Dr. Vladimir Lukjanow-Kozlowski
Dr. Vladimir Lukjanow-Kozlowski, 82, of Champaign, Ill., died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Ill.
He was born May 31, 1918, in St. Petersburg, Russia, to the late Wlodzimierz Lukjanow and Maria Kozlowski, and married Christine Prediger on Sept. 21, 1948, in Lubeck, Germany.
He studied at Jagellonion University, Krakow, Poland and the University of Hamburg, Germany, receiving a medical degree. He was a medical doctor specializing in psychiatry.
Dr. Kozlowski worked for the state of Illinois, mainly in the Kankakee area.
He was a member of several professional medical societies, including the AMA and the American Psychiatry Association and several service clubs. He also published 17 professional papers relating to psychiatric drugs.
During World War II Dr. Kozlowski served in the Polish Army as a cavalry officer and then in the Polish underground movement (1939-1945). By the end of the war he was a captain in the British Armed Forces.
He was highly decorated for his war service, including The Virtuti Militari of Poland (the equivalent of the U.S. Medal of Honor) and Croix De Guerre from France.
He and his wife immigrated to the U.S. in 1949 and he became a U.S. citizen in 1954.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Barbara Deters of West Bend, Beatrice Pavia of Champaign and Renata Schloss of Chicago; a sister, Maria Iwko of Gliwice, Poland, four grandchildren, Robert and Katharine Deters of Madison and Anya and Dominic Pavia of Champaign.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 20 at Faith United Methodist Church of Champaign, with Rev. Gary Ford officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Carle Hospice Memorial Fund 611 W. Park St., Urbana, Ill. 61801-9977.

Gloria A. Kuciauskas
Gloria A. Kuciauskas, 70, of rural Campbellsport, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2001, at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
She was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Milwaukee, to the late Harold and Violet (Jablonski) Kleist, and on March 23, 1958, married Alex Kuciauskas in Fond du Lac.
Mrs. Kuciauskas was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in the town of Auburn.
Survivors include her husband, Alex; two sons, Matthew (Linda) of Panama City, Fla. and David (Michele) of Weyerhaeuser; three daughters, Lisa (David) Getsfried of West Bend, Kathryn Novak of St. Cloud and Rickey Ann (Terry) Weber of Cascade; a brother, Ralph (Carol) Kleist of Hustisford; five sisters, Karen Pinter, Mary (John) Apriesnig and Sue (Jim) Havlicek, all of West Allis, Karel Kurth of Westfield and Patricia (Robert) Valentine of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Harold Jr. "Sonny" Kleist, and a sister, Eleanor Musil.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, at St. Matthias Catholic Church, town of Auburn.
Father Mark Jones will officiate, and burial in the church cemetery will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
The Miller Funeral Home, Kewaskum, is serving the family.
Letha L. Wendorf
Letha L. Wendorf, nee Falk, 69, of West Bend, formerly of Mequon, died Sunday, May 20, 2001.
She was the beloved wife of Clifford; dear mother of Michael (Julie) and Carol Wilde; loving grandmother of Jason Wilde, Jaime Wendorf, Jemy Wilde, Kelli Wendorf, Julie Wilde and Brian Wendorf; great-grandmother of Hailee Wendorf; dear daughter of Norma (Harold) Nachreiner; caring sister of Iris (Harold) Seefeldt, Herbert Falk, Myra (Donald) Deppiesse and Bruce (Beverly) Falk; foster sister of Betty (Alfred) DeMarce; stepsister of Gary (Jackie) Nachreiner and Sandy (Tom) Ingram. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her father, Lauren Falk; a grandson, David Wilde; and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Wilde.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11313 N. Riverland Road, 35 W., Mequon.
Visitation at the church will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Interment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Alfred G. Woelbing
Alfred G. Woelbing, 100, of Rubicon, passed away at Wellington Place on Friday, May 18, 2001.
Mr. Woelbing, an inventor and builder, invented Carmex in 1937, packaged it and sold it out of his home. Today it is sold worldwide with its home office located in Franklin.
He also worked on the Manhattan Project and invented products such as "Maid of Honor" silver polish and "Blue Flame" lighter fluid.
Survivors include his son, Donald (Marion) Woelbing of Franklin; grandsons, Paul Woelbing of Whitefish Bay, Eric (Jacinta) Woelbing of Racine; his step-grandson, Fernando Delangel of Milwaukee; two great-grandchildren, Jayme and Ashley Woelbing; his caring friend, Kathy (William) Smithyman of Rubicon; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, Hartford, and on Wednesday at St. Olaf's Lutheran Church, Rubicon, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m.
Rev. Larry Westfield will officiate, and private interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Memorials to the Washington County Humane Society are appreciated.

