ANNISTON — Funeral services for Charles R. Matheny, 82, will be at Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel with The Rev. Hal Noble and The Rev. Woodfin Grove officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Matheny died August 30, 2008 at NHC. Mr. Matheny was in the US Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police in Philadelphia, Pa., and retired from the Philadelphia Police Department. He was lovingly known by his 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as Pop-Pop. He was preceded in death by a son Charles R. TERRY
ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mr. Randall "Randy" Terry, 46, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Dr. Randy Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Mr. Terry died Saturday in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Karen Terry; a daughter, Emily Terry; his parents, Roscoe and Joyce Terry of Anniston; a brother, Mike Terry of Saraland; and a nephew, Scott Terry. Mr. Terry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Maudie Sparks and James and Florence Terry.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Terry was a native and life long resident of Anniston and employed at JSU Department of Information Technology. He was a graduate of Wellborn High School and JSU and a member of West Park Heights Baptist Church. ANNISTON — Private memorial services for Mrs. Dorothy L. Tyler, 70, were held Sunday at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory. Mrs. Tyler died Sunday, August 31 at NEARMC. Mrs. Tyler is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald Tyler of Iron City; two brothers, Earl Jenkins and wife Gloria of White Plains and Robert Jenkins and wife Marie of Michigan; two special Aunts, Dorothy Renfroe and Lorene Renfroe and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Naomi and Bill Jenkins and her sister Audrey Farmer. Mrs. Tyler was a native of Alabama, grew up in Michigan and retired to Anniston. Dorothy enjoyed golfing at Pine Hill Country Club, reading, jigsaw puzzles and caring for her dogs. She also enjoyed time with her family and cooking. She will best be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of Donald and family.

RAINBOW CITY — A Celebration of Life for Richard Eugene (Gene) Beecham, 73, will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel, Anniston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Mr. Beecham died Sunday, August 31, 2008, after a difficult and very brave 20 month struggle with Multiple Myeloma. Love and support from close family and friends during the period of his illness has been greatly appreciated. Mr. Beecham is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Carolyn Johnson Beecham of Rainbow City; two sons, Michael Beecham of Atlanta, Ga.; and Stace Beecham and his wife, Terri of Southside; grandchildren; Braden and Macie Beecham; a brother; Gerald Beecham and his wife; JoAnn of Talladega; and numerous special in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Mildred McCartney, D.G. and Royce Small, Luther and Barbara Riddle, Harold and Geneva Aderholt, Britt Floyd, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Slate and members of the Bertie Hope Sunday School Class and members of White Springs Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert McMurry, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Turner Gunter. A U.S. Army veteran and a former resident of Calhoun County. Mr. Beecham was Owner and President of Gadsden Business College from 1975-1995. He was a longtime member of White Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Grady and Cleo Bagley Beecham.

Survivors include her husband, Louis "Smiley" Laws, daughter, Melissa A Champion, sons; Dennis C. Mrs. Laws was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Calhoun County for the past 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Melvina Phillips and a brother, Emmett Phillips.
