Bruce Griffin, Dr. Arthur Griffin, both of Taft, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., American Ca ncer Society, or to a favorite charity. Johns-Ridout's Southside directing.

Seltzer, Rev. Jesse, age 84, of Birmingham, passed away Monday, March 29, 1999. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for 58 years, Pastor Dwayne Hurt. Services will be Saturday, April 3, 11 AM, with burial in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 4-6 PM, at Poole Funeral Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Seltzer; brother, Johnnie Jackson; sister, Ella M. Mar shall; stepson, Andrew Lake; stepdaughter, Lila Hardy. Survivors: one sister, Alic e (Joseph) Streeter, Baltimore, MD; a God daughter, Maxine Steen of Birmingham; a nephew, whom he raised, James Seltzer; two devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse (Mable) Washington, with whom he resided at the time of his death; a host of step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas Mrs. Shirley Ann, age 53, of Birmingham, died Thursday, December 24, 1998. She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, at 11:00 a.m. from the church with burial in Zion Memorial Gardens. Survivor: sister, Rev. Vivian Pippens. Arrington Funeral Home directing.

Bellew, Mrs. Alma Harvey, age 83, of Blount County, died December 29, 1998. She was a member of Oneonta Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Sylvester Bellew. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, at 11 a.m. at Lemley Chapel, Oneonta with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Oneonta. Rev. Dean Hampton, Rev. Bill Barnett, and Rev. Fred Nichols officiating. Visitation will begin after 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Lemley Funeral Chapel, Oneonta (205) 274-2323. Everson, Mrs. Pheonia C., of Birmingham, died Sunday, March 28, 1999. She was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 11:00 AM, at St. Joseph Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors: spouse, E. L. Crenshaw, Paul Eugene, Sr., age 62, of Birmingham, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace J. and Johnnie J. Crenshaw. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was employed as Maintenance Supervisor for Homeland Vinyl Products and retired from St. Regis and Union Camp. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. The funeral service will be held at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel, 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 3, 1999. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 2, 5:30-8:00 PM. Survivors: his loving wife of 31 years, Ruth F. Crenshaw; son, Paul E. Crenshaw, Jr. (Brenda); granddaughter, Christi Lynn Crenshaw; stepsons, L. Marshall Strange (Sheila), Dean E. Strange (Mary Elizabeth), all of Birmingham; brothers, W. Donald Crenshaw, Remlap, and Roland L. Crenshaw; sisters, Betty Herring, Mobile, Barbara Jackson, Oneonta, Geraldine Johnson, Dora; twin sister, Pauline Hughes, Mobile; numerous nieces and nephews. Bandelier, Dorothy F., 79, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, and resident of Birmingham for 30 years, passed away March 30, 1999. She was a retired Bookkeeper for the Kan sas City School System, a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church Joy Ministry and Belle Terre Garden Club. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 11 AM, from the Chapel of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Hoover, with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Hoover. Drew Ramsey officiating. Visitation is Friday, April 2, 6-8 PM, at the funeral home. Plaxco, Agnes Devlin, age 106, of Birmingham, passed away December 30, 1998. She graduated from Erskine College in 1911. She served on the faculty of Erskine College from 1912 to 1916. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Due West, SC with burial in Due West Cemetery, Due West, SC. Survivors: sons, Moffatt R. Plaxco of Santa Clara, CA and John Devlin Plaxco of Birmingham; daughter, Elizabeth Plaxco Patrick of Charlotte, NC. Johns Ridout's South side directing.

Jones, Patricia, age 31, of Montevallo, died December 27, 1998. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 2, at 1 p.m. at Everdale Baptist Church in Montevallo. Lewis, Robert Ennis, Sr., age 88, of Boligee, Alabama, passed December 26, 1998 in a Manhattan, New York hospital. Blair, Thelma, age 92, of Cleveland, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. Graveside services will be Thursday, April 8, at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Mount Cemetery. Hightower, Eline Kimbrel, 85, of Birmingham, passed away on December 31, 1998. She was a member of West End Baptist Church and a former employee of the Birmingham Water Works. She was a graduate of the University of Montevallo and Massey Business College. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Lynn Hightower Bowen and Bruce Bowen; several half nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, January 2, at 8:15 a.m. with a chapel service at 9:30 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Elmwood Chapel directing.

Perkins, Nell E., age 84, of Birmingham, died Wednesday, December 30, 1998. She was a member of the Huffman Independent Methodist Church. Services will be Saturday, January 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Clifford officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors include: daughters, Kirksey Speer of Winterpark, Fla., Betty Jo San Agustin of Tampa, Fla., Frances Otts of Birmingham, and Ida Faye Hughes of Clearwater, Fla.; sons, John E. Perkins and Donald L. Perkins, both of Birmingham; sisters, Eloise Baucum of Dawson Springs, Ky. and Gladys Noffsinger of Central City, Ky.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
