OXFORD — Funeral services for Warren Dale Harris age 60 of Oxford, Ala. will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Reaves and the Rev. Chuck Canterbury officiating. Mr. Harris will lie in state one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mr. Harris died on Sunday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Judy O. Harris; mother, Evelyn Harris; son, Bradley W. Harris and his wife, Teresa; daughter, Leslie P. Harris; grandchildren, Carson Harris and Reagan Payne; sisters, Lara Waits and her husband, Chris, Mary Jo O'Dell and her husband, Mike, Brenda Carling and her husband, Bill, brother-in-law, Frankie O'Dell and his wife, Martha.
Pallbearers will be Perry Gardner, Craig Washko, Doug Wooten, Jimmy Hawkins, Clifford Crumley and Johnny Scott. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father, Billie Joe Harris and his brother, Larry Wayne Harris. Mr. Harris was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Encouragers Sunday School Class. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot after 32 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mr. Harris was a avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was a life long native of Oxford, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, brother and son. HOLLINGSWORTH
WEAVER — Funeral services for Jeff Hollingsworth, 50, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Denkins officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Hollingsworth died Monday at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his daughters, Brandi (Josh) Johnson, of Alexandria and Kari Hollingsworth of Weaver; one granddaughter, Kalee Johnson; his mother, Marie Hollingsworth; three sisters, Laura Vaughn (Fred), of Weaver, Jo Lynne (Tim) Phillips, of Jacksonville and Leigh Lloyd, of Weaver; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Hollingsworth.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Barnett, Roy Roberts, Brent Gilmore, Garry Thompson, Fred Vaughn and Tim Phillips. HOUSCH
SUMMERVILLE, Ga. — Mr. Billy Justice Housch, 75, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008, in Emory University Hospital. His parents, Milton and Senada Housch, preceded him in death. Mr. Housch was born in Chattooga County (Summerville), Ga. on August 27, 1932 and was a life long resident of the county. He graduated from Summerville High School (class of 1949), faithfully served in the United States Army, and then worked for Riegel Textile Company, where he retired after 42 years of service. During his time at Riegel, he worked on the farm, planted trees, and then quickly moved in the office area working in the computer (data processing) department. Mr. Housch was a life long member of Trion United Methodist Church, where he faithfully served in a variety of ministry areas and was a member of the Men's Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wyndoleen Elizabeth (Keith) Housch, of Summerville, Ga.; son, Andy Housch and wife, Tracy, of Sylacauga; daughter, Sandy Mallicoat and husband, Jimmy, of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Justin Mallicoat, Kristen Housch, Keri Mallicoat, and Stephanie Housch; brother, Bob Housch, of Summerville, Ga.; sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Donald, of Ila, Ga., and Martha Gilmer and husband, Emory (Bo), of Summerville, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. EST, from the Trion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Art Graves, The Rev. David Autry, and Rob Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mr. Housch will lie in state Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. EST. Mr. Housch will also lie in state at the Trion United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 17, 2008, from 1-2 p.m. EST.
Pallbearers will be Barry Dunaway, David Snow, Bobby Hannah, Mike Kingsmore, Mike Stover, David Messer, Lee Copeland, Greg Luke, and Randy Odonell. These are asked to assemble at the church by 12:30 EST on Sunday. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Ingle, Hayward Hunter, Bill Worsham, Allen Green, Ozella Freeman, Ruth Grimes, Kathy Grimes, Joe Hood, Lamar Turner, Joe Cook, 1949 Class of Chattooga High School, Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class, and the Methodist Men's Club.

WRENS, Ga. — Mrs. Beverly Law Palmer, 57, the beloved wife of 37 years to Mickey Ray Palmer, and the daughter of the late Calvin Hardin Law and her mother Myrtis Hughelene Law, entered into rest Monday August 18, 2008, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Wrens Baptist Church, with Dr. Julian West and the Rev. Danny Hedgepeth and Julia Wells officiating. Family will receive friends this evening, August 20, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Palmer was a member of Wrens Baptist Church. Mrs. Palmer was a retired teacher of 35 years where she taught 30 years at Wrens Elementary and 5 years at Wrens Middle School.
Survivors include her husband, Mickey Palmer; her children, Michael Kevin Palmer, Kristina Elizabeth Palmer and Cory Randall Palmer; her mother, Myrtis Hughelene Law; three brothers, Don Law, Gerry Law and Randy Law. Mrs. Palmer has four grandchildren. Mrs. Palmer was preceded in by her father, Calvin Hardin Law.
Pallbearers will be Benji Law, Greg Law, Chris Law, Brian Law, Adam Howard, Thomas Palmer, George Samples, Billy Lewis, Jimmy Fleming and William Wren. Honorary pallbearers will be Jefferson County Teachers.
