Mr. J. B. White died March 20, at the Home of Mr. and Mrs. Grover C. White at age 82. He was born in Heard Co., Ga. He married Miss Rutha Steele of Chambers Co., Ala. Moved here about 27 years ago. Mrs. Rutha White died in 1917. Burial was at the Eiland Cemetery. Two Sons, Grover C. White of Clanton and Wessie White of Jemison, Three Daughters, Mrs. N. A. Dennis of Jemison, Mrs. Mollie Edwards of Montgomery, and Mrs. A. F. Pyron of Deatsville.

Wallace, Vannie (White)
March 02, 1912 - May 21, 2000
Funeral services for Vannie Mae Wallace, 88, Maplesville, will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist No. 2 on Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove cemetery No. 2 in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Wallace was born on March 2, 1912, the daughter of the late George and Annie White. She was a homemaker. She died on May 21, 2000 at her home. Survivors include three sons, Aubry Wallace and Jesse Wallace, Maplesville, and Roy Wallace, Jr., Maplesville; one daughter, Myrtle Daniels, Clanton; one sister, Lou Cadenhead, Tuscaloosa; one brother, Ernest M. White, Paxton; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Wilbanks, George T.
December 16, 1863 - June 24, 1938
G. T. Wilbanks, age 77, died at local Hospital Friday. He died as result of being hit by a vehicle a few days ago. He is survived by his Wife, 2 Sons, T. E. Wilbanks of Montgomery, and Joe W. Wilbanks of Lanett, 3 Daughters, Mrs. F. E. Fiquett of Lanett, Mrs. J. Mell Martin of Clanton, and Mrs. Reed Metes, Tupelo, Miss., 3 Brothers, and 2 Sisters. He was hit by a truck June 18. Burial was Clanton City Cemetery.

Wilbanks, Nettie
November 26, 1864 - December 26, 1923
Mrs. Nettie Bailey Wilbanks died Dec. 27, Husband is G. T. Wilbanks of Clanton, three Sons: Thomas E. Wilbanks of Montgomery, Jack and Wheeler Wilbanks of Birmingham, four Daughters: Mrs. F. E. Fiquett of West Point, Ga., Mrs. J. Mell Martin of Clanton, Mrs. E. L. and Miss Carl Wilbanks of Montgomery. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Horace G. Williams of Cincinnati, burial was in the Clanton City Cemetery.

Hartley, Winnie (Wilbanks)
November 16, 1900 - February 21, 1937
Mrs. Ernest L. Hartley, age 36, funeral service was held from the home of J. Mell Martin of Clanton Monday. She was the Sister of Mrs. J. Mell Martin. She died from a Pistol shot inflicted Sunday while she was visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Latham Ellis. He home was in Montgomery. She is survived by her Husband and 1 Son, Father, G. T. Wilbanks of Clanton, 3 Sisters, and 2 Brothers. Burial was in the Clanton City Cemetery.

Payton, Fannie V. (Wilkins)

Funeral services for Fannie V. Payton, 84, Clanton, will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. Payton was born on Jan. 8, 1917, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Wilkins. She was a homemaker. She died at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery on Feb. 13, 2001. Survivors include one son, Roger Payton, Clanton; one daughter, Laverne Dismukes, Eclectic; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Little, Annie Lanette (Williams)

Funeral services for Annie Lannette (Williams) Little, 76, Clanton, will be held on Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at First Baptist Church of Clanton at 11 a.m. with Dr. Larry Michael and Rev. Keith Dodd officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Little was born on June 16, 1923, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Grady Goodwin and Maude Elizabeth Williams. She was a school teacher for 28 years, teaching in the Bessemer City School System and at Maplesville Elementary School in Maplesville. She died on Feb. 16, 2000, at Carraway Medical Center in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Cecil Little, Clanton; one daughter Mary Ellen Little Hood, Chantilly, Va.; two sisters, Mary Sue Melton, Little Rock, Ark., and Christine Childress, Clanton; four brothers, Joe H. Williams, Moulton, Marcus D. Williams, MIllbrook, Ray Williams, Montgomery, and Ralph Williams, Clanton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Grady F. Williams.

Williams, Billy Joe

Funeral services for Billy Joe Williams, 54, Clanton, will be held Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roland Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Williams was born on Jan. 15, 1945, in Alabama, the son of Mrs. Annie Pearl Williams and the late J. L. Williams. He was a farmer. He died on March 29, 1999, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. Among the survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gail Williams, Clanton; one son, Kevin Williams, Clanton; three daughters, Mrs. Brenda Baker, Mrs. Karen Popwell, and Mrs. Donna Maddox, all of Clanton; his mother, Mrs. Annie Pearl Williams, Clanton; two brothers, Bobby Williams and Harold Williams, both of Clanton; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Baker, Clanton; six grandchildren, three sons-in-law, and one daughter-in-law.

