Sonny Hayes and Rev. Buddy Salsman officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist cemetery at Stanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Hayes was born in Chilton County on Oct. 4, 1912, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Lee Allison Burt. She was a homemaker. She died at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma. Survivors include three sons, Emmett Hayes, Picayune, Miss., Robert Hayes, Waldorn, Ark., William Hayes, Stanton; three daughters: Lilah Johnson, Selma, Eleanor Smith, Maplesville, Linda Atcheson, Stanton ;two brothers: J. W. Burt, Stanton, and Felix Burt, Maplesville; four sisters, Lillian Green, Maplesville, Ruth Gandy, Birmingham, Alberta Adams, Prattville, and Blossom Jones, Lipscomb, 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Hayes, was born on March 10, 1920, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late William Carter and the late Lessie G. Carter. She was a homemaker. She died on July 24, 2001, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. Born on Dec. 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James Frank Wright and the late Alvys Irene Wright. A sewing inspector, she died on March 5, 2001 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Hayes of Clanton; a son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Wanda Hayes of Jemison; a son and daughter-in-law, T. Headley of Clanton, two sons - Wayne Headley of Clanton and Joseph Headley of Centerpoint, two daughters - Gail Williams of Centerpoint and Joyce Raney of Hueytown. He is also survived by two step-sons, Lynn Easterling of Hoover and Ray Mell Easterling of Birmingham as well as one sister, Kathryn Jones of Sylacauga in addition to nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
