Graveside services for Lois Ann James Haynes Glass, 66, were at 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Forestlawn Gardens. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary directed.
Mrs. Glass died Thursday at her residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Delois Haynes of Weaver and Linda Dean Cole of Anniston; two sons, Edward Lee Haynes Jr., of Jacksonville and Troy McCury Haynes of Talladega; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Cole, Christopher Haynes, Bethany Haynes, Aaron Haynes, Rahne Hicks, Haley Haynes, Alex Cole, and Alexia Cole; a great-grandson, Luke Cole; a sister, Carol James; three brothers, Wallace James, Ray James, and Larry James; friend, Edward Lee Haynes Sr., and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were members of the family and friends.
GOSS

William Ralph Goss, Sr., 61, died April 13 at his home.
Survivors include two sons, William Ralph “Bill” Goss, Jr., and Chad William Goss of Piedmont; six sisters, Ann Hill and Brenda Whorton, of Centre, Eva Barnwell and Janice Shell of Piedmont, Carol Martin of Jacksonville and Wanda Hobson, of Cedartown, Ga.; a brother, Alvin Goss of Piedmont; a grandson, Chase Goss and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goss enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and helping people. He served his country in the Vietnam war. His father William Hol Goss, his mother Marylee Hazel Smith Goss, and a brother Robert Goss preceded him in death.
PARKER

Services for Helen M. Parker, 83, of Owensboro, Ky., were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial was in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Parker died April 9 at her home.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, B.H. Parker; a son, Garland Parker of Owensboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dan Dunbar of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Chris Parker and his wife Jennifer and Kevin Parker and his wife Kellie; a great-grandson, Kaleb Parker; a sister, Flossie Parris of Jacksonville; a brother, Phil McDougal of Arab and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parker was born May 31, 1924 in Piedmont to the late Oscar and Neely McDaniel McDougal.
She retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a past matron and member of the Goel No. 104 Order of the Easter Star. She enjoyed crafts, especially making Christmas decorations and crocheting for others.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

HILL

Services for Mattie Lee Hill, 85, of Ohatchee were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Hayes officiated. Burial was in Vinson Cemetery. Austin Shuler. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary directed.
Mrs. Hill died April 17 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Winford and Martha Hill of Ohatchee; two grandchildren, Sharla Beth Hill and Marcus Brady Hill of Ohatchee; three sisters, Nellie Sexton of Jacksonville and Sara Stone and Margie Nelson of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tommy Hill, Jimmy Darrell Hill, Jimmy Dean Hill, Danny Hill, Christopher Hagler and Truman Pate.
Mrs. Hill was a lifelong native of Calhoun County. She was a Calhoun County School bus driver at Ohatchee for 22 years and was a cashier at McCord’s Grocery for eight years. She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church for more than 45 years, where she taught the junior Sunday school class. Her husband Gordon Hill and brother preceded her in death.
ISTRE

Graveside services for Wynell Skelton Istre, 75, were at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Rick Coffman officiated. K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center directec.
Mrs. Istre died April 20 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include a sister, Effie Lou Henderson of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Maxine Skelton of Jacksonville; five nieces, Kellie Whiteside, Sharon Luker, JoAnn Dunaway, Linda Jean Dickey and Connie Chilton; five nephews, Jay Curbow, Leroy Curbow, Benny Curbow, Frankie Skelton and Lee Gulledge and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Istre was a native and long time resident of Calhoun County. Her husband Joseph Istre, her brother, Homer Skelton and a sister, Lucille Gulledge preceded her in death.
McKERLEY

Memorial services for Sally Ann McKerley, 69, of Blue Mountain will be held at a later date. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will direct.
Mrs. McKerley died Tuesday, April 15, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin McKerley, Sr. of Blue Mountain; two daughters, Shelia Wilson and Patricia Butcher of Ohatchee; two sons Melvin Q. McKerley, Jr. and John Nix of Ohatchee; a brother, Thurman Nix, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Wendy Mink, Gary Wilson, Robert Scott; nine great grandchildren; three nieces and four nephews.
Mrs. McKerley was a member of Life Tabernacle Church and worked for several years at Blue Mountain Cotton Mill and Union Yarn Mill in Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and was preceded death by her son Howard Nix and a brother William Nix.
MEDDERS