Nebo Methodist cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Williams was born June 23, 1908, in Alabama to the late Robert A. and Nellie Williams. He worked as a farmer. He died May 15, 1998 at Vaughan Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Dean Williams of Clanton; a daughter, Doris W. Moore of Clanton; two sons: Daniel (Buddy) N. Williams of Russellville and Randy Mick Williams of Clanton; two sisters: Peggy W. Powell of Ozark and Ruby W. Nichols of Hueytown; a brother John W. Williams of Jemison; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow at Maplesville Cemetery, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Williams was born on May 16, 1937, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Thomas Rex and Pearl Williams. She was a clerk. She was a member of the Maplesville Lion's Club and a member of Maplesville Baptist Church. She died on April 12, 2000, at her residence. Survivors include one special friend, Deborah Hatcher, Orville; two nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and one great-great nephew.

Burnette, Ellen Virginia (Williams)

Ellen Burnette, 72, died Sept. 26.She is survived by her daughter, Ann Adams of Slap Out, Ala.; sons, Teddy Chadwick and Skeeter Burnette of Clanton and Wendell Burnette of Cullman; brother, Pete Williams of Jemison, sisters, Edna Littleton, Dean Cleckler and Earnestine Logan all from Clanton; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 28 at Martin Funeral Home with burial at Martin Memorial Cemetery. Reverends Kenny Coburn and Willie Littleton officiated.

Williams, Grady Edward

Funeral services for Grady Edwards Williams, 77 and a resident of Clanton, will be held today, Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Henthorne officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton. Born on Feb. 21, 1924 in Tallapoosa County, he was the son of the late Edgar Ernest Williams and the late Drascilla Edwards Williams. A truck driver, he died on Dec. 7, 2001 in Calera. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Denise Williams. He is survived by his wife, Edith H. Williams of Clanton, a son, Larry Williams of Helena; four daughters, Carolyn Maloy of Cussett, Kathryn Jarrell of Millbrook and Nancy Headley and Tracy Causey, both of Clanton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Grady F. Williams, 77, of Cocoa, Fla., were Jan 26, 1999, at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Rockledge, Fla. Burial was in Florida Memorial Gardens located north of Melbourne, Fla. Mr. Williams was born May 15, 1921 in Lawley to Rev. and Mrs. Grady G. Williams. He grew up in Clanton area and was a graduate of Chilton County High School. After earning an electrical engineering degree from Auburn University he worked with NASA from 1950-1975. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of King Street Baptist Church in Rockledge, serving on its board of deacons. He is survived by his wife, Mavis Williams of Cocoa, Fla.; two sons: J. Larry Williams of Opelika and Gregory K. Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers: Joe Williams of Moulton, Marcus Williams of Millbrook, Ray Williams of Montgomery and Ralph Williams of Clanton; three sisters: Lanette Williams and Christine Williams, both of Clanton, and Mary Sue Melton of North Little Rock, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Williams died Thursday, April 21.Survivors include his wife, Mary Grace Williams of Clanton; three daughters, Pat Seale of Clanton, Bel Baker of Clanton and Ava Williams of Clanton; son, Tim Williams of Clanton; three sisters, Sarah Benson of Thorsby, Dorothy Williams of Clanton and Eloise Mims of Fairhope; four granddaughters, Adrienne Patterson, Emily Baker and Isabel Baker, all of Clanton, and Kimberly Tanner of Birmingham; and grandson, Jon Seale of Birmingham.

He is survived by three daughters: Jean (Norman) Chase of Holly Pond, Brenda (Connley) Wright of Holly Pond, and Tina Ann (David) Woods of Birmingham; a son, James H. Williams, Jr. of Birmingham; a sister, Imogene Holley of Montgomery; five brothers: Lomar Williams of Calera, Delmer Williams of Oviedo, Fla., Rev. Howard Williams of Pell City, Leon Williams of Montgomery and Melvis Williams of Clanton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Williams died at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster on Wednesday Jan. 28. He was a maintenance superintendent. Williams is survived by his wife, Louise C. Williams of Clanton; his daughter, Debra Williams Motley of Clanton; his daughter, Lisa Ferlise of Sarasota, Fla.; his son, Kendall Williams of Clanton; his granddaughter, Lindsey Esco of Clanton; his grandson, Slade Williams of Clanton; his sister, Nellie Mae Chasteen of Concord; his sister Pearl Orton of Hueytown; his sister, Faye Corley of Prattville; his sister, Mildred Walker of Eufaula. Williams is the son of Willie Benjamin Williams and Ora Gertrude Williams.
