SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Era Wilhelm Barbee died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in an area nursing home.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Chambless and Martha Hess, both of Scottsboro; and two grandsons.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Roxy Duffey
HENAGAR, Ala. - Roxy Haney Duffey died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 40.
She was a daughter of the late Raymond Haney and Willa Mae Holt.
Survivors include two brothers, Gary and Ronald Haney, both of Rossville, Ga.; and one nephew.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. CST at Kerby Funeral Home with elder Tony Ivey officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, in Henagar.
Vernie Hicks
STEVENSON, Ala. - Vernie Hicks died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 87.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. CST at Rudder Funeral Home with the Rev. James Helton and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Stevenson City Cemetery.
Doyle Parker
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Doyle Vernon Parker of the Mount Vernon community died at his home.
He was the retired co-owner of Parkers Pump Service after 25 years and of the holiness faith.
He was the son of the late Eugene and Martha Cora Duncan Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Murphy Parker; two daughters, Judy Hammett and Kim Henry, all of the Mount Vernon community; one brother, Thurman Parker; and three sisters, Gaynell Benefield, Joyce Hicks and Ruth Collins.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Payne.
Burial will be in Walkers Chapel Cemetery.
Bobby Rogers
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Bobby Roy Rogers died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in an area hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Deliah Beddingfield Rogers; two daughters, Rachel Rogers, Huntsville, Ala., and Amy Humphrey, Henderson, Tenn.; one son, Steven Rogers, Austin, Texas; his mother, Marie Rogers, Madison, Ala.; one sister, Billie Moore, Madison; one brother, Eugene Rogers, Hurst, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at First Baptist Church, Scottsboro.
Burial was in Pine Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were made by Scottsboro Funeral Home.
Katherine Mattox
BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Katherine Mattox of Bridgeport died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998. She was 71.
She was formerly of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., attended Edgeville Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lawton.
Survivors include one son, John Mattox, Norfolk, Va.; two granddaughters; and one great-grandchild.
Services were today at 2 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Jasper, Tenn.
Burial was in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was to be after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Ernestine G. Gibson died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in an area medical center. She was 71.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Lacy and the Rev. John Keefe officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.

RAINSVILLE, Ala - Lee Gray died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at his home. He was 71.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Dean Gray; one son, Bob Gray, Rainsville; two sisters, Kay Hall, Crossville, Ala., and Jean Davis, Bryant, Ala.; one brother, Carl Gray, Bryant; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Robin Hicks, and the mother of the late David and Noah Hicks.
Survivors include one son, R.D. Hicks; two sisters, Edna Stevens and Deola Hall, both of Winchester, Tenn.; one brother, Warnie Stills, Decherd, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Ott; two daughters, Rita Lynn Ott, Gary, Ind., and Tammy Sue Ott, Hartsville, Ala.; two sons, Billy Ray and Dewayne Elton Ott, Dogtown, Ala.; his mother, Opal Tipton, Decherd, Tenn.; three sisters, Patricia Uchman, Lowell, Ind., Rita Wilbanks, Powell, Ala., and Carrolyn Fergerson, Decherd; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
