Burial was in the church cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Terry died Wednesday, June 25, 1997, in Decatur.

He was born in Lawrence County and worked for Decatur City Schools.

Survivors include a son, Stetson Allen Terry of Moulton; a daughter, Jessica Ann Terry of Moulton; his parents, Marion and Mary Terry of Courtland; a brother, Randy Marion Terry of Moulton; three sisters, Shelia K. Sivley and Angelia Delene White of Moulton and Renita Joyce Clemment of Courtland; and grandmother, Opal Terry of Moulton.

Pallbearers were Thomas Ray, Scotty Ray, Timmy Hammond, Randall King, Stacy Wilson and Brandon Gardner.

Tracie Pauline Killen Ghrigsby

92, Lexington

Tracie Ghrigsby died Thursday, June 12, 1997, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home after an extended illness.

The funeral was held Saturday, June 14, at Loretto Memorial Chapel with James E. Smith officiating.

Burial was in Richardson Chapel.

She was a native of Killen and a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include her daughters, Elba Christine Wiley of Sheffield, Elsie Littrell, Sarah Ileen Johns, both of Lexington; sons, Marvin Dalton Ghrigsby, Russellville, Earl Ghrigsby, Indiana; sister, Mary Fielder Wilson, Florence; 40 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Margie Kitchens Henson

73, former bookkeeper, Georgia

Margie Kitchens Henson of Augusta, Ga., died Sunday, June 29, 1997, at University Hospital.

The funeral was held Wednesday, July 2, 3 p.m., at Glenn Hills Baptist Church in Augusta with the Rev. John Yarbrough officiating.

Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park with Poteet Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Henson was born in Glascock County, Ga. She was a retired bookkeeper for J. B. Whites. Mrs. Henson was a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church, where she was a faithful worker in the Sunday school class. She had lived in Augusta for 50 years.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry A. Henson; a son, Jack E. Chalker of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Joy Watkins of Augusta; one sister, Olga Corley of Hephzibah, Ga.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Harold Plunkett, Craig Plunkett, Tommy Plunkett, Ronnie Mooney, David Shelton, Randy Wishard, Paul Pinkston, Paul Ishee, Jesse Moon and Russell Watkins.

R. C. Saint

76, retired plumber, Moulton

Funeral for R. C. Saint was held Saturday, July 5, 2 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home wit the Rev. Clyde Goodlett and Dr. Darryl Wood officiating.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Saint died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at Helen Keller Hospital.

He was born in Lawrence County to Sol and Fannie Saint. Mr Saint was a member of Moulton Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Saint; two sons, Renay Saint and Farrell Saint, both of Moulton; a daughter, Vickie Rouse of Moulton; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Larry Hurst, Hillard Parker, Larry Peck, Jim Brinkman, Everett Tanksley and Steve McLemore.

Minnie Dale Free

101, homemaker, Trinity

Funeral for Minnie Dale Free was held Tuesday, July 8, 2 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with Bruce White and Curtis Sampley officiating.

Burial was in the Landersville Church of Christ Cemetery in Lawrence County.

Mrs. Free died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at Decatur General Hospital.

She was born in Lawrence County to Thomas Jefferson and Lucy Norwood Burch. She was the widow of John Harvey Free.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Free of Trinity and James Free of Lake City, Fla.; Three daughters, Dorothy Gentry of Hartford, Ky., Doris Fisher of Huntsville and Sarah Aldridge of Moulton; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Grandchildren were the pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Childhaven Children's Home.

Mable Peoples

Funeral for Mable Joyce Peoples, who died Friday, July 4, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center, was held Sunday, July 6. The 2 p.m. service was held at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial was in the Landersville Cemetery.

She was born in Lawrence County.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon "Rod" Peoples; two sons, Ricky Peoples and Joel Peoples, both of Moulton; six daughters, Joyce Keenum, Kathy Whitlock, Margie Warren, Vickie Glover, Tressie Keenum and Becky Wimms, all of Moulton; her parents, Alfred and Flora Chaney of Russellville; three brothers, Ray Chaney, Grady Chaney and J. R. Chaney, all of Russellville; one sister, Gertrude Borden of Russellville; and 20 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steven Chaney, Joey Whitlock, Eddie Chaney, David Naylor, Jason Whitfield and Buck House.

James Porter

59, truck driver/heavy machine operator, Trinity

A graveside service was held for James Cay Porter on Monday, July 7, at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Maynard officiating and Ridout's-Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Porter died Friday, July 4, 1997, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Michigan to James and Anthadell Porter.

He is survived by one son, Jason A. Porter of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; one daughter, Erica Porter of Flat Rock, Mich.; and his mother, who lives in Trinity.

William Sibley Day

82, retired businessman, Moulton

William S. Day, who was manager of the former First Federal Savings and Loan in Moulton and former owner of Bill Day Chevrolet, Moulton, died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at National Healthcare Center, Moulton. Mr. Day was a former sales manager at Hicks Chevrolet in Decatur.

He was born in Decatur and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr Day was a member of First United Methodist Church in Moulton.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, July 9, 4:30 p.m., in Moulton Memory Gardens with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Bragg Day; a daughter, Virginia Day Baker of Gadsden; a brother, Charles Henry Day, M.D., of Batesville, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Public Library, 401 College Street, Moulton, AL 35650.

Gene Autry Terry

59, Wolverine machinist retiree, Moulton

Funeral for Gene Autry Terry was held Tuesday, July 15, 2 p.m., at Grace Chapel Church with the Revs. Jimmy Stewart and Robert Sanderson officiating.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Terry died Sunday, July 13, 1997, at his residence.

He was born in Lawrence County to the late Amos Judy and Essie Terry. Mr Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cartee Terry. He was a member of Grace Chapel Church.

Survivors include one son, Scottie Gene Terry of Moulton; one daughter, Leshane Terry Jones of Town Creek; one brother, M. Wade Terry of Moulton; three sisters, Erdean Cartee, Marvelene Alexander and Janice Bradford, all of Moulton; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Archie Terry, Kelly Terry, Amos Cartee, Jeff Terry, Brennon Alexander, Junior Bradford and Lamar Sparkman.

Floyd Henderson

85, Moulton

Funeral for Floyd Henderson, who died Friday, July 11, 1997, at National Healthcare Center in Moulton, was to be at Music Funeral Home in Waycross, Ga.

Lawrence Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Helen Lorene Terry

Funeral service for Helen Lorene Terry was Wednesday, July 16, 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Revs. Darrell Wood and Bob Sims officiating.

Mrs. Terry died Monday, July 14, 1997, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham.

She was born in Lawrence County to Ben and Julie Lipscomb. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, F. D. Terry; two sons, Michael F. Terry and Benjie Terry, both of Moulton; two daughters, Marketta Terry and Jennifer Terry, both of Hatton; her mother, Julie Lipscomb of Hatton; two sisters, Laverne Landsdell and Allene Dutton, both of Hatton and three granddaughters.

Pallbearers were John Terry, Shane Harrison, Ashley Oliver, Jerald Oliver, Ronnie Blankenship and Steven Shinall.
