MARY EMMA RANSAW
ALEX CITY — Funeral service for Mary Emma Ransaw, 88, of Alex City will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Unity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Darian Cemetery.
Mrs. Ransaw died Aug. 22 at Russell Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Charlie Frank Ransaw of Alex City; two daughters Elayne (Tommy) Whetstone of Birmingham and Gwendolyn Martin of Alex City; three sisters, Frances Walker, Alice Walker and Fannie Mae Allen, all of Alex City; one brother, Earnest T. (Gloria) Marbury of Gadsden; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wright's Funeral Home will direct the service.
ARCHIE RUNYAN
LINEVILLE — Graveside service for Archie Runyan, 72, of Lineville be Monday at 11 a.m. at Clay County Memory Gardens with Chaplain Dan Keith officiating.
Mr. Runyan died Aug. 23 at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Runyan was a native of Thomasville, Ga., a former resident of Virginia and Delaware, but had lived in Clay County for the past several years. He received his master's degree in biology at the University of Virginia and was a retired biology teacher from Dover Air Base High School in Delaware.
He is survived by one daughter, Janice R. Cooper of Delaware and one granddaughter.
Mr. Runyan was preceded in death by his parents, Alman E. and Lois Callaway Runyan; one son, Gregory A. Runyan; and one brother, William A. "Billy" Runyan.
Pallbearers will be staff of the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends Monday from 9 10:30 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.

MUNFORD — Harold Sellers, 60, of Munford died Saturday at his residence.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Usrey Funeral Home.
GLENN THOMASON
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Glenn "Woody" Thomason, 88, of Sylacauga, will be Tuesday at noon at Shiloh Church. Burial will be in Sylacauga Cemetery.
Mr. Thomason died Aug. 21 at Coosa Valley Baptist Medical Center.
He is survived by three sons, Willie Thomason, Perey L. Thomason and Robert Thomason, all of Sylacauga; six daughters, Beatrice Bradley of Mobile, Annie Thomason of Tuscaloosa, Glenda Spradley of Mobile, Loretta Thomason, Marilyn Thomason and Nikki Thomason, of Atlanta; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Madden Funeral Home.

DAVID RAY BAILEY
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for David Ray Bailey, 50, will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Frank Young officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey died Aug. 24 at University Hospital. He attended Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Childersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Pattie Bailey of Sylacauga; sons, Adam Bailey and wife Wendy of Moody and Lee Bailey of Sylacauga; and sisters, Margie Gravette and Connie Hamilton of Sylacauga and Sue Oakes of Wadesboro, N.C.
Pallbearers will be Brian Carmack, Ronnie Robinson, Clay Williams, Brett Oakes, Drue Oakes, Andy Roper, Chris Carden, Bryan Gravette, Hugh Gravette and Patrick McClure.
Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.
FRANK LEON CHANNELL
PELL CITY — Funeral service for Frank Leon Channell, 67, was Monday at 2 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Jimmy Coleman and the Rev. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Burial was in St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Channell died Aug. 23. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann Channell. He was a resident of Pell City for the past 29 years and was well known for being a produce salesman in the Cropwell area. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
He is survived by daughters, Tracy Zawacki (Jamie) of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Corry Leanne Seale (David) of Pell City; several brothers and sisters; grandchildren, John Turner, Matthew Zawacki and David Seale Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directed the service.
EDNA HOOD CLARIDY
RALEIGH, N.C. — Graveside service for Edna Hood Claridy, 93, will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
Mrs. Claridy died Aug. 21. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Raleigh 2nd Ward. She worked for Hayes Aircraft during World War II. She assembled airplane engines for the cargo planes of that day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Patillo; parents, Jerry Walker Hood and Gussie Cross; daughter, Jean Patillo Clukey; sisters, Ester Hood, Edith Hood and Earl Hood; and brothers, Earnest Hood and Ed Hood.
She is survived by sister, Elois Hood; grandchildren, Joe Fowler, Cathy Fowler and John Clukey; great-grandchildren, David Fowler and Vicki Fowler Gonzalez; great-great-grandson, Austin Tomlinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville will direct the service.

DADEVILLE — Hosea Jones died Aug. 24 at his residence.

