Tlithia Edna Danley Hill Monroe

Mrs. Tlithia Edna Danley Hill Monroe, 78, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at a local hospital.

She was born June 13, 1921 in the McCullough community to the late Clarence and Lula Mae Smith Danley. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by two husbands, Joseph C. Hill and John C. Monroe; two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three sons, James (Bo) Monroe of Atmore, Charles C. Hill of Jacksonville, N.C. and Harvey E. Hill of Atmore; two daughters, Martha P. Johnson of Robertsdale and Margaret Davis of Pace; one half-sister, 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Chuck Willis, Tony Hadley, Tim Runnell, Bruce Yancey, Jamie Lucuson and Jason Hill. Alternates were Randy Paul and David Yaden.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Stokes officiating. Internment was in the church cemetery. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Dorothy Smith Brown

Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Smith Brown, 60, of Poplar Dell, Fla., died Thursday, May 11, 2000 in a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness.

She was a native of Century and lived most of her life in Poplar Dell before returning home to Gulf Breeze.

She was a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.

Her love of family is shown in everything around her and her helping hands will be missed by all of the community.

She is survived by her husband, John D. "Bugs" Brown of Poplar Dell; one daughter, Dottie Kay Radcliffe and her husband David; one son, John Hampton and his wife Paula Brown; five grandchildren, Kristen, Brittany and Nicholas Radcliffe, Holly and Kara Brown, all of Gulf Breeze; five brothers and sisters, Buster and Ruby Smith of Poplar Dell, Mobidine Johnson of Christine Home, Fla., Pearl Brown of Ensley, Jerry and Darlene Brown of Gulf Breeze and Joe and Ann Brown of Gulf Breeze; several nieces and nephews and too many friends to count.

Pallbearers include Joey Brown, Mark Brown, Aaron Smith, Darrin Smith, Chris Parker and Zach Parker.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 14, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. John Fillingem officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Home Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Mary Alice Bradley

Mary Alice Bradley, born January 4, 1915, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at the family residence. She was a native of Repton, Ala.

She was a master gardener and homemaker. She was a member of Friendship A.M.E. Church in Daphne.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Sam Bradley, Sr. of Daphne; two sons, Richard and his wife Minney and Sam Bradley both of Daphne; a daughter, Inez B. Dale, of Daphne; one brother, Lewis Green and his wife Everlean of East St. Louis, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Malcolm Bradley of Birmingham; one sister-in-law, Ruth Hubbard of Daphne; 31 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins and other relatives and many special friends.

Funeral services will were held Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Friendship A.M.E. Church in Daphne with the Rev. Carl Martin officiating. burial will be held in the Friendship Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Macey Abagail "Bird" Amerson

BRATT - Miss Macey Abagail "Bird" Amerson, 7, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at a local hospital.

Miss Amerson was a native and lifelong resident of Bratt, Fla.; she was a first grader at Temple Christian Academy; an honor roll student and an active member at the Atmore Baptist Temple. She played piano and was a cheerleader for the NWE Eagles. Her grandfather, Ed Amerson Sr.; her Little Granny, Margie Amerson and her great-grandfather, William R. Prewitte, preceded her in death.

Survivors include, her father and mother, Ed and Megan Amerson of Bratt, Fla.; a sister, Madison Amerson of Bratt, Fla.; grandparents, Brenda Amerson of Bratt, Fla. and Roy and Cathy Williams of Atmore; great-grandparents, R.J. Amerson of Bratt, Fla. and Helen Prewitte of Atmore; two aunts, Stacey Plant of Bratt, Fla. and Lauren Williams of Atmore; three cousins, Tanner Plant and Madelyn Plant, both of Bratt, Fla. and Kendal Beasley of Atmore.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Odom officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Austin Lee, Sammy Lee, Jace Beasley, Eric Plant, Freddie Fails and Joe Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Broadbent and Bobby Amerson.

Connie "Johnny" Lee Courtney

ATMORE - Mr. Connie "Johnny" Lee Courtney, 61, of the Little Rock Community in Atmore passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at Mobile Infirmary.

