Funeral for Lonnie Theo Maner, who died Monday, December 15, 1997, at his residence, was held Wednesday, December 17. The 2 p.m. was held at Parkway Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Standridge and Marvin Waugh officiating.
Burial was in the Caddo Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Maner was born in Lawrence County to the late William and Mary Roper Maner. He was a lifelong member of Caddo Church and a home farmer. He was preceded in death by his son, Rayburn Maner.
Survivors include his wife, Lettie L. Gibson Maner; a sister, Ruth Chenault of Decatur; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.T. Lowrey, Loyd Standridge, Lewis Washburn, Hayward Shelton, Jimmy Standridge and Robert Kitchens.

Funeral for Maye Riggs Fretwell was held Monday, December 22, 11 a.m., at Old Town Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. R.C. Borden and Ray McElhaney officiating.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Fretwell died Saturday, December 20, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Lawrence County to John D. and Irena Cameron Riggs. Mrs. Fretwell was retired from Vaughn Gas Co. where she was a bookkeeper. She recently worked at Wal-Mart. Mrs. Fretwell was a member of Old Town Creek Baptist Church and was the widow of Roy Fretwell.
Survivors include one daughter, Billie Ruth McKinnon of Moulton; four sisters, Nell Witt and Faye Hicks, both of Mount Hope, Carolee Riggs of Moulton and Jeanette Lovett of Town Creek; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Phillip Fretwell, Kenneth Counts, Rodger Counts, Jeron Witt, Dexter Lovett and Johnny L. Riggs.

Luvene Speake Way died Friday, December 19, 1997, at National Healthcare in Moulton.
The funeral was held Monday, December 22, 2 p.m., at Valley Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
Burial was in the Speake Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Way was born in Lawrence County to Albert and Carrie Speake. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Way is the widow of A.L. "Red" Way.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Waters of Trinity and Carolyn Pope of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Carrie Mae Pullen of Town Creek; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Waters, Allan Pope, Stephen Pope, Charles Pullen, Albert Pullen and Truitt Speake.
Floyd Refert Cottingham

Funeral for Floyd Refert Cottingham, who died Thursday, December 18, 1997, following a car accident, was held Sunday, December 21. The 2 p.m. service was held at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Grey officiating.
Burial was in the Flat Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Cottingham was born in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Cristy Wilkerson Cottingham; one son, Justin Cottingham of Trinity; one daughter, Torrey Nichole Cottingham of Trinity; his parents, Floyd W. and Nadine Sullivan Cottingham of Trinity; one brother, Steve Cottingham of Trinity; two sisters, Judy Ferguson of Madison and Serecia Rutherford of Moulton; and his grandmother, Mammie Sullivan of Trinity.
Pallbearers were Ricky Cottingham, Rusty Cottingham, Bobby Kelso, Jason Wiley, Perry Rutherford and Tommy Warren.

The baby died Wednesday, December 17, 1997, at Huntsville Hospital, a day after he was born in Decatur General Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Brenda Echols of Moulton; one brother, Kevin Schultz of Moulton; two sisters, Brianca Echols and Cadeidre Echols, both of Moulton; his grandparents, James and Almetia Echols of Moulton, Willodean Lee of Moulton and Edward Webb of Canton, Ohio; and his great-grandmother, Jemima Lee of Moulton.
Anthony "Todd" Parker

Todd died Thursday, December 18, 1997, following an automobile accident.
He was born in Lawrence County and was a member of First Apostolic Church. Todd was a home Schooled student. He was engaged to Misty Heaps of Town Creek.
Survivors include his father, Hillard Parker of Moulton; mother, Wanda Starks of Hillsboro; stepfather, Glenn Starks of Hillsboro; stepmother, Trudy Bradford of Moulton; two brothers, Wendell Parker of Trinity and Curtis Parker of Decatur; grandparents, Jennie Parker of Town Creek and Hershel and Mildred Smith of Trinity.
Pallbearers were Derrick Parrish, Darrin Parrish, Bradley Smith, Andy Sledge, Brandon Hood and Jonathan Sparks.

He was born in Lawrence County to Sam and Emma Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Gray Hamilton; two sons, Earskin Rick Hamilton and Billy Hamilton, both of Decatur; two daughters, Olene Sterling of Moulton and Donna Hensley of Danville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one stepgrandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
