Billie Alley
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Billie Sue Alley died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at her home. She was 67.
She was a native of Chattanooga and had been a resident of Madison County for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Alley; one daughter, Rae Ann Hackett, Huntsville; three sisters, Norma Jean Hart, Cleveland, Tenn., and Bobbie Lovelace and Clio King, both of Chattanooga; two brothers, James A. Burkett, Gettysburg, Pa., and Thomas Ray Burkett, Cleveland; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Meridianville, Ala.
Arrangements are by Spry Funeral Home.
Thelma White
RAINSVILLE, Ala. - Thelma White died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at her home. She was 77.
Survivors incldue two sons, Fred White, Rainsville, and Ricky White, mdison, Tenn.; two daughters, Virginia James, Section, Ala., and Leisa Bunch, Rainsville; one sister, Era Phillips Summerford, Trenton, Ga.; five grandchildren.
Services were today at 11 a.m. at Old Sardis Holiness Church with the Rev. Charles Willmon and the Rev. Oron Whitley officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Arrangememts are by Rainsville Funeral Home.
Dessie Robertson
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Dessie Burma Sparks Robertson died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 92.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Darymple, Summerville, Ga., several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Winford Robertson officiating.
Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
James McDuffie
GADSDEN, Ala. - James E. McDuffie died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 72.
Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home, Chattanooga.
Veda Pierce
HENAGAR, Ala. - Veda Ruth Pierce of Jackson, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. She was 81.
Arrangements will be announced by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar.
Hazel Touchstone
CENTRE, Ala. - Hazel I. Touchstone died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, in an Alabama health care facility. She was 77.
She was a member of the Church of God.
She was a native of Collinsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Touchstone.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Pierce, Centre; one brother, W.A. Wooten, Blairsville, Ga.; four sisters, Elouise Chamlee, Barbara Gifford, Summerville, Ga., Louise Boatfield, and Edell Whatley, Chattanooga; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at Jordan Funeral Home in Centre, with the Rev. Artis Decker officiating.
Arnold Gilbert
FYFFE, Ala. - Arnold L. Gilbert died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at his home. He was 90.
He was a teacher in Dekalb County, Ala., and Sullivan County, Tenn., with 45 years of service.
He was a member of Fyffe Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel McGullian.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Ramsey Gilbert.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Warlick and the Rev. Earnest Corbitt officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dora Tribble
RAINSVILLE, Ala. - Dora Tribble of Rainsville died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, in a North Alabama hospital. She was 84.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Clements.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Conaway, Fort Payne, Yevonia Snyder, Ringgold, Ga.; two brothers, Winston Dukes, Birmingham, and Junior Dukes, Gowin; four sisters, Roberta Sparks, Fort Payne, Girlie Black, Florida, Winnie Johnson, Rossville, Ga., and Estell Thomas, Huntsville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with Dr. R. Pat McFadden officiating.
Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mary Solomon
RAINSVILLE, Ala. - Mary Sue Solomon of Midlothian, Va., and formerly of Rainsville, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 83.
Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Ford, Midlothian; one brother, Wallace Allison, Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters, Maurine Pruitt, Ringgold, Ga., Ina Keith, Altoona, Jo Bailey, Rainsville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Central Church of Christ with the Rev. Elbert Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in Creastwood Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home.
Myrtle Wolf
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Myrtle Wolf died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in a Jackson County hospital. She was 78.
Survivors include a daughter Karen Sanders, Louisville, Ky., two sons, John Wolf, Ethica, N.Y., and Randy Wolf, Scottsboro; two brothers, Jack Phipps, Dayton, Ohio and Joe Phipps, Baltimore, Md.; sister, Cleta Hartsoe, Winston Salem, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. CST at First Baptist Church of Scottsboro.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
