VELMA BYRD
Velma Byrd of New Brockton, AL, formerly of Ozark, went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2010, at the home of her great-niece and husband, Lisea and Rick Piper. She was 97.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Enterprise Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Charles Rolen, Elder Eugene Conner and Elder Freddie Averett officiating. The family will be at 205 S. John Street in New Brockton.
Aunt Velma was born on March 29, 1913 to Weldon and Nellie Love (Crumpler) Byrd in Coffee County. She was married
to Alonzo Byrd who preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a sister and 2 brothers all of Enterprise.
Survivors include her niece, Nelda B. Livesay, Enterprise; numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews who always knew her as an honorable, kind, fun-loving, generous Aunt Velma. She enjoyed every minute of her 97 years here on earth.
IRENE CLICK
Irene Click, 89, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Enterprise, was called home by her heavenly father Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at home.
A Celebration of Life was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory. Officiating was Kenneth Mayo with the assistance of Darren Mayo.
Burial was at New Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Click was born Dec. 13, 1920 in Floyd County Ky., to Lee and Gladys Justice. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Braxton Click; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Kenneth Mayo of Baytown; grandsons, David Mayo of Baytown and Darren Mayo and his wife Trudie of Ardmore, Okla.; granddaughters, Aimee Erskins and her husband Ryan and Anndee Mayo, all of Baytown and Amanda Aguilar and her husband Salvador of Webster, Texas; great-grandchildren, Graceanne, Braxton, Max, and Mark Kenneth Mayo; one sister, Janet Green of Kentucky; one brother, John Clifford Justice of Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

EWELL D. MASSEY
Ewell D. Massey, 82, of Coffee Springs passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise with the Revs. Keith Martin and David Greer officiating.
Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 until 9 p.m.

Mr. Massey was born May 19, 1928 in Geneva, to the late Isaac Levi and Mary Etta Langford Massey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired from cattle and poultry farming. He was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Coffee Springs. He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruby J. Senn Massey of Coffee Springs; two sons, Curtis Ray Massey (Sonja) of Montgomery and Dennis Massey (Stormy) of Dothan; six grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph, Jessica, Monica and Samuel Massey and Jordan Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

HOWARD C. LASSETER
Funeral services for Howard C. Lasseter, 82, Mixson Cross Roads community, were at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 at the Old Tabernacle United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Jones and Dr. Rex Mixson officiating.

Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park, Godfrey, Ill. Local arrangements were handled by Searcy Funeral Home.
Mary Rallo died Monday, Aug. 4, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph John Rallo and a brother, the Rev. Willholland Williams.
Survivors include a daughter Terri Clowers of Godfrey; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Shirley Rallo of Enterprise; three grandchildren, Steven Yuhas, Chris Yuhas and Angel Courtney; five great-grandchildren, Michael Yuhas, Crystal Yuhas, Destiny Yuhas, Hobie and Rayce Yuhas; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Madline Rallo and their family of Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Cochran died Thursday, July 31, in Enterprise. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Cochran and her parents, Charlie Floyd and Julia Frances (Dawson) Abercombie.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and James Reynolds of Orlando, Fla., and Sara and Tommy Ramsey of Enterprise; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Carol Cochran of Edison, Ga.; on brother, Woodrow Abercombie of Chancellor; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for John A. Potts, 86, of Enterprise were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home with the Rev. Louie Reynolds officiating.

Mr. Potts died Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Medical Center Enterprise. He was preceded in death by a daughter Connie Gayle Welch, a sister, Odessa Kennedy, and a brother, Bonnie Potts.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. Potts of Enterprise; two daughters, Jo Karen Jones of Ozona, Texas, and Cynthia Free of Enterprise; a son, John Laurence Potts of Alexandria, La.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Garland Potts and Herbert Potts, both Amarillo, Texas.
B.C. HUNDLEY
Funeral services for B.C. Hundley, 87, of Enterprise were at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Home with the Rev. Hubert McWaters officiating.
Burial followed in New Brockton City cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Hundley died Tuesday, July 29, at the Enterprise Nursing Home. He was a mechanic at H&H; Equipment Company prior to his retirement. He was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ailene Hutto Hundley; his parents, Walter lee and Nancy Jane (Hornsby) Hundley; his brothers, Shelly, Cliff, Gene, Robert and Porter; and a sister, Vernice Hundley.
Survivors include his brother, Vernie Hundley of Enterprise; his sisters, Lorene Waters and Mary Brooks, both of Enterprise; four sisters-in-law, Sue Hundley Poss and Obie Ruth Hutto, both of Enterprise and Beatrice Hundley of Dothan, and Lizzie Ola Hundley of New Brockton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Sarah Hutto of Enterprise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
LARRY WILKERSON
Funeral services for Larry Wilkerson, 49, of Enterprise were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at Harris Temple Church of God In Christ, Elba.
Burial followed in Bethlehem Church Cemetery, Elba with Coleman Funeral Home of Elba directing.
Mr. Wilkerson died Wednesday, July 30, at home.
GWENN MILLER
Funeral services for Gwenn Miller, 70, of Enterprise, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at the chapel of Searcy Funeral Homes with the Rev. Glen Butler officiating.
Burial will full military honors were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Fort. Mitchell National cemetery in Seale with Searcy Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, July 30, at Long Beach, Calif. She was born in Bronx, N.Y. on July 17, 1933. She received her nursing degree from Bellevue Nursing School. She joined the Army National Guard and volunteered to serve our country as an Army nurse in Vietnam. She received her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Troy State University. She recently moved to Southern California to be with her daughter and new granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Miller of Enterprise; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mike Nolte, Long Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, Win and Lisa Miller of Enterprise; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Stephen and Mary Carol Miller of San Francisco, Calif.; granddaughter, Mikayla Nolte of Long Beach; a stepgrandson, Scott Miller of San Francisco; and several other relatives and dear friends.

Graveside services for Dewey Max Byrd, 73, of Enterprise, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003 at Meadowlawn cemetery with the Rev. Michael Turner officiating.
Burial followed with Searcy Funeral Home officiating.
Mr. Byrd died Friday, Aug. 1, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Issac and Cora Florence (Cain) and a sister, Mildred Hines.
Survivors include he wife, Kate Byrd of Enterprise; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Max and Belinda Byrd of Enterprise; a step and stepdaughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Parrish of Enterprise; a sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Oscar Stephens of Enterprise; a brother and sister-in-law, John Roscoe and Edna Bryd of Enterprise; a granddaughter, Kelsie Byrd;two stepgrandchildren, Kim (Jim) Watson and Ken (Delisa) Parrish; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Paige Watson and Kaitlyn Parrish; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Shipman died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

Mr. Barley died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003 in Enterprise. He was born Jan. 11, 1947 in Coffee County to Edward "Doc" Barley and the late Edith Brown Barley. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, the Noon Time Rotary Club as well as past board member of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, president of the Coffee County Cattleman's Association, and he was retired from GTE. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Travis Barley.
Survivors include his wife, LaMargaret Barley of Enterprise; two daughters, Michelle Barley Turner (Rob) of Edison, Ga. and Melissa Barley of Enterprise; his father, Edward "Doc" Barley; a sister, Sue B. Dell of Newton; a sister-in-law, Sue Barley Wingfield of Montgomery; a grandson, Michael Alexander Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
