Graveside services for Lurline Gentry Glasscock, 84, of Clanton were Jan. 30, 1999, at Lime Springs Methodist cemetery with Rev. Cletice Ingram officiating. and Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Glasscock was born March 9, 1914, in Chilton County to the late John and Susie Mims Ellison. She was a homemaker. She died Jan. 28, 1999, at her residence. She is survived by three sons: Jureed (Wanda) Gentry of Clanton, Jerry Gentry of Pensacola, Fla., and Jimmy (Edith) Gentry of Jemison; a brother, Ottis Ellison of Clanton; a sister Louise Stevens of Clanton; a sister-in-law, Gertie Mae Ellison of Clanton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Nellie Beatrice Barnett Glasscock, 96, Jemison, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist cemetery in Jemison, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on July 27, 2001, from 5-8 p.m. Glasscock was born in Chilton County on July 14, 1905, the daughter of the late Annie Laurie Barnett. She was an elementary teacher. She died on July 26, 2001, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include one sister, Auline Jones, Marion; six sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

Glenn, Mrs. Balzie Thomas
Glenn, Mrs. Balzie Thomas, age 80, died on March 7 at her home in Verbena. She was a native of Chilton county. Survivors include two step-sons. Rev. Arvid Glenn, Anderson, Ind., Mr. Toxie Glenn, Sylacauga; one step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Williams, Verbena; three brothers, Mr. Leonard Thomas, Verbena, Mr. Flemmie Thomas, Verbena, Mr. L. E. Thomas, Verbena; one sister, Mrs. Wallace Tracy, Clanton. Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 9 at Martin Chapel with interment
held at Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery. The Rev. Sidney Gray was the officiating minister. Martin Funeral Home directing.

Glenn, James Edwin
April 11, 1941 - November 25, 1998
Funeral services for James Edwin Glenn, 57, of Clanton were Nov. 28, 1998, at Martin funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. T. Meank officiating. Burial was in Maple Springs Baptist cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Glenn was born April 11, 1941, in Chilton County to the late Gurvis Arnold and Thelma Lee Glenn. He worked as a meat cutter. He died Nov. 25, 1998, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Glenn of Clanton; and three brothers: Bobby Joe Davis of Pensacola, Fla., Jerry Donald David of Marion and Wilber Frank Glenn of Clanton.

Glenn, Joseph Calvin
October 20, 1892 - January 12, 1940
J. Calvin Glenn Died Suddenly at His Home Friday-J. Calvin Glenn, age 48, widely known resident of Cooper, died suddenly at his home last Friday morning, January 12. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Funeral services were held from the Chestnut Creek, Cooper, Church at 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning with Rev. J. D. Hughes conducting. Interment was in the nearby cemetery with Martin & Sons in charge. Mr. Glenn is survived by his widow and one son, Olber Glenn; father, J. T. Glenn; two brothers, Willie of Clanton Route 6; Jasper of Cooper; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Jones of Clanton Route 6; Mrs. Cora Deloney of Montgomery and Miss Frances Glenn of Montgomery.

Graveside services for Myrtle Jacks Glenn, 82, Phenix City, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2000, at Pineview Memory Gardens with Pastor David Johnson officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Active pallbearers will include Wayne Glenn, Scott Russell, Dewey Goodwin, John Baker, James Patterson, Jr. and Stephen Patterson. Glenn died on Thursday, June 29, 2000, at a Columbus, Ga., hospital. Survivors include three daughters, Wilma Patterson, Selma, Jeanette Corley, Birmingham, and Barbara Goodwin, Roanoke, Va.; one son Ira W. Glenn, Phenix City; four sisters, Bernice Davis, Dothan and Frances Lockhart, Johnnie Ruth Cummins, and Jean Johnson, all of Clanton;11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Goodgame, Edgar
October 16, 1895 - February 28, 1940
Last Thursday the Body of Edgar Goodgame was found in his parked auto near the watering trough in front of Clanton First Baptist Church. He had died of a heart attack shortly before he was found. Burial was at the Clanton City Cemetery. He is survived by his aged Mother, Mrs. Saphronia Goodgame, 3 Brothers, W.H., Robert, and Burns Goodgame, 2 Sisters, Mrs. Hugh Thompson, and Mrs. Dudley Thompson. Two Sons, Ed Goodgame, Jr., and John Frank Goodgame.

Mr. J. F. Goodgame died Mon. morning, an old citizen of Clanton, burial was in Clanton City Cemetery.

Goodgame, Roy
January 21, 1898 - March 15, 1925
Roy Goodgame found dead near Verbena, age about 30. He was found Sat. on railroad tract. His head was cut off and arms and legs were off. Burial Clanton Cemetery. He was Son of Late Frank Goodgame and a Brother to Burns Goodgame.

