Pearl A. Traywick Services for Pearl Traywick, 85, of Billingsley, will be held today, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Billingsley. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Reverend Ken Barnett officiating. Mrs. Traywick, a homemaker, died at Baptist Medical Center South Feb. 16. Survivors include her sons, Marion and Bobby Traywick of Billingsley; daughter, Bonnie Glass of Billingsley; sister, Dovie Dykes of Prattville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of James and Alice Gray.

Culp, Roberta Traywick
October 29, 1895 - April 20, 1974
Mrs. Roberta Traywick Culp, age 78, of Clanton, died Saturday, April 20th, in Birmingham. Funeral services were held Monday, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Methodist, with burial in the church cemetery. Martin in charge. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Loyd Padgett of Birmingham, Mrs. Mattie Lee Foshee of Clanton, and Mrs. Mary Williams of Birmingham; two brothers, Mr. Leonard Traywick of Clanton and Mr. Aaron Traywick of Sylacauga; five sisters, Mrs. Odie Owen of Thorsby; Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Mrs. Maggie Bice, Mrs. Jewell Wright, and Mrs. Marzell Carter, one son, Mr. Carl Culp of Montgomery; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Native of Chilton County, she was a daughter of Jeffery Thomas Traywick and Mary McKee Traywick.

Tucker, Arthur Thomas
January 14, 1928 - November 11, 1999
Funeral services for Arthur Thomas Tucker, 71, Maplesville, were held on Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Mulberry Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Jones and Dr. Norman H. McCrummen officiating. Burial followed at Mulberry Baptist cemetery in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Tucker was born on Jan. 14, 1928, in Jefferson County, the son of the late Wiley T. Tucker and the late Eula LeCroy. He was a building inspector. He died at Brookwood Medical Center on Nov. 11, 1999. Survivors include one son, Carl Stanley Tucker, Grady; three daughters, Bonnie Green, Montgomery, Lela Allred, Clanton, Barbara Crowe, Woodstock; two brothers, Jack Tucker, Montgomery, and Frank Tucker, Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Edna Earle Tucker, Maplesville, Ramona Short, Montgomery, and Alma Plemmons, Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Tucker, Leland Marsh, Sr.
October 01, 1916 - March 29, 1999
Funeral services for Leland Marsh Tucker, Sr., 82, Montgomery, will be held on Thursday, April 1, 1999, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lamar Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Tucker was born in Alabama on Oct. 1, 1916, the son of the late Leland A. and Clara Mae Tucker. He was retired as a store keeper and as an Alabama Power Co. employee. He died on March 29, 1999 at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel B. "Pat" Tucker, Montgomery; one son, Mike Tucker, Clanton; one daughter-in-law; two granddaughters; and one niece. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation.

Rollan, Mary Frances (Tucker)

Funeral services for Mary Frances Rollan, 71, Birmingham, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton on Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at 1p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Rollan was born on June 1, 1928, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Carl Thomas Tucker and Cecil Marguerite Vase. She was a legal secretary. She died on Nov. 26, 1999 at UAB Medical center in Birmingham. Survivors include her husband, Vernon L. Rollan, Birmingham; two sons, Lamar Rollan, Selma, and Jerrell Rollan, Birmingham; two daughters Sue Utsey, Selma, and Janice Logan, Clanton; two sisters, Carline Devenyns and Jacqueline Whaley, both of Center Point; 11 grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Short, Ramona (Tucker)

Funeral services for Ramona Tucker Short, 64, Montgomery, will be held at the Mulberry Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Bishopa dn Rev. Randy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mulberry Baptist cemetery in Maplesville, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at 6-8 p.m. Short was born in Chilton County on Sept 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Wiley T. and Eula Tucker. She died on Feb. 13, 2001, at Jackson Hospital and Clinic in Montgomery. Survivors include her husband, James T. "Jim" Short, Montgomery; one daughter, Sharon Runyon, Decatur; one son Wade Short, Dothan; two sisters Edna Tucker, Maplesville, and Alma Tucker, Plemmons, Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Jack Tucker, Montgomery, and Frank Tucker, Lawton, Okla.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Lynn Short; one brother, Arthur Tucker; and one sister, Betty Tucker Clenner.

