GEORGE D. HANNAH
LINCOLN — Graveside service for George D. (Duck) Hannah, 46, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery
in Sylacauga with the Rev. Jim Arnold officiating.
Mr. Hannah died Aug. 11 at his residence. He was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 466 in Dothan. He was retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary F. Hannah of Lincoln; daughter, Carrie Baker of Dothan; sons, Brian Hannah and Davis Hannah of Dothan; stepson, Jay Turner of Alexander City; his parents, Jack and Nan Hannah of Lincoln; sister, Margaret Yates of Talladega; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Butch Yates, Dennis Baker, David Yates, Wayne Cross, Brian Hannah, Jay Turner and Carthell Bullock.
All members of Local No. 443 IBEW Montgomery and Doug Fincher, David Challenger and Larry Wooten will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Usrey Funeral Home will direct the service.
JAMES VERNON HANNAH
RAGLAND — Funeral service for James Vernon Hannah, 68, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home chapel in Pell City with the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery
in Lincoln.
Mr. Hannah died Aug. 9 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of St. Clair County, was an active member of Masonic Lodge Chapter No. 150 and was a Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Hannah.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Hannah of Ragland; sisters, Betty Lou Peavy of Pell City, Judy Ann Phillips of Ragland and Carolyn Sue Lawless of Southside; brothers, Robert Junior Hannah and Charles Virgil Hannah of Ragland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Members of the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers.
Usrey-Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the service.
SUE OWEN HOLCOMBE
COLUMBIANA — Funeral service for Sue Owen Holcombe, 76, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Joe Stone officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Holcombe died Aug. 9 at her residence. She was a native of Clay County, lived in Talladega County until 1996 and then moved to Columbiana. She was a charter member of Hepzibah Baptist Church in Talladega and was an active participant of Antioch Baptist Church in Columbiana. She was a graduate of Talladega High School and Jacksonville State University. She was a member of Kappa Gamma Sorority and was a nationally certified teacher of the deaf. She retired with 30 years of service teaching, with 28 years at Alabama School for the Deaf.
She is survived by daughters, Lynn Horton of Columbiana and Peggy Peeples of Sylacauga; sons, Carlton Holcombe of Summerville, S.C., and Kyle Holcombe of Naples, Fla.; sister, Melson Long of Talladega; brother, Ingram Owen of Columbiana; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Horton, Clint Horton, Shawn Holcombe, Daniel Holcombe, Wesley Holcombe, Myles Adair, Michael Adair and Frank Owen.
Honorary pallbearer will be Frank Horton.
Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.

ANNISTON — Funeral service for David Rankin, 39, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Funeral Service with the Rev. Mario McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Rankin died Aug. 6.
He is survived by his wife, Cherrie Rankin of Anniston; sister, Jessica Taylor of Jacksonville; brother, Tony Crockett of Anniston; half brothers, Derrick Crockett of Taylor, Ark., and Kawaski Crockett of Houston, Texas; stepsister, Peggy Hawthorne of Alexandria, Va.; and stepbrothers, Michael Radford of Taylor, Ark., Alvin Radford of Springhill, La., Calvin Radford of Ashdown, Ark., and James Radford of Springhill, La.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Stephens died Aug. 10.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Stephens Thompson of Sylacauga, Susan Stephens Thompson of Birmingham and Carol Stephens Forsyth of Helena; sons, Dave Ray Stephens of Forsyth, Ga., and James Michael Stephens of Sylacauga; sister, Sally Peltier of Woodberry, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

RIVERSIDE — Funeral service for Mary Lou Thomas, 62, formerly of Center Point, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home chapel in Trussville with the Rev. Wayne Polk officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Thomas died Aug. 9. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her father, John Richard Heilman, and brother, John Richard (Rick) Heilman Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William Morris Thomas of Riverside; daughters, Deborah Sue Sherbet and Beth Thomas Knight of Pell City; son, William Morris Thomas Jr. of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; her mother, Erin K. Heilman of Center Point; sister, Wanda Gail Burke of Quitman; and seven grandchildren.

VIOLA COLEMAN COCHRAN
SYLACAUGA — Funeral service for Viola Coleman Cochran, 75, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North chapel with the Rev. Tommy Reaves and the Rev. Harold Bannister officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Cochran died Aug. 12 at Coosa Valley BMC. She was a native of Childersburg and was a member of Shelvin Rock Baptist Church.
She is survived by husband, William A. Cochran of Sylacauga; daughter, Sandra Cochran Riley of Sylacauga; son, Tommy Cochran of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Ruth Butts of Childersburg; brother, J.W. Coleman of Sylacauga; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Howard Cochran, Ben Riley, Bill Riley, Marc Butts, Tony Butts and Joe Butts.

HOBERT COOK
SYLACAUGA — Graveside service for Hobert Cook, 80, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Marble City Cemetery
in Sylacauga with the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating.
Mr. Cook died Aug. 10. He was a radio operator on a B-29 Super Fortress and was stationed on Tinian in the Pacific Theater during World War II. During the
Korean War, he was a member of a National Guard unit that was called to active duty. He was a first lieutenant and served in Anti Aircraft Artillery on Okinawa. He was employed by First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Sylacauga, now known as First Federal of the South, for 27 years and was senior vice president and loan officer. He served 20 years on the association's board of directors and was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Cook of Sylacauga; son, Larry Cook of Alabaster; sister, Helen H. Dobson of Vestavia Hills; and niece, Jo Ann Wood of Tuscaloosa.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