A celebration of life for James Don Medders, 63, of LaGrange, Ga., formerly of Anniston, was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Webb and Dr. Paul Baxter officiated. Burial was in Jacksonville City Cemetery.
Mr. Medders died April 12 in LaGrange following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Genie Seals Medders of LaGrange; two sons Morgan L. Medders of Atlanta and Darin L. Medders of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law and her husband, Elaine and George Cross; two brothers-in-law, Meryl B. Seals and K. Paul Seals and his wife Jimmy Nell, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Medders was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Medders and Mary Evelyn Brown Medders. He was born Nov. 1, 1944 in Boaz. He retired from a distinguished career of 26 years as a high school band director in Georgia and Alabama. He was a graduate of Jacksonville State University where he was a member of the 1962-65 Marching Southerners and of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia professional music fraternity. He was also a graduate of Auburn University and Troy State University. He was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange.

LAMBERT

Services for Rodney Freeman Lambert, 63, were at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, in the chapel of K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel. Rev. Garry Brown officiated. Burial was in Nances Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Lambert died April 21 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Laverne Lambert, of Jacksonville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney and Manya Lambert Jr. of Jasper, Tenn., Raymond Lambert, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Patrick and Cheryl Lambert of Wellington; his mother, Geneva Lambert of Pell City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sylvia Staples, of Pell City and Deborah and Tony Champion of Atlanta; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were sons and grandsons.
Mr. Lambert was a Christian who attended Nances Creek Baptist Church for more than 20 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He worked at Fort McClellan as a firefighter for 22 years and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 42 F&AM.

MAHAN

Memorial services for Jimmy Ray Mahan, 63, of Anniston were at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26, in the chapel of Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Rev. Wayne Sims officiated.
Mr. Mahan died April 23 at Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include a stepson, Johnny Evans and his wife Rita of Piedmont; a stepdaughter, Tabatha Key and her husband, Richard “Big Rick” of Oxford; five grandchildren, Johnny Evans Jr., Jerry Evans, Shaunda Moss and her husband David, Susan Evans and Chasity Harrellson and her husband Shane; five great-grandchildren, Serena Moss, Sasha Evans, Clint Evans, Rachael Evans and Katherine Evans; a great-great-grandson; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Martha Mahan of Weaver; a special sister-in-law and caregiver, Shirley Noah Mahan; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mahan was retired from Bynum and Anniston Roofing and Siding. His wife Mary Mahan, his parents Jimbo and Velma Mahan, two brothers Herschel Mahan and J.V. Mahan and a sister Emma Lou Smith preceded him in death.

Memorial services for Gerald Powell, 81, of Destin, Fla., formerly of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston.
Mr. Powell died April 21 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Battles Powell of Destin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Billy Bridell of Birmingham and Jenny Pair of Birmingham; a son, Mike Powell of Jacksonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Frankie Powell of Centre; a sister, Willyne Mansfield of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Ragland, Brian and Mary Aileen Mackin, Jennifer Murray and her husband, William, Shane Forbus, Heather Forbus, Kirk Abernathy and his wife, Betsy, Mandy Whitson and her husband, Brian and five great-grandchildren, Clara Grace, John, and Rainey Murray, Meghan Forbus, and Holland Abernathy.
Mr. Powell was born on Sept. 23, 1926 in Centre to the late Dr. and Mrs. William H. Powell. He was a graduate of Cherokee County High School and the University of Alabama. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Services for Leola Prickett, 70, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Angel Grove Baptist Church. Eugene Burgess will officiate. Burial will be in Union Methodist Cemetery. K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center will direct.
Ms. Prickett died April 27 at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include two sisters, Novie P. Manor of Jacksonville and Mary Snelling of Ohatchee; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover and Myris Prickett Jr. of Ohatchee and Marshall and Margaret Prickett of Jacksonville; six nieces and 10 nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School class.
Ms. Prickett was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Angel Grove Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School, a beautician and a caregiver. Her parents Grover C. and Beulah Prickett and a brother Sargent Prickett preceded her in death.
