Mr. Davis died August 4 at Chilton Medical Center. Survivors include his daughter, U.L. Gore of Clanton; his grandson, Chris Gore of Tuscaloosa; and his great- grandchild, Alyssa Gore of Tuscaloosa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donnie Davis.

Widely Known Billingsley Resident Died Last Sunday-Funeral services for Dawson Davis, age 76, widely known resident of near Billingsley who passed away at his home Sunday Night at 11:45, were held last Tuesday morning at 11:00 o'clock from the Billingsley Methodist Church, J. Mell Martin & Sons were in charge of burial in the nearby cemetery. Survinving Mr. Davis are his widow, Mrs. Dawson Davis; two sons, C. L. of Union Springs; O. C., of Wilson Dam. Two daughters, Mrs. A. J. Alred of Montgomery; Mrs. W. C. Burkhalter of Billingsley. One brother, Prof. H. Davis of Clanton. Two sisters, Mrs. Maudie Browning of Plantersville and Mrs. Alice Roy of Prattville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Donnie Edwards Davis, 82, of Clanton, will be held tomorrow at Zion Ridge Church of God at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Davis was born on Oct. 17, 1917, to the late Oliver and Epsie Edwards. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Cecil H. Davis of Clanton; two daughters, Ull D. Gore of Clanton, Alyassa Gore of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Ollie Mae Cleckler of Clanton; and one grandson.

Davis, Earl Malcome

Services for Earl Malcome Davis, 89, of Huntsville, were held at the Valhalla Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Davis died Friday, October 8 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Fagan Davis; grandson-in-law, Greg Sneed, two sisters, Voncile Turner and Lorene Turner and his brother, Carl Davis. He is survived by his son E. Malcome Davis Jr. and wife Sheila Carroll Davis; daughter, Barbara Davis Glenn and hus-band Tommy Glenn; grandchildren, Stacy Ann Sneed, Brandon Earl Davis and wife Cheryl Fulton Davis; Brandie Annette del Valle and husband Ray del Valle, and Valerie Mischel Davis, all of Huntsville; his sister, Juanita Davis Scott of Piedmont, Al and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Era Louise Davis, 79, of Clanton were Oct. 17, 1998, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder C.E. Tucker officiating. Burial was in Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery, in Clanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Davis was born March 27, 1919, in Georgia to the late Julius and Ressie Culver. She was a homemaker. She died Oct. 16, 1998, at Vaughn Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. She is survived by a son, James C. Davis of Clanton; two daughters: Zeddie Andrews and Frances Jones, both of Clanton; a brother Ridgeway Culver of Donaldsonville, Ga; four sisters: Gerturde Miller of Donaldsonville, Ga., Brownie Dollar of Bainbridge, Ga., Audrey Emswiler of Lake City, Fla. and Faye Dennis of Caro, Ga.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Davis, Harvey Lee
Davis, Harvey Lee, age 44, died at local hospital Friday night shortly after being unavoidably hit by an automobile about 7 o'clock near the home on the highway a mile north of Jemison. Services ere held at Union Grove Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. P. Littleton. Martin directing. (Pallbearers were listed) The wife, Mrs. Lucile Robinson Davis, survives as well as one daughter, Wanda Faye; three sons -- David Ronald, Obie Earl and Gerald Wayne; two sisters -- -Mrs. Roberta Hinson of Clanton, and Mrs. Berta Smith of Verbena. Three brothers -- Madison and William R. Davis both of Clanton, Lonza of Verbena Rte. 2, and McAuthur of Washington, D. C. A native of Chilton county, Harvey Lee Davis was a son of the late William (Bill) Davis and Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Robinson Davis. He was married to Lucile Robinson thirteen years ago.

Funeral services for Joseph Roy Davis, 75, of Selma were Nov. 16, 1998, at Elkdale Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Anderson and Dr. Jerry Henry officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Baptist cemetery in Stanton with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Davis was born Feb. 13, 1923, in Alabama to the late Ernest H. and Mary Lou Davis. He worked as an insurance agent. He died Nov. 14, 1998, at his residence in Selma. He is survived by four sons: Larry Davis and Bill Davis, both of Clanton, Terry Davis of Changwon, South Korea, and John Davis of Fairburn, Ga.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received prior to service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Martin Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Davis died September 2 in Alabaster. Survivors include her son, James Edwin Davis of Mobile; daughter Helen Sue Bickford of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Joseph Davis of Clanton; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Davis.

Funeral services for Olene L. Davis, 69, Clanton, were held at Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 21, 2001, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Bonds, Rev. Evie Megginson, and Rev. Robert Griffin officiating. Burial followed at Providence Baptist Church No. 2 cemetery in Clanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Davis was born on Oct. 21, 1931, at Chilton County, the daughter of Estelle Johnson and the late Euell H. Johnson. She was a housekeeper. She died April 19, 2001, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. Survivors include her mother, Estelle Johnson, Clanton; and three sisters, Geraldene nelson and Mabel Jean Bates, both of Clanton, and Doris D. Giles, Greenville, S.C.

