Catherine Gilmore Brown, 87, of Calera died March 24, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paulie Brown.
She is survived by her son, Clark (Judy) Gilmore; daughters, Frances Ann (Charles) Honeycutt, Cathy (Jim) Adams, Shara (Jim) Wright and Loretta (Terrell) Adams; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Francis Cutcliffe; her brother-in-law, Otto Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service was March 27 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Father Ray Remke presiding. Burial followed in Shelby Memory Gardens, Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Carolyn Mayfield Bailey Cain, 89, of Wilsonville died March 23, 2004, at home. She was born May 30, 1923, in Birmingham and was a member of Fourmile Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius E. Cain.
She is survived by her sons, Steve Cain of Maplesville and Larry (Jane R.) Cain of Harpersville; her grandson, Chris (Vanessa Peters) Cain of Atlanta, Ga.; and her granddaughters, Jennifer Cain and Julie Cain.
Service was March 25 at Fourmile Baptist Church, the Rev. Gary Jones presiding. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.
Robert LeRoy Campbell

Robert LeRoy Campbell, 66, of Vincent died March 23, 2004. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Vincent and a 1962 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a member of the National Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hanna Campbell; three sons, Robert Wade Campbell, Russell Todd (Kerri) Campbell and Reed Gregory Campbell; one brother, Charles L. Campbell; four sisters, Sarah Godard, Sue Gray, Shirley Smith and Dianne Townsend; and six grandchildren, Todd, Bradley, Seth, Morgan, Trenton and Chelsea.
Service was March 26 at the First Baptist Church in Vincent, the Rev. Lon Cullen presiding. Burial followed in Vincent City Cemetery, Kilgroe Funeral Home directing.

Paul Douglas Carter, 47, of Shelby died March 25, 2004, in Shelby. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Carter; his mother, Doris Marie Crowson; and his brother, Rex Allen Carter.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Carter of Powhawtan, Va.; his son, Nicholas (Jaime) Carter of Shelby; his sister, Donna (Phillip) Garrett of Calera; his brother, Michael Wayne (Hazel Sims) Carter of Adger, Ala.; his grandson, Caleb Joe Carter; and his nephew, Clint Garrett of Calera.
Service was March 27 at Rockco's Funeral Home in Montevallo, brother Mark Sims presiding and Rockco's directing.

Robert Grady Clark, 87, of Wilsonville died March 24, 2004, at his home. He was born June 8, 1916, in Lafayette, Ala.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn T. Clark of Wilsonville; his children, Shelby Shirley of Decatur, Patsy Juliano of Peabody, Mass., and James G. Clark of Birmingham; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Edna James; and his brother, Homer Clark.
Graveside service was March 26 at Pinelawn Gardens in Columbiana, the Rev. Ken Wilson presiding and Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

Zelma Alice Thomas Horton Crim, 74, of Montevallo died March 26, 2004, in Alabaster.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Crim of Montevallo; her children, Cecil (Sue) Larry Horton of Montevallo and Lisa Minor of Montevallo; four grandsons, Stephen, Jeff, Josh and Mat; one great-granddaughter, Katie; one stepdaughter, Cindy Flowers; three stepsons, Luke, Duke and Justin Crim; 10 step-grandchildren, April, Dale, Jennifer, Dana, Michael, Jessie, Jeremy, Leremy, Stacie and Joey; and five step-great-grandchildren, Cynthia, Wesley, Jonathan, Tyler and Miranda; one sister, Elna Davis Brown; and one brother, Chandler Davis.
Service was March 29 at Rockco's Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo, Brother William Jones presiding. Burial followed in Moore's Cemetery, Rockco's Funeral Home directing.

James Palmer Holliman, 70, of Montevallo died March 26, 2004, in Alabaster. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Ray Holliman.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Geneene Holliman of Montevallo; his son, Jamie Ray Holliman of Montevallo; his brother, Troy Holliman of Texas; and two grandchildren, Matthew Adam Holliman and Brittany Nicole Richards.

Lilla F. McDonald, 76, of Vandiver died March 22, 2004.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene McDonald; five sons, Ken T. (Jerry Gaye) McDonald, Glenn (Tina) McDonald, Ricky McDonald, Vick (Barbara) McDonald and Rusty (Darlene) McDonald; one daughter, Theresa (Doug) Blank; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Barbara Jo Baggett Shipp

Barbara Jo Baggett Shipp, 69, of Pelham died March 29, 2004, after a longtime battle with cancer. She was a longtime member of the Pelham Church of Christ and was employed by Shelby Baptist Medical Center for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis O. Shipp.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery O'Neal (Kay) Shipp of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Davonia (Frank) Buck of Pell City and Teresa (Billy) Bonner of Toxey, Ala.; six grandchildren, Laren Shipp and Chase Shipp, both of St. Louis, Mo., B.J. Bonner, Mikell Bonner, Caleb Bonner and Britney Bonner, all of Toxey, Ala.; one brother, Melvin Drennen Baggett Jr. of Empire, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Matilda (John) Landers of Pelham; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; and a host of friends.
Service will be April 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Southern Heritage Chapel, Richard Sztanyo and James Bonner presiding. Burial followed in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
