BILLY B. BRADSHAW

Retired Alabama state trooper

Billy B. Bradshaw, 73, of Calera died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at home. He was born June 30, 1931, in St. Clair County. He retired as an Alabama state trooper after 30 years of service and he was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Monta S. Bradshaw; his children, Rhonda (Bryan) Beale, David (Donna A.) Bradshaw and Richard (Donna M.) Bradshaw; sisters, Elsie Black and Virginia (Charles) Hurst; grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel) Beale, Sarah Beale, Dana (Bobby) Janney, Drew Bradshaw and Julie (Joe) Ray; and great-grandsons, C.J. and Jalen Ray.

Service will be today, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church in Calera, the Rev. Harold Warren and the Rev. Joe Sizemore presiding. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

NORMAN TUCKER BROGDEN

U.S. Army veteran

Norman Tucker Brogden, 64, of Chilton County and formerly of Siluria, died Dec. 1, 2004.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Otis Brogden, and his brothers, Alvin L. Brogden, Herron C. Brogden and H. Gerald Brogden.

He is survived by his wife, June Stamps Brogden; his son, Craig Brogden; his daughter, Kimberly Brogden; his grandson, Korbin Brogden; his brothers, James T. (Billie) Brogden and Howard G. (Georjane) Brogden; his sister, Doiris B. (Charles) Bray and Sherrel B. (Mike) Shaw; nieces and nephews; great-nephews; and great-nieces.

Service was Dec. 4 at Charter Funeral Home, the Rev. Donnie Acton presiding.

BROCK DAVENPORT

1998 Thompson High School graduate

Brock Davenport, 24, died Dec. 1, 2004, in a car accident. He was a 1998 graduate of Thompson High School where he excelled in baseball. He enjoyed hunting, playing softball and spending time with his daughter. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sara Mahaffey. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Susie Davenport; his sister, Tara Davenport; his 2-year-old daughter, Brinley, and her mother, Courtney Davenport; his grandparents, Harold and Sarah Mac Davenport of Alabaster; his great-grandmother, Central Northcutt; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Services was Dec. 4 at Westwood Baptist Church, Dr. Les Hughes presiding. Burial followed in Elliottsville Cemetery, Charter Funeral Home directing.

JULIA ROGAN DEVANE

University of Alabama graduate

Julia Rogan DeVane, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry DeVane, and her parents, Paul and Pauline Rogan.

She is survived by two aunts and several cousins.

Graveside service will be Dec. 8 at Montevallo Cemetery, the Rev. Barney E. Champion III and Rockco's Funeral Home directing.

MARTHA BEATRICE FANT

Brierfield Baptist Church member

Martha Beatrice Fant, 91, of Brierfield died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, in Austell, Ga. She was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Sunflower County, Miss. She was a member of Brierfield Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Olan M. Fant; her daughter, Juadine Abbott; and her son, Curtis M. Fant.

She is survived by her children, Dolores L. Gardner, Margie L. Waites, Martha A. Crocker, Debra K. Brown, Terry O. Fant, Tommy R. Fant, Denny W. Fant, Gary D. Fant and Steve D. Fant; 25 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, T.C. Terrell and Leroy Terrell; and two sisters, Louise Smith and Minnie Mae McCollie.

Service was Dec. 6 at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Scott Watson presiding. Burial followed at Shelby Memory Gardens, Bolton-Letlow presiding.

HARRY ARNOLD "SNAKE" HUNTER

Lifelong resident of Shelby County

Harry Arnold "Snake" Hunter, 49, of Alabaster died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Shelby County.

He is survived by his sisters, Odessa Langham, Johnnie Mae Spence, Patricia Gail (Frank) Clayton and Susie Hunter Warren.

Service will be today, Dec. 8 at noon at Liberty Baptist Church in Alabaster, pastor Akeam Simmons presiding. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery, Westside Funeral Home in Calera directing.

HARRIET JACOBS

Artist, teacher and social worker

Harriet Jacobs, 100, of Alabaster died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004. She was a noted artist, teacher and social worker. She was born in Missouri in 1904 to Leroy Duncan Williams and Carlotta Cunningham Williams.

She is survived by Virginia Marcus and Helen Blair, both of Grant Pass, Ore.; Edward Jacobs of Cornville, Ariz.; Donna Jacobs Yauger of Arizona; Kathi Jacobs, Carlie Jacobs and Billy Jacobs, all of Chelsea; Robert and Mary Ann Marcus of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and John Gromko of Hoover.

Charter Funeral Home directed. The family requests memorial donations be made to Amedysis Hospice, Barnabus Foundation, 3600 Kannebec Street in Northport 35473-1325.

ERNESTINE MACOY LOWE

Vincent resident

Ernestine Macoy Lowe, 81, of Vincent died Nov. 28, 2004.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn M. (John) DeLoach and Barbara M. (Earl) Walden; one brother, James Patterson; two sisters, Ruth Buchanan and Betty Jean Johnson; two grandchildren, John (Kate) DeLoach III and Lisa DeLoach (Adrian) Barber; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Michelle Barber and Robert James "Jess" DeLoach.

Service was Dec. 1 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial following in the adjacent cemetery, the Revs. Arzell Hyche and Ron Reed presiding and Kilgroe Funeral Home directing.

ANTHONY WAYNE MAJORS

Father of two

Anthony Wayne Majors, 43, of Montevallo died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at home. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Majors.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Liddle Majors of Montevallo; his daughter, McKenzie Majors of Montevallo; his son, Matthew Majors of Montevallo; his mother, Alberta Majors of Montevallo; three sisters, Linda Gail Wyatt of Little Rock, Ark., Patricia Majors of Montevallo and Elaine Jones of West Blocton; one brother, Keith Majors of Marvel; and one grandchild.

Service was Dec. 3 at Rockco's Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Tony Bass presiding. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Rockco's directing.