Weldon, Martha Rebecca (Turner)

Mrs. Martha Weldon, age 75, died Clanton Route 3 Sunday. Burial was at McCord Cemetery, survived by 2 Sons and 2 Daughters.

Coppedge, Willa Kathryn (Tyus)
January 10, 1924 - January 25, 2005
Services for Willa Kathryn Coppedge, 81, of Billingsley, were held Thursday, January 28 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charles Christmas and Rev. Dale Foote officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Coppedge died Tuesday, January 25 at Hatley Health Care. Survivors include her son, Wayne Coppedge of Clanton; daughters, Rita Coppedge Pilkington of Pell City and Ann Coppedge Wadeson of Satellite Beach, Florida; sister, Frances Spigner of Jones; two brothers, Cecil T. Tyus Jr. of Billingsley and Leighton A. Tyus of Billingsley; two grandsons, Harmon Coppedge of Clanton and Daniel Wadeson of Gainesville, Florida; two granddaughters, Laurie Coppedge of Alachua, Florida and Kellie Ginn of Mobile; great-grandson, Leighton Park Coppedge of Clanton and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cleve Baker, Belle, died. Funeral was at Clanton Baptist church and burial was at Temple Cem. She leaves a Husband and 6 Children.

Wife of Raymond Marcus -- Mrs. Bertie Marcus --, age 32 of Selma died here at the home of Dr. J. J. [sic] Marcus Wed., June 20. Burial was in Clanton City Cemetery.

Sewell, Edith Mae

Edith Mae Sewell, 77, of Maplesville, died Tuesday October 26 at Chilton Medical Center. She worked as a school bus driver for Chilton County Board of Education. Services are today at Pleasant Grove Baptist #2 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Jones of Bellevue, Michigan, Sara Atchison of Maplesville, Laura Varner of Clanton, and Linda Sewell of Maplesville; five sons, Robert Pickle of Corona, California, Kenneth Pickle of Plantersville, Jimmy Sewell of Clanton, Tommy Sewell of Clanton and Charles Sewell of Maplesville; son-in-law, Don Johnson of Maplesville; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ellie Jones, age 74, of Cooper, Wife of J. [James] Steely Jones died Thur. night. Burial was at Chestnut Creek Friday. Children: Mrs. Mandie Jones of Cooper, Mrs. Anna Arant of Clanton, Mrs. Frances Edwards of Verbena, Mr. Nattie Jones of Cooper, Mr. Ward Jones of Verbena and Eli Jones of Wetumpka.

Giles, Eula B.

Services for Eula B. Giles, 82, of Verbena, will be today at Marbury Church of God at 11 a.m. with Rev. W. L. Adams and Rev. Terry Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home is directing. Giles died Sunday, April 10. Survivors include four sons, Johnnie Eugene Giles of Verbena, Randy Giles of Clanton, Ronald Giles of Verbena and Donald Giles of Clanton; daughter, Hazel Roberts of Marbury; 19 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thilo J. Giles; mother, Eveline Moates Kelly and her son, Junior Giles.

Funeral services for Fannie Mae Gilliland, 72, and a resident of Marbury, will be held today, Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Gray Jones and Rev. Harold Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Chestnut Creek Baptist cemetery in Verbena. Born on May 8, 1929, she was a carpenter. She died at Capital Hill Healthcare Center in Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Gilliland. She is survived by two sons, Charlie f. Gilliland of Marbury and John Gilliland of Tallassee; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Gilliland of Marbury and Reba Gilliland of Tallassee; two sisters, Mattie Wolf of Arizona and Lucy Johnson of Auburn; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Allen Deason of Clanton; sisters Margaret Spigner of Midfield, Birtel Hill of Birmingham and Annie Merle Jones of Auburn; and her grandson, Michael A. Deason of Clanton. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey A. Deason.

McGee. She died on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in Calera. Survivors include her husband, Sherrell C. McGee, Calera; one daughter, Shirley Moore, Brooksville, Fla.; one sister Mary Agnes Adams, Calera; special family members: Allen McGee, Brierfield, and Leonard and Betty McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
