Tina Ann Jay Edge, 37, of Uriah died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007 at her home.
Edge was a native and lifelong resident of Uriah and was a member of the Rocky Hill Baptist Church. She was a nurse.
She is preceded in death by three children, T.J. Morace, Brittany Morace and Tristan Morace.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Edge; her parents, Stinson and Barbara Jay of Uriah; three brothers, Vince (Carmen) Jay, Malcolm (Sherry) Jay and John Jay; and one sister, Vivian (Troy) Hahn.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at the Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Bohannon and Rev. Pete Dunn officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Clyde Jackson “Toots” Grace
Johnson Funeral Home, Monroeville
Clyde Jackson “Toots” Grace, 76, of Monroeville died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 in a local nursing facility.
Grace was a native of Conecuh County but had lived in Monroeville most of his life.
Survivors include one foster sister, Lois Pugh of Montgomery.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Q.T. Curtis officiating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Ira Rayford Johnson
Monroe Chapel, Monroeville
Ira Rayford Johnson, 83, of Frisco City died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 in Mobile.
Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Monroe County and a member of the Frisco City Holiness Church. He served in the CC Camps in 1937.
Survivors include three sons, Ira Raymond Johnson of Frisco City, Jerry Ronnie Johnson of Excel and Donald Johnson of Pine Orchard; two brothers, Dewey Johnson of Oplusa, La. and Kenny Roy Johnson of Fountain; two sisters, Wilma Jones of Saraland and Mamie Godwin of Excel; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel with Rev. Billy House officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Wild Fork.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Frisco City Holiness Church.
Calvin B. Knight
Jones Unity Funeral Home, Monroeville
Calvin B. Knight, 59, of Warranty, Fla. died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007 at Pensacola Navy Hospital.
Knight was a native of Monroeville and had lived in Monroe County for many years. He was a graduate of Union High School of Monroeville. He served in the Army with an honorable discharge. He did landscaping and was a member of Hopewell CME Church in Monroeville.
Survivors include one son, Kelvin Lorenza Knight of Pike Road; one daughter, Lilia Makeba Knight of Montgomery; four brothers, Kenneth Knight of Monroeville, Leonard Knight of Montclair, N.J., Ellis Knight of Newark, N.J. and Grady Knight of Perth Amboy, N.J.; five sisters, Marion Pearsall, Albertha Robinson and Florence Abney, all of Pensacola, Fla., Helen Andrews of Silver Spring, M.D. and Mary Johnson of Monroeville; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 11 at 2:30 p.m. at Hopewell CME Church with Rev. J.O. Malone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Charles D. McDonald

Charles D. McDonald, 86, of Atmore died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 in Bay Minette.
McDonald was a native of Franklin and had resided in Atmore for the past 40 years. He was a veteran of WWII and was a treatment operator for Swift Lumber Co. for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Charles R. (Sheila) McDonald of Perdido Beach and Joseph (Patsy) McDonald of Theodore; three stepsons, R. Dwain (Shelby) Scruggs, J. Ronald (Ann) Scruggs and Bobby D. Scruggs, all of Atmore; one stepdaughter, Theresa C. (J.R.) Watson of Satsuma; 13 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel with Rev. Billy Hodges officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery in Frisco City.

Johnny Montgomery, 61, of Beatrice died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2007.
Montgomery was employed with Nettles Logging Company of Beatrice.

John Jacob Shiver Jr.
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, Fla.
John Jacob Shiver Jr., 85, of Pensacola, Fla. died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007.
Shiver was a native of Frisco City and had resided in Pensacola for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a flight engineer. He was a custom homebuilder for over 30 years and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret McKenzie Shiver.
Survivors include two sons, Charles T. Shiver of Pensacola and John D. (Evette) Shiver of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Mavis Hardy of Birmingham; one brother, Jim Shiver of Albuquerque, N.M.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. at Bayview Memorial Park with Rev. Bob Hardy officiating.

Stacey was a native and lifelong resident of Monroeville
Survivors include her son, Jeremy Tate Daniels of Monroeville; one daughter, Tara Michelle Craft of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother, Glenn Stacey Jr. of Monroeville; one sister, Glenda Stacey Parrish of Leesburg, Ga. and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Monroeville with Rev. Mike Leys officiating.

Austin Taylor, 87, of Atmore died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at his home.
Taylor was born in Booneville. He was a retired farmer and was an Army WWII veteran.
He is preceded in death by a son, Albert Austin Taylor; a grandson and a great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Callie Johnson Taylor of Atmore; three sons, Teak (Bobbie) Taylor of Atmore, Kenneth (Patsy) Taylor of Brewton and Rod (Joann) Taylor of Uriah; one daughter, Sheila (Steve) Pugh of Oak Grove, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Taylor of Atmore; one brother, James Taylor of Brewton; one sister, Margene Allen of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Ernest Johnson of Brewton; one sister-in-law, Ethel Seals of Milton, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Dukes officiating. Burial followed in McCullough Cemetery.
Thelma Johnson

Thelma Johnson, 66, of Monroeville died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at Monroe County Hospital.
Johnson was a native of Franklin and a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Monroeville where she served on the usher board until her health failed.
Survivors include three sons, Charlie Johnson and Willie James Johnson, both of Monroeville and Bryan Keith Johnson of Birmingham; five daughters, Ella Mae Millender of Houston, Texas, Gracie M. Johnson, Tonya Johnson, Willie Mae Johnson and Diana Johnson, all of Monroeville; four brothers, George McArthur and Fred McArthur, both of Mobile, Memph McArthur and John C. McArthur, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven sisters, Ola Mae Abney, Bertha Ann Williams, Bernice Brown, all of Monroeville, Voncile Mallory of Bronx, N.Y., Francis King of Pensacola, Fla., Louise Cole of Cameron, La. and Pearlie Mae Brown of Akron, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 11 at noon at Bethel Baptist Church in Monroeville with Rev. Ywell Cunningham, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
James Travis Jr.
Jones Unity Funeral Home, Monroeville
James Travis Jr., 95, died July 31, 2007.
Travis was born in Beatrice. He was a member of Sylvester Baptist Church, later joined Southern Baptist Church and participated in the Willing Workers Club until his health failed. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war he worked in the construction industry and became a member of Local #265 in 1936. He also served as the union’s elected field representative from 1957 until he retired in 1977.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Levonngh.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Barker; and a sister-in-law, Voncile Travis.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Sylvester Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Bledsole officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
