GADSDEN, Ala. - Beatrice Jessie Ward died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 75.
She was a member of New Liberty Tabernacle of Praise Assembly of God.
Survivors include a son, William L. Ward, Crossville, Ala.; and a brother, H.F. Wells, Gadsden, Ala.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Burt Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie J. Simmons and the Rev. Melvin Cook Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Walker Chapel Cemetery.
Gladys Wells
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Gladys Elmore Wells died Saturday, March 20, 1999, in an area hospital.
She was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church and the widow of William Claude Wells.
Survivors include a daughter, Elwanda Hairston, Fort Payne; four sisters, Ada Cordia Cavin, Ruth Jewel Epps, Ruby Mae Brooks and Melba Eula McMahan, all of Fort Payne; three grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Burt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Dan Clanton officiating.
Burial will be in Walkers Chapel Cemetery.
Hubert Wooten
HIGDON, Ala. - Hubert Russell Wooten died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at his home. He was 56.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Dee Bethune and the Rev. Jamie Holcomb officiating.
Burial will be in Paynes Gap Cemetery.
Raymond Akins
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Raymond Akins of the Blake community died Sunday, March 21, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 78.
He was a member of Wesley's Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hardman Akins; daughter, Maxine Newsome, Huntsville, Ala.; a son, Paul Akins, Fort Payne; his twin brother, Robert Akins, Fort Payne; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with Terry Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.
Elva Allen
ROSALIE, Ala. - Elva Elizabeth Hallman Allen died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 96.
Mrs. Allen was the widow of George Allen.
Survivors include two sons, James C. Allen, Flintstone, Ga., and Charles R. Allen, Lascassas, Tenn.; four daughters, Betty Schmars, Smyrna, Tenn., Pauline Everett, Pisgah, Ala., Mabel A. Brazelton, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Dorothy Allen, Rosalie; a sister, Radar Brooks, Stevenson, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. CST at Kerby Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Smith and the Rev. Edd Gant officiating.
Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Henagar.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. CST at the funeral home.

BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Mable Marie Guess died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at her home. She was 72.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Stevenson Church of God with Roy Dix officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Vernon Mince died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at his home. He was 73.
He was a member of Gault Avenue Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 437 of Fort Payne, and was serving on the De Kalb Cherokee Gas Board.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Durham Mince; two daughters, Brenda Mince and Leesa Martin, all of Fort Payne; two sons, Aubrey Mince, Miami, and Scott Mince, Athens, Ala.; a brother, Willard Mince, Fort Payne; three grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne, with the Rev. Mike Mitchell and the Rev. Phillip Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Opal Ovella Raulston died Monday, March 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 80.

Minnie Driskill
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Minnie Driskill died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 97.
She attended First Presbyterian Church of Fort Payne.
Survivors include a brother, Carl Driskill, Dawson, Ala., two sisters, Jewell Ballard, Kennesaw, Ga., and Bonnie Gray Beal, Somerset, Ky.; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be today at 2:30 p.m. in Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends today from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Payne.
Betty Farmer
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Betty Sue Mashburn Farmer died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 61.
Survivors include her husband, Denver Farmer; two daughters, Ilean Stewart and Michelle Farmer, North Carolina; three sisters, Mae Mullins, Georgia, and Velma McGee and Lorene Monroe, Fyffe, Ala.; one brother, Bobby Mashburn, Tennessee.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Screws and brother J. Clifton Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