Julia M. Volk
Julia M. Volk, nee Mullowney, 91, of Allenton, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
She was born Oct. 24, 1909, in Mauston, to the late John and Bridget (nee Madden) Mullowney.
As an adult, she moved to Addison Center and was an owner and operator of Al and Julia's Tavern.
Survivors include two children, Betty of DeForest and James (Karen) Volk of Ferryville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were a son, Donald, and her friend and companion of over 40 years, Al Zimmel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 24, at 2 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, Allenton.
Fr. Richard Breitbach will be the presider, and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation at the church only will be Thursday from noon until 1:45 p.m.

Letha L. Wendorf
A funeral service was held yesterday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Mequon for Letha L. Wendorf, who died on May 20, 2001, at the age of 69. Interment was held at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include: husband Clifford Wendorf of West Bend; children Michael (Julie) Wendorf and Carol Wilde; grandchildren Jason Wilde, Jaime Wendorf, Jemy Wilde, Kelli Wendorf, Julie Wilde and Brian Wendorf; great-grandchildren Hailee Wendorf; mother Norma (Harold) Nachreimer; sisters Iris (Harold) Seefeldt, Myra (Donald) Deppiesse; brothers Herbert Falk, Bruce (Beverly) Falk; foster sister Betty (Alfred) DeMarce; step-sister Sandy (Tom) Ingram; step-brother Gary (Jackie) Nachreiner.
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Lauren Falk, grandson David Wilde and great-granddaughter Lauren Wilde.

Everette E. Taylor
A funeral service was held Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Lakefield Road in the Town of Grafton for Everette E. Taylor, of Grafton, who died May 21, 2001 at the age of 82.
Arrangements were handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Grafton.
Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 7, 1918 in Milwaukee, son of Glenway A. and Helen (nee Johnson) Taylor. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and worked for Mercury Marine for more than 27 years.
Survivors include his wife, June (nee Conway) Taylor of Grafton; children Nora (Donald) Backhaus of West Bend, Cora Taylor of Campbellsport, Vivian (Howard) Dehn of Eagle River, Lillian (Dennis) Seitz of Omro and Mark Taylor of West Bend; step-children Sharon (Rev. Donald) Lehmann of Sioux Falls, S.D., John (Cherie) Hadler of Grafton and Mary Hadler of Milwaukee; brothers Glenway E. (Alice) Taylor and Wesley (Ann) Taylor, both of West Bend; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
John J. "Jack" Licht Sr.
A funeral mass will be held today at 1 p.m. at Divine Word Catholic Church, Cedarburg, for John J. "Jack" Licht Sr. of Cedarburg who died May 20, 2001 at the age of 83. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family.
Mr. Licht was born Oct. 21, 1917 the son of the late Jacob and Josephine Licht. He married Lucille (nee Hildebrandt) on July 3, 1942 in Kaukauna. He worked as a sales engineer for Marshall & Huschart Machinery Co.
Mr. Licht was a member of the Elks and Eagles, Cedarburg Civil Defense, Knights of Columbus, Cedarburg Civic Band, senior men’s golf group at Hawthorne Hills and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was on the Cedarburg Fire and Police Commission for 20 years.
Survivors include: wife Lucille of Cedarburg; children Jacqueline Lewaren of Orlando, Fla., John Jr. (Kathy) Licht of Las Vegas, Nev., James Licht of Cedarburg and Jennifer (Robert) Callies of Saukville; grandchildren Tim (Tonia) Lewaren of Green Bay, Justyn Licht of Milwaukee, Jon Licht of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandchildren John Paul and Jenna Lewaren of Green Bay; step-grandchildren Monica Krew and Stewart Goforth; sisters-in-law Irma Sasnowski of Kaukauna, Evelyn Taylor of Kaukauna, Grace Steinway of Kaukauna; brother-in-law Melvin (Susie) Hildebrandt of Evansville, Ind.
Further survived by other relatives and friends.