MAYBURN ALLISON TEAGUE
CHILDERSBURG — Long-time social and civic leader Mayburn Allison Teague, 96, of Childersburg died Aug. 23 at her residence.
Mrs. Teague came to Childersburg in 1946 with her husband, Ralph Teague, and their three children. She immediately became involved in social and civic groups throughout the town.
She was the recipient of the first chair for the Childersburg Educational Foundation when her family donated $25,000 in her honor.
She was also a recipient of the Childersburg Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame Award.
She served on the E.A. Rainwater Library Board for more than 30 years, and in 1983 she was the first elected chairwoman of the board.
Mrs. Teague worked with United Givers from the time it was organized in Childersburg, giving special service to Crippled Children's Services.
She was a member of Childersburg Garden Club for many years, serving as local president and treasurer for the district organization.
She served as a social worker for the American Red Cross, taught school and owned and managed Teague Insurance Agency for several years.
She was active in the Talladega County Retired Teachers Association and filled many offices in the organization.
Mrs. Teague has been an active member of Childersburg First Baptist Church since June 1947. She served as clerk of the church, secretary for discipleship training, superintendent of Sunday school, and donated many hours to the Women's Missionary Union, both locally and in Talladega County. She was a charter member of the church's XYZ (X-tra Years Of Zest) Club for seniors.
She was a charter member of the Childersburg Heritage Society, and served as co-chairwoman with Mary Farr Hamby to organize the Childersburg Historical Commission, which was instrumental in developing the Butler-Harris Rainwater Museum.
Mrs. Teague received her education at Birmingham Southern and the University of Alabama.
Barbara Rich, director of Rainwater Library, said, "No one will ever replace Mrs. Teague. If we called her and asked her to do something, we knew it would be done. She was so well loved in this community, everyone wanted to please her and no one wanted to say no to her. She was one of the nicest people I've ever known. She never had anything negative to say about anyone. She was a fine Christian woman and she lived her religion."
George Limbaugh, president of the Childersburg Chamber of Commerce, said, "Mayburn Teague was very loyal to the Childersburg Heritage Society. She was a great force in its organization. She worked faithfully with the Childersburg Chamber of Commerce and we thought the world of her."
Becky Hobbs, retired from the Red Cross said she worked many blood drives with Mrs. Teague, and “everything she did, she did well. She never hesitated to help when she was needed. She was always willing, and when she took a job you knew it would be done right."
"Mrs. Teague was a very respected and revered leader among our congregation," said the Rev. John Beck, minister of Childersburg First Baptist Church. "She had an amazing ability to remember faces and places, and helped me get to know folks when I first came here. She knew what was going on. She cared about people and was greatly loved by all. Mayburn Teague is a treasure lost. We should all do so well."
Bill Ham, a longtime friend, said, "Mayburn Teague was a true Southern lady. She could do anything and she respected people. She was loved by everyone who knew her."
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Childersburg with the Rev. John Battle, the Rev. Freddie Edwards and the Rev. Doyle Cook officiating. Burial will be in Branchville Cemetery
with graveside services at 3 p.m.
Mrs. Teague was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Teague, and a daughter, Ashley Teague Wagnon.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph Judson Teague and wife Judy of Opelika and John Allison Teague and wife Tami of Montgomery; six grandchildren, Allison and Ken Bell of Katy, Texas, Todd and Dana Teague of Tuscaloosa, John A. Teague II of Montgomery, Ralph and Amy Teague of Tallassee, Kelly and Samantha Teague of Clearwater, Fla., and Malin Wagnon of Charleston, S. C.; nine great grandchildren; and special companion, Francis Townsend of Childersburg.
Pallbearers will be Steve Mahaffey, Sam Hobbs, Marvin Gober, Fred Thomas, Jimmy McGee, Herman Maddox Jr., John Allen and Mickey James.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

OXFORD — Graveside service for William H. Zachery, 72, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Eden Hills Cemetery
in Anniston with the Rev. Lynnwood Westbrooks officiating.
Mr. Zachery died Aug. 23 at his residence.
He is survived by caregiver, Calvin Ball of Munford.
Anniston Funeral Service will direct the service.
