George Simmons
ALBERTVILLE, Ala. - George Robert Simmons died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at his home. He was 72.
He was the father of the late Steve A. Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Simmons; daughters, Tammie George, Sue Moses, Charlene Snider and Melissa Simmons; son, Robert Simmons, all of Albertville; brother, John R. Simmons, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were today at 3:30 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home in Rainsville, with brother Junior Reed officiating.
Burial was in Asbury Cemetery.

FYFFE, Ala. - Jacqueline Wilson Higgins died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at her home. She was 76.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville, Ala., with the Rev. Terry Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Tenbroeck Cemetery.
Judith Houston FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Judith G. Houston died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 56.
Arrangements will be announced by W.T. Wilson Funeral Home, Rainsville, Ala.
Barbara Jacoway
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Barbara A. Jacoway died Thursday, April 1, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 62.
She was a member of Fort Payne First Baptist Church.
She was an administrative assistant for DeKalb Ambulance Service and a member of the DeKalb County Democrat Executive Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Harold J. Jacoway; two daughters, Connie Nelson and Melissa Rice, both of Fort Payne; a sister, Ruthie Jett, Rainsville, Ala.; four brothers, Darel Gray, Rainsville, Donald and Kenneth Gray, both of Rossville, and Ronnie Gray, Fort Payne; and four grandchildren.
The funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Briggs King officiating.
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
Judith Houston
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Judith Gail Houston died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 56.
She was a member of High Point Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Houston Jr., Rising Fawn, Ga., and Jim Houston, Fort Payne; mother, Vera Philips, Fort Payne; two sisters, Mattie Fay Mitchell and Deloris Shelton, both of Fort Payne; a brother, Aubry Lee Hester, Ohio.
Services were held today at 3 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home in Rainsville, Ala., with the Rev. Larry Hayes officiating.
Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Ernie Benefield
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Ernie Martin Benefield died Sunday, April 4, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 92.
Mrs. Benefield was a retired cook and a member of Davis Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Martin.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Fields, Fort Payne; two sisters, Viola Keith, Chattanooga, and Grace York, Trenton, Ga.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Burt Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Erskin Gossett STEVENSON, Ala. - Erskin Wheeler Gossett died Monday, April 5, 1999, at his home. He was 59.
Survivors include a stepson, Curtis Blevins; stepdaughters, Sandy Blevins, New Hope, Tenn.; five sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Fackler, Ala., Louise Steeley, Section, Ala., Doris Shavers, Hollywood, Ala., Linda Phillips, Stevenson, and Peggy Holland, Scottsboro, Ala.; four brothers, Alfred Gossett, Fackler, Ala., Windell, Clarence and Larry Gossett, all of Stevenson.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CDT at Rudder Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gamble and the Rev. Buster McCulley officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
G.T. Davis
DUTTON, Ala. - G.T. Davis died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 80.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Dean, Sylvania, Ala., Gene Dean, Rossville, Ga., Herbie Dean, Dixie W.Va., and Ronnie Dean, Ashgrove, Mo.; three daughters, Peggy Curran, Hixson, Wanda "Sue' Price, Red Bank, and Darlene Grodski, Chattanooga; a brother, J.D. Davis, Alabama; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Porter officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Rainsville (Ala.) Funeral Home.
Milford Roden
FORT PAYNE, AL - Milford Lee Roden died Thursday, April 22, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 81.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Mae Roden; a son, Larry D. Roden, Rainsville; sister, Lily Mae Dennis, Trion, Ga.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
George Elmes
DECATUR, Ala. - George Charles Elmes died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the home of his daughter. He was 86.
He retired from Monsanto Co. and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Christensen Elmes; daughter, Patricia G. Burnett, Dalton; two sons, Richard A. Elmes, Huntsville, Ala., and George Charles "Chuck' Elmes Jr., Chattanooga; two brothers, Eugene Elmes, Westwood, Mass., and John Elmes, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1015 East Lakeshore Drive in Dalton, Ga.
A graveside service will be held in Maple Hill cemetery in Huntsville at a later date.
