VALLEY HEAD, Ala. - Mildred Beatrice Shrader died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 75.
Survivors include five daughters, Freda Hester, Maxine Hicks and Kathy Gass, all of Valley Head, and Barbara Ellis, Florida; two sons, Charles W. Shrader and Alvin Richard Shrader, Valley Head; three sisters, Jessie Stalvey, Henagar, Nellie Durham, Sulpher Springs, Ala., and Gertrude Lowe, Rainsville; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at High Point Church of God with the Rev. Larry Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in New Home Cemetery.
Vester Steele
STEVENSON, Ala. - Vester Lucille Steele died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in an area nursing home. She was 81.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Sue Matthews; two sons, Bobby and Ben T. Steele, Stevenson; one sister, Noami Bunch, Alliance, Ohio; four brothers, Bill, Aubrey, Edward, and Leonard Batey, all of Scottsboro, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grndchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home with Howard McCallie officiating.
Burial will be in Price Cemetery.
James Owens
FACKLER, Ala. - James Wilson Owens died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 73.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Kerrigan, Altamont Springs, Fla., and Judy Palmer, Hammond, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala. with Howard McCallie officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Cemetery.
Veda Pierce
HENAGAR, Ala. - Veda Ruth Pierce of Jackson, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. She was 81.
Arrangements will be announced by Kerby Funeral Home, Henagar.
Bobby Rice CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Bobby L. Rice died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 59.
He was a widely known car salesman and gospel singer. He played baseball and softball on several teams, and coached Little League baseball for several years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland, Cleveland Lions Club, Tennessee National Guard, and the Antique Car Club.
He was formerly employed by C.C. Card Ford, and was a longtime employee of Toyota of Cleveland.
Mr. Rice was very active in the Kidney Foundation.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.L. Rice, and his stepfather, Wallace Harden.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Buckner Rice; one son, Lynn Rice, Cleveland; three sisters, Jane Carter, Riceville, and Janice Murray and Anita McClain, Cleveland; one brother, Lake Harden, Cleveland; and one grandchild.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the North Chapel of Buckner-Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Griffith and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

James McDuffie
GADSDEN, Ala. - James E. McDuffie died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 72.
Arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home, Chattanooga.
Myrtle Stapp
FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Myrtle L. Stapp died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at her home. She was 79.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, l.D. Stapp Jr., Cuba, Ala., and James Kenneth Stapp, Meridian, Miss.; two daughters, Gloria LaRue Williams, Fort Payne, and Amelia Lagergren, Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Martha Richards, Rainsville, Ala.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Glenwood cemetery with chaplain Phil Howell officiating.
Arrangements were made by Burt Funeral Home, Fort Payne.

SECTION, Ala. - Margaret Holmes died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in a Huntsville, Ala., hospital. She was 87.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Anderson, Rainsville, and Mona Lorene Przytulski, Detroit; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Merril Akins officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Haven Memorial Gardens.

IDER, Ala. - Margaret J. Fann died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 74.
She was a member of Ider Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Fann; one son, Larry Fann, Ider; two daughters, Linda Baker, Alexandra City, Ala., and Gail Crider, Mentone, Ala.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. CST at Kerby Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Guinn officiating.
Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. CST at the funeral home.