Funeral services for Ora Violet Davis, 95, Stanton, will be held on Friday, May 14, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Rev. Aubry Wallace directing. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery in Stanton, with Martin Funeral Home directing. Davis was born on Feb. 20, 1904, in Perry County, the daughter of the late John and Sally Carter. She was a homemaker. She died at Southland Nursing Home in Marion. Among the survivors are one daughter, Eloise Hicks, Birmingham; three sons, Raymond Davis, Maplesville, Carter Davis, Verbena, and Julius Davis, Stanton; two sisters, Betty Jo Gaddy, Selma, and Threase Davis, Stanton; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Arnold Davis; one daughter, Julia Davis; and four sons, Edmund Davis, Herman Davis, Clifford Davis, and John William Davis.

Davis, his Wife, Mrs. Velma DeVaughn Davis, 2 Sons, Bobby Joe and Jerry Donald, 3 Brothers, Albert, Ernest, and Chester, 3 Sisters, Mrs. Carl Gray, Mrs. Albert Ware, and Mrs. Eugene Powell.

Funeral services for William Durwood David, 56, Sterrett, will be held at Beulah Baptist Church of Sterrett on Feb. 22, 2002, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Mike Andrews and Rev. Greg Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the Beulah cemetery in Sterrett, with Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City directing. Visitation will be ehld at his residence starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002. The Body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers were Gene Brown, Billy Clackley, Matt Davis, Johnny Hollis, Heath Smith, David Smitherman, and Shane Spradlin. Davis was born on July 24, 1945. He died on Feb. 19, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Dsvis; two daughters, Carie Brasher, Leeds, Vicki Reeves, Sterrett; two sons, Jimmy Davis, Vandiver, Stephen Davis, Clanton; two brothers, Malcolm Davis, Tallahassee, Fla., Milton Davis, Clanton; half-brother, Larry Cleckler, Vandiver; three sisters, Melba Cleckler, Clanton, Myrle Smitherman, Clanton, Margie Smitherman, Clanton; four half-sisters, Pat Smith, Dunavant, Delores Ann, Barbara Gail, Dorothy Jo; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Davis, JR., and his parents.

Charles Thomas officiating and Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. day died at Vaughan-Chilton Medical Center in Clanton on December 23. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Hand Day of Clanton; a daughter Mrs. Rachel Shockley of Montgomery; three brothers, Robert W. Day and Francis Day, both of Birmingham, and Herschell Day of Wilton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

McDaniel, Delene W. Gray

Funeral services for Delene W. McDaniel, 81, of Clanton were Feb. 21, 1998, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.C. Mims officiating. Burial was in Bethsalem Baptist cemetery in Billingsley with Martin Funeral Home directing. Mrs. McDaniel was born June 27, 1916, in Chilton County to the late Charlie C. and Lillie Bell Pierce Gray. She was a housewife. She died Feb. 19, 1998, at Vaughan Chilton Medical Center in Clanton. She is survived by her sons, James Larry Watts of Marbury; a daughter, Brenda M. Mims of Clanton; a step-daughter, Eva Jacks of Verbena; two step-sons; Charles McDaniel and Joseph E. McDaniel, both of Clanton; a sister, Ruth Williams of Clanton; a brother, George Gray of Selma; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

McElvaine, Etta Headley

Mrs. Etta Ervin Wife of Floyd Ervin of Verbena died at a Montgomery Hospital Sunday night. Burial was in Clanton City Cemetery, before marriage she was Miss Etta Headley.

Greene, Ella Sue McFarland
August 26, 1915 - August 16, 2003
Services for Ella Sue Greene, 87 of Stanton, are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Watson and Rev. Danny Rasberry officiated. Visitation takes place Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. She will be buried at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. A former homemaker, Greene was 87 years old. She is survived by two sons, Dale Greene of Maplesville and Allen Dunne Greene of Prattville, as well as two daughters - Joan Fuqua of Maplesville and Judy Causey of Stanton. She is also survived by her sister, Lemma Pugh of Selma as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, and her granddaughter Alicia Sue Ella Fuqua.

Ella Sue Greene, 87, of Stanton, died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at a Centreville nursing home. Services are at 2 p.m. Friday, August 22, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Stanton, with the Rev. Scott Watson and the Rev. Danny Rasberry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Martin Funeral Home directing. Survivors include sons, Dale Greene of Maplesville and Allen Dunne Greene of Prattville; daughters, Judy Causey of Stanton and Joan Fuqua of Maplesville; sister, Lemma Pugh of Selma; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Greene and a granddaughter, Alicia Sue Ella Fuqua. Family visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, August 21, at Martin Funeral Home.
