Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

Gertrude R. Armstrong, 88, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2002. Family will receive friends at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, today, from 4 until 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Methodist Church, 341 Wilson Street. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Barbara Ristow officiating. Burial to follow. Harold J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director. A memorial fund has been established in Gertrude's name at the funeral home.

Alfred F. Pagel
Alfred F. Pagel, 92, Green Bay, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002. He was born August 7, 1910, to the late Edwin and Louise (Koffarnus) Pagel in Hilbert, Wis. He married the former Hazel Jensen in Dubuque, Iowa. Alfred was a cheesemaker for many years at several locations, owned and operated Rostok Dairy, was employed by Clark Oil for 12 years and was a bridge tender for the city of Green Bay for 10 years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, the Young At Hearts Club and the Men's Breakfast Club since 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; one daughter, Gayle Anderson, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Dawn Pagel, Sobieski; four grandchildren, Terri (Dean) Fontaine, Wendy (Rodney) Pichette, Jesse Pagel and Cole Pagel; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Fontaine, Lindsey Fontaine, Shauna Pichette, Adam Pichette and Krista Pichette; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Otto (Myrtle) Pagel, Green Bay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gerald Anderson; one brother, Otto; and three sisters, Adeline Cherney, Edna Kratz and Viola Witthuhn.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1350 Bond St., where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gary Froseth officiating. Burial in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Lyndahl Funeral Home is serving the family.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staffs of Harmony Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for the loving, tender care that was given to Alfred and the compassion that was shown to his family.

Helen Koehler
Helen Koehler, 90, Green Bay resident, died Sunday evening, Oct. 20, 2002, in a local nursing home. She was born on Nov. 21, 1911, in Bison, S.D., to the late Anton and Mary (Satz) Effenberger. Helen married Herbert Koehler and he preceded her in death in February 1981. She worked for 40 years in New Jersey, retiring to Green Bay. She is survived by her sister Caroline Basche, Green Bay, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Anton, Frank, August, Louis and Phil; and two sisters, Anne Williams and Mary Heaney. Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., after 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service. Funeral service 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Sister Louise Hunt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Vincent Hospital's Home Health Care, 1927 S. Webster Ave., Green Bay, WI 54301.