Mr. Courtney was a lifetime resident of the Flomaton-Atmore communities. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a welder by trade. Mr. Courtney was of the Baptist faith. His father, Woodrow Courtney Sr. preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his wife, Sandra Black Courtney of the Little Rock Community; mother, Lula Kearley of Flomaton; son, Johnny Lee (Jamie) Courtney of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Woodrow (Judy) Courtney Jr. of Flomaton; sisters, Dot (Bo) Brantley of Flomaton and Sheila (Mike) Bickley of Acworth, Ga.; special daughters, Sheri (Steven) Ray of Brewton and Paula (Robbie) Ferguson of Pensacola, Fla. and grandchildren, Cheyenne Courtney, Jonathan Taylor, Samantha and Courtney Ray and two special Angels on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shelton Kindig officiating. Interment will follow at Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ in Atmore with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Flomaton Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Parker, Stephen Waguespack, Bo McCall, Micah McCall, Josh McCall and Jaye Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Millard Peacock, Gary Bailey, Johnny Holland, Charles Stark, Johnny Buckhault and Walter Porz.

Floyd Richardson Jr.

WALNUT HILL - Mr. Floyd Richardson Jr., 63, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006.

Mr. Richardson was born Jan. 12, 1943 in Burnt Corn, Ala. to the late Mr. Floyd Richardson and Mrs. Lena Richardson. He attended high school at Rasom in Cantonment, Fla. He was united in Holy matrimony to Mrs. Dorothy Jean Pryear Richardson on Sept. 4, 1964. He served his country as a member of the United States Army from January 1965 until January 1967. His father, Mr. Floyd Richardson and two sons, Floyd Richards IV and Jason Richardson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his wife, Dorothy Pryear Richardson; five daughters, Ms. Lena Richardson and Ms. Marsha Richardson, both of Atmore, Ms. Alanda Richardson, Deidra Richardson and Amber Richardson, all of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three sons, Mr. James Richardson of Atmore, Dewayne Richardson of Bay Minette and Floyd Richardson III of Walnut Hill; one sisters, Ms. Betty Richardson of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, John (Annie) Richardson of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Evangelist Jessie (Evenly) Richardson of Canoe; nine grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends and a very special friend the late Ms. Patricia Ephraim the mother of Alanda, Deidra, Amber Richardson.

Funeral services wee held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at New Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Hill, Fla. with Rev. Willie White officiating. Interment followed in New Saint Paul Cemetery in Walnut Hill, Fla.

Pallbearers were sons and brothers, flower bearers were friends and final arrangements were entrusted to Christian Memorial in Atmore.

CENTURY - Mr. Bobby Knight, 57, of Century, Fla. died Feb. 21, 2006 at Jay Hospital.

Bertha Lamar

BAY MINETTE - Mrs. Bertha Lamar, 92, of Bay Minette died Tuesday, Feb. 21 at North Baldwin Infirmary.

Jerry Douglas Boutwell

FLOMATON - Mr. Jerry Douglas Boutwell, 60, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 in Flomaton.

Mr. Boutwell was a native and lifelong resident of Flomaton. He was a member of Boilermaker's Local #112, a hard worker, loved to play the guitar, and attended the Moyeville Baptist Church. His grandparents, James and Lila Boutwell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Boutwell of Flomaton; four sons, James and Jamie Boutwell, Anthony Boutwell, Scott Boutwell, and Phillip Boutwell, all of Flomaton; his daughter, Patricia Dunn of Flomaton; his father, Billy Seals of Bay Minette; his mother, Dorothy Bondurant of Flomaton; nine grandchildren; five sisters, Brenda Cain of Century, Fla., Linda Wilson of Milton, Fla., Glenda Knowles of Flomaton, Inola Driver of Century, Fla. and Irene Hadley of Flomaton and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James Pugh, Rev. Ernie Cawby and Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Burial followed at Rigby Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were James Boutwell, Anthony Boutwell, Scott Boutwell, Phillip Boutwell, Michael Hogen and Billy Byrd. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Lambeth, Charles Reardon, Adam Hogen and Steve Hogen.

Jack Hadley

RABUN - Mr. Jack Hadley, 61, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at a Baldwin County hospital.

Mr. Hadley was a native of Latham, Ala. and a resident of Rabun for the past 42 years. He was an employee of the Baldwin County Board of Education and attended the Holiness church. His parents, Walter and Jessie Hadley; two brothers, Junior Hadley and Burley Hadley and a sister, Luverne Jones, preceded him in death.

Survivors include, his wife, Marie Hadley of Rabun; his daughter Wanda and Bo Brown of Rabun; two grandchildren, Jimbo Brown and Jimma Brown, both of Rabun; a brother, Robert Hadley of Elsenor, Ala; three sisters, Etta Mae Aldridge of Crestline, Ohio, Marie Sprinkle of Bay Minette and Mazie Guy of Dallas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at the New Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and will continue until funeral time at the New Providence Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Bob Stacey, Bo Stacey, Elbert Stacey, Mike Erwin, Tommy Sprinkle and Phillip Hadley. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack McMillan.