Gore, Lois Marie Collins

Services for Lois Marie Collins Gore, 71, of Clanton were July 31 at 11 a.m. at Victory Chapel Church with the Rev. Willie Littleton officiating. Burial was in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Gore died July 28 in Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Fay Pugh of Evergreen; two sons; Benny H. Gore of Clanton and Tullis H. Gore of Opelika; a sister Dorothy Ashcraft of Mableton and one granddaughter.

Joe P. Gore died at his home last Friday in Clanton of Bright's Disease. He was born in June 1869, and was 56, he was a member of Clanton First Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Kameryn Aleese Gore, 11 weeks, of Tuscaloosa, will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 at Magnolia Chapel South at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Richards officiating. Burial will be followed at Memory Hill Gardens. Gore is preceded in death by grandmother Debra Higginbotham; great-grandfather Charles Weidenback and great-grandmother, Donnie Davis. Survivors include parents, Angie and Chris Gore of Tuscaloosa; sister Alyssa Kate Gore of Tuscaloosa; grandparents Ronnie and Sybil Higginbotham of Hale County; Jim and Cheryle Gore of Birmingham and Ull Gore of Clanton; great-grandparents Mable Weidenback of Tuscaloosa; Cecil Davis of Clanton; Ruben and Lovey Gore of Clanton and Jim and Faye Lowery of Duncanville. Pallbearers will be Wayne Hilley of Tuscaloosa, Elliott Roberts of Tuscaloosa, Carey Beverly of Northport and Jay Pate of Tuscaloosa. Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors and nurses of Northport Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care and doctors and nurses of Oshner Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Funeral services for Mildred Louise Gore, 82 of Clanton, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Voyles and Rev. Thomas E. Hilyer officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Chapel cemetery in Clanton. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Born on Nov. 12, 1920 to Johnnie Easterling and Ethel Easterling, she died April 13, 2003 at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery. Survivors include her daughter Ruth Kate Minor of Clanton and sister Willodean Johnson of Clanton.

Dr. W. A. Gowan died at his home in Kosciusko, Miss. He was the father of Dr. J. E. Gawan of Clanton, the Widow of Dr. Gowan, age 82, is very ill with Pneumonia and is not expected to live.

William Gowan, age 21, Son of Dr. and Mrs. Amzi Gowan was killed Wednesday at Brewton. He was accidentally electrocuted while adjusting a sign on a pole. His Father is a Brother of Dr. J. E. Gowan of Clanton and his Mother is Mrs. Nell Mullins Gowan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Mullins.

Gragg, Vincent Jones, Sr.
March 06, 1807 - January 17, 1899
Death of Old Pioneer at age 93, Mr. V.J. Gragg, Sr., 6 miles East of Clanton. He and his parents were among the first settlers in this area. They came when Indian were all around. He was a strong Baptist, and a school teacher. His last wife, Emily, was a full Sister to John and Alfred Baker. He was buried at Cane Creek.

Graveside services for Hazel Estelle Hayes Graham, 76, Clanton, will be held at Antioch Methodist cemetery in Maplesville on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Gibson officiating. and Martin Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be at Martin Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, from 1-2 p.m. Graham was born on March 31, 1923, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Winnie Burleson Hayes. She was a homemaker. She died on Jan. 23, 2000, at her residence. Survivors include three daughters, Doris Hayes Walsh, Clanton, Sharon Sue Spicer, Chicago, Ill., Bonnie Sue Schmitz, Hickory, Ill.; one sister Pauline Spring, St. Cloud, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Grauel, John James Eugene 'Jack'

A memorial service for John James Eugene 'Jack' Grauel, 71, Randolph, will be held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at 1 p.m., with Speaker Henry Clay officiating. and Martin Funeral Home directing. The body will be taken to Abanks Crematory in Birmingham. Grauel was born on July 27, 1930, in Lauderdale, Miss., the son of the late William Benard Grauel and the alte Henrietta Trest Grauel. He died on Feb. 6, 2002, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include his wife, Doris Grauel, Randolph; two sons, Johnny Steve Grauel and Gerald E. Grauel, both of Randolph; one brother, Raymond Grauel, Hoover; one sister, Mary Merrill, Birmingham; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include one son, Cecil Kenneth Gravely III (Pam), Montgomery; one son, William Allen Gravely (Mary Ann), St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Tina Rene Atchison (Tommy), Clanton, and Angela Louise Smith (Joe), Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, Cory Gravely, Joshua Gravely, Jessica Gravely, Jon Atchison, Megan Atchison, Ryan Woodbeck; and one great granddaughter, Laura Madison Gravely.
