BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Avery Lee Felts died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in an area nursing home. He was 78.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. CST at the Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. CST at the funeral home.
Euthema George
SYLVANIA, Ala. - Euthema George died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, in a Chattanooga hospital. She was 79.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Neeley, Sylvania; sister, Zella Lyons, Fort Payne; brother, Floyd O. Flarity, Baytown, Texas; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home in Rainsville with the Rev. Jim Griffin and the Rev. Terry Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. View Memory Gardens.
Mary Lee Clark
MENTONE, Ala. - Mary Lee Clark died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at her home. She was 65.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Leon Clark, Chattanooga, Jerome Clark, Whitwell, Tenn., and Ralph D. Clark, Valley Head, Ala.; sisters, Lois Enik, Mentone, and Grace Yvonee Hale, Collinsville, Ala.; brothers, Loyd and Donald Ray McSpadden, Mentone, and James W. "Pete' McSpadden, Chickamauga, Ga.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne with minister Bill Russell officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends today at the funeral home.
Winston Combs
FYFFE, Ala. - Winston Lee Combs of Hazel Green, Ala., formerly of Fyffe, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at his residence. He was 65.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Blackwell Combs; a son, Tony Lee Combs of Hazel Green; three sisters, Annie Swader of Rainsville, Ala., Helen Hairston of Fort Payne, Ala., and Margaret Blackwell of Tiftonia; two brothers, Randall Combs of Pisgah, Ala., and Steve Combs of Centre, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. CST at the W.T. Wilson Funeral Home in Rainsville, with the Rev. Steve Ostrzycki and the Rev. Lon Ostrzycki officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greens Chapel Cemetery.
Robert Daniel
MENTONE, Ala. - Robert L. "Bob' Daniel of Mentone died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in a De Kalb County hospital. He was 92.
A native of North Carolina, he was a son of William Henry and Mary Paschal Daniel.
He was a member of Mentone United Methodist Church and Webster Groves Masonic Lodge No. 84.
He was retired from Nabisco as an operations supervisor after 44 years of service.
He was the former mayor of Mentone.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Shigley Daniel, Mentone; daughter, Colleen "Bobbie' D. Hilderbrand Jr., Mentone; sisters, Lorene Wilson, both of Summerfield, N.C.; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Payne, with the Rev. Dennis Mays and the Rev. Linda Tucker officiating.
Burial will follow in Little River Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday after 1 p.m.
Lucy Britton
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Lucy Britton died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in an area nursing home. She was 79.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Baker and Lorene Watson, Flat Rock, Ala.; brother, John Edmonds, Flat Rock.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Woods Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ledwell and the Rev. Billy Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Haven Memorial Gardens.

Lawrence Brown
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - The Rev. Lawrence E. Brown Sr. of Bryant, Ala., died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 80.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. CST at Brown's Chapel Holiness Church with the Revs. Phillip Storey and Hoyt Dalton officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Thelma Browning
BRIDGEPORT, Ala. - Thelma R. Browning died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at her residence in Carrollton, Ga. She was 79.
A native of Bridgeport, she moved to Carrollton in 1971.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she taught the Joy Sunday School Class for many years.
She was a member of Sunset Hills Country Club, a former of the Pilot Club and the Civic Women's Club.
She was an officer and member of the board of directors of Browning Mills and Tennessee Alabama Textile Inc.
Later she managed for two years Browning and Associates, a mortgage and financial services firm, following the death of her husband, George F. Browning Jr.
She also served on various committees of the Alabama Baptist Convention and in a statewide office of the Eastern Star of Alabama.
She and her late husband had been longtime supporters of a family of missionaries to the Philippines.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Wagner and Cynthia McCutcheon, both of Carrollton; and a granddaughter.
Services were today at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Carrollton with the Rev. Larry Insko officiating.
Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. EST in Cumberland View cemetery in South Pittsburg, Tenn., with the Rev. Bob Skelton officiating.
